Keep it simple I think.
Stock block- block, pistons rods. no arp fasteners on the rods. Arp Head studs fine because that’s technically completing the long block. Rings, bearing and clearances should be up to the builder. Keep the pistons NPR. BSE is fine as well. My 2cents
I am having similar issue..right click>saveas>download> evo8stock.edato open it from where I saved it at which in my case to figure this out saved it to the desktop I rightclick>openwith>ecmlinkwhen I do that it comes up with error code
what am I doing wrong here?
making sure I'm in check here.
my wideband isn't oscilating as fast as I think it should. I would like some input here. thank you
its going from .80v to .20v its not seeing anything between that I can tell. I'm still new to tuning so I'm making sure I'm in check here.Thank you for taking the...
In most cases yes they will just throw them in for you. It should only take them a whopping 1 minute a piece for them to install them. Some shops are different though and it's very simple to install them yourself. Most cases like stated above unless your running coil overs and your drop is more...
The person to ask would be MY1GDSM he is who made mine and we happened to find a small issue with a ground wire. Maybe i can get him to chime in on this one.
Someone chime in if I'm wrong but those are Delphi also and are u looking for the o ring that is at the top of the injector that sits in the rail or the o ring seal that sits in the head.. Either way I believe FIC injector seals work :thumb:
If u do the work yourself u save about $370.. OEM seals are like 30$ and if u are mechanically inclined you can do the job in 3hrs give or take. Personally I would do it myself.. If you do infact do the cam seals yourself then I would make sure u understand how to do the timing belt correctly...
Ok make sure the cam gear teeth are flush with the head. I use a piece of cardboard with the straight edge of the cardboard or thick paper to make sure that the cam marks are indeed flush and straight across from eachother. Stick the straight surface behind the cams to check flush with head then...
Do you have adjustable cam gears? If so check to make sure that the bolts are tight ive seen them come loose and make it sound just like a lifter tic or valve tapping.. then I would check that timing is on.. U could have jumped time and be off a tooth or half a tooth. It's happened to me about 5...
Did you happen to check your cam seals?? You should also check to make sure that your vc gasket isn't twisted and crushed on that back side where the fuel rail is. I always use a tiny amount of rtv just to keep it stuck to the vc and not fall off. Also i have a problem with my vc leaking also...
The brass fitting on your fpr return line does not need any tape or an o-ring. Do not over tighten this fitting though or it can leak. Those type of fittings need to be just a little over snug.
:thumb:As for those blue anodized fittings they need to have 1 o-ring between them and the fpr unit.
There are people who do remote tuning on this site rather than geting dsm link i.e. ecm link. Chips are damn near the same and most of what is on ecm link can be done on a chip not all but most. First you would need a Eprom ECU to use either ecm link or a chip. I assume since you have a safc...
Stock 1g stock rods and OEM NPR pistons and a good tune. You can get the NPR pistons .020 over as well. New NPR pistons that come with ACL rod bearings, ACL main bearings, and rings are around $140 shipped. These are what I am currently running and my goal is 450ish awhp.
:hellyeah:Oh and i...
I suggest reading vendor reviews before spending any money. DSMTuners: DSMGraveyard Vendor ReviewIf u are using the 1g rods they have been proven to make well over 450hp. If i recall correctly the kit you are refering to is ghe 2g piston 1g big rod combo in which all 6bolt turbos have the 1g...
Black Widow is correct your exhaust mani is stock for the 2g yes. It may be a ported 2g mani. It's not a big deal at this point it will still flow very nice. I've made well over 400awhp with a slightly ported 2g exhaust mani. :hellyeah:
What about the spare bock? I see you wrote good internals, but what do you mean by this? Is it rebuilt and if so by who? Machine shop, friend and/or random person. First you need to get the block cleaned up and checked out, along with the head pressure tested and may need rebuilt. If you have a...
Stock internals are good for what you are trying to obtain with supporting mods. What kind of budget are you on? What parts do you already have via the spare block. Is the block rebuilt?
Just one more thing with this MTX-L wideband the colors for the LED sweep and the digital readout is programmable to whatever colors you want. :sneaky: The cable in the top right hand corner of picture #3 is the cable you use to change colors and there should be a CD that came with it also.
I have installed this in my 1g it's pretty simple 12v power i used my cigarette power so it comes on when my key is turned on and black to ground. i have the directions here in front of me it statesRED: 12v power
BLACK: Ground
White: Headlight power wire that supplies current to headlights (DO...
YEP that's the infamous bolt I am talking about!! Also check that it didn't crack the tranny by your very front top bolt below the water neck that bolts the tranny to block. this happened to mine after a few launches.
You should be able to get that on stock internals with some E85 pumping through her. You will need bigger injectors of course 1200cc or better should be plenty. I have been running delta regrinds since i have owned a DSM and i bought my Laser in 2005. I went with the 264 272 combo made great...
Depending on what hp you are wanting I would rebuild the 7 bolt. This would be less money buying new Arp studs and new HG and so on. That's my opinion. 6 bolt if your trying for over 750 hp. :thumb:
The vr4 maf is the same as 2g maf so to answer your question yes you can use it. you need to have a way to tune it though. ecm link or a chip that is burnt for this setup.
6 bolt bottom end is capable of 400+ agreed about the rest though definatley need some bigger injectors and a tuning program along with a turbo to push you there.
I do not have the part number for that bolt, but it is about 2.5 inches long. Wish i could help ya there on the part number. i just went to napa with the right side bolt i believe its 12 mm or 14 mm and got like 4 bolts of different lengths and tried them. Ill see if I can dig the part number up...
I would check your fuel lines also like Mhuddy just trace them back from the rail shouldnt be very hard to follow them.. When was the last time you replaced your in tank "sock" filter or even your fuel filter in the engine bay?Sorry I'm not showing anything about him spraying starter fluid...
You need a way to tune your car and also a way to log depending on what you get. ECMlink you can do both on. E85 really requires nothing to convert other than some bigger injectors depending on how much boost you run and a tune. I was on E85 here and was running 27psi daily and was getting 22...
