ok these things suck!!!!
Ive broken 2 breaker bars, a half ince wratchet, and bent a 4 foot pipe!
I soaked it in penetrating oils, heated it red hot, reafed on it so hard etc etc.
it will not come out.
so how thew hell am I suppossed to get this thing loose??
:thumbdown :Dedit... oh...
just wondering what everyones thought was of a 2gnt, in terms of reliability. i know i am used to speed, but i figure i need something reliable, and they look nicer then hondas IMO. Are these cars known to have major problems or are they generally considered sound.
thanks.
ok, so i measured my speakers tonight; front and back. sorry im the furthest thing from a audio wiz. i thought the front ones were 5.5" and the backs were 6.5x9.25
all i can find is 5 1/4" for the front, and 6x9 for the rears.
are these the real sizes??
or are 1g speakers hard to replace...
That's nice you ran 12s in an AWD... I'm happy for you, this is not an AWD...
Yes its true I have not tuned MAF-T but, I considered it a learning experience, gotta start somewhere right!green92gsx: I know there is a drain bolt on the gas tank... I just didn't care that much to get under the...
I had the same thing happen on my AWD... The part is cheap, but the labour to install it is a PITA w/o a lift. I broke down and brought it to my mechanic who did it on straight time... took him about an hour. Good Luck, if you decide to do it yourself!
No issues with wheel hop, didn't go WOT in first, launched it out with the stutterbox set to 3200RPM's, shifted hard into 2nd and pegged it, the rest was just a matter of getting clean 2-3, and 3-4 shifts in... I was shifting at about 6000rpms.
Hey guys, brought my FWD 92 out to the track today, first time racing the FWD. This car is ALL original, still racing on the original 240,000km old clutch and everything! OMG
Anyways, its only real mod is a MAF-T with a small custom upper ic pipe. The rest is all stock aside from an ECU...
Well, I bought 10L of 112 unleaded tonight after work... I plan on dumping all that in the tank after a few runs on pump, to help get the gas tank pretty close to empty!
Hey guys, have a question... I'm heading to the track this weekend and I want some advice. The car in question is a 92 FWD, in really excellent running shape. EVERYTHING is ready to go, I say this speaking from years of DSM experience, so I know what I'm talking about. Mods include; ported...
Looks pretty good, I recently did the same thing, but with a polished lip... You may want to consider sanding the paint off the outer lip and polishing it...Makes them look 10x better.
What size rims are those? I imagine a stock sized wheel and tire combo with a decent summer performance tire even, would greatly improve your traction...
I usually go through 4 full tanks a month, driving about 350 miles/week...
This month I am probably only going to use 2 full tanks if that... I hope to keep this trend going as I don't like to spend 300/month for gas. Each tank roughly now costs 65 bucks..=(
I can say from first hand experience that those non-OEM PCV valves play havoc on your cars performance. Mine was fully pissing air ito the crankcase, now I dunno about causing knock persay, but thats a hell of a boost leak.
I'm a cheap ass so what I usually do is just drive down to the local car wash (many air pumps) pop off my intake pipe, slap on the tester and use the free air hoses there. Bring some soapy water along with you, you'd be surprised at how hard some boost leaks are too properly identify. The soapy...
This was given to me today for free, so I would like to use it after a proper resurfacing of course. My concern is the crack on the mating surface. It doesn't appear to be deep, and theres a fair bit of meat left. What do you think? Salvageable, or junk? FWIW, this is going on a low power FWD...
It sputters while idling and wont build any boost....
Boost Leak Test is the first thing you wanna do... As for other things, if you havent already changed your plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter you minus well do that too. =)
Do you have a datalogger plugged in? I'm pretty sure if you do that will cause ABS light to come on. I think it happened to my buddy and he didnt know why for months and months, than after unplugging logger one day the light went off.
350awhp seems a bit much to be honest, hope for 300 with a good tune on the dyno. Otherwise though you have a standard issue 16g setup with decent supporting mods. Similarly modded cars have put down some fast times!
Unbelieveable in all this BS ramblings on only a couple people contributed anything worth half a pile of crap. Check for boost leaks... Check ignition related components, start by pulling the plugs, than inspect/replace old/worn wires. By the sounds of it, which is vague at best my guess is you...
Assuming you mean 150-170 miles per tank... how many US Gallons does it take to fill back up after driving 150ish miles. Alot of people fill up for only 10-12 gals, while in reality your tank should hold almost 16 US Gallons. Now if your getting 170 miles to 10 gallons of gas thats still not...
LOL what a f'in ripoff 250 bucks to "re-condition" an ECU profiteering is what that is...
I had my ECU "re-conditioned" AND socketed for 20 bucks by a professional @ A local electronics store...
250 bucks... disgusting!
There was a 2 week window without the chip only after the injectors, so I never "tuned" it without the chip so to speak, so that I can't fully answer. For those two weeks I just "drove". I did notice a fair increase in fuel economy for normal driving though, after chip install..
Agreed, After getting my ECU chip set to compensate properly for the injectors and deadtime, and setting the MAF-T to 0 for the base, the car ran smoother/nicer all around. Proper compensation is a much better method than lying to the ECU through a piggyback of sorts.
Weird, from my experience, and many others I know, they have to set the MAF-T considerably lower than there actual injector size. I installed 650's and had to set the base to 550's and work from there. With it set to 650s the car started and bogged than died. So, for the thread starter I...
Couple things for NOMIEZVR4:
1. Never be sure something (engine) isn't something (knocking). Why bother modding the car if you can't view the most basic but extremely crucial of feedback. Get a Logger.
2. Double clamping couplers does nothing more than single clamping them from my experience...
LOL, only a redneck would design a shooting range in a "u" pattern or whatever this one was, up here the only shooting ranges we have are dead straight with at least .5-1 mile of open nothingness aroound all areas.
Glad to hear your still alive and ticking, BTW when i read the topic title I...
I believe Super Street did a write up on modding a 1G AWD, they dynoed a bone stock 1gb AWD and it put down like 165 AWHP... Thats about 18-20% drivetrain loss.
