Comp housing is td05, I would like to finish the turbo and exhaust work at around $300-$400, and as far as wastegate goes I am trying to avoid boost creep and I heard a external would help along those lines. Honestly that is not a subject I am familiar with and could definitly use some pointers.
I just had a fellow member build me a 14b with 20g guts and a evo III 16g hotside. What I need is some suggestions on install kits, o2 housing, and a good 3in downpipe that I can weld up to my stock exhaust. I have a electronic cutout (3in) that I will be welding on the downpipe. I finished all...
So I bought The 96 tsi awd as seen in my profile, I purchased it from a repo yard who was auctioning it and I ended up paying 3200 for it. It was completely stock with 73k and a bit of exterior damage and some issues under the hood. I took it for a drive after I picked it up to get an idea of...
Sweet...I'll be coming home in sept from Iraq! Hope you guys are open by then because I got some work for ya! That is if I can make the drive from FT Hood :p
I'm also in Iraq but will be home in sept. My 96 tsi is currently in about 200 pieces in my garage in Harker Heights. I been mailing performance parts home since December and managed to do my head gasket and head rebuild on my R&R (My wife was pissed) BTW I'm one of those 1st CAV guys :p. I'm...
thx guys...the dowell pin is exactly what I needed to know. I set the timing 1 day b4 I went back to iraq. 80 days and I can continue my project. (the whole timing thing has been in the back of my mind since)
I recently replaced my head gasket and took the opportunity to overhaul the head and replace the water pump and timing kit. when I removed the camshafts I also removed the cam gears. How do I go about setting the timing for the cam gears? Thx
you don't need the head perfectly smooth and you don't want it totally smooth for a fel-pro. Just take it to your guy and have him "Deck It" He'll make sure the head is within tolerance. should be about 60 bucks give or take.
Thanks for the info guys! I just ordered my AEM tru-boost! (Thanks gusu) a good buy at 235 shipped. I like the idea of intake and exhaust 1st, if anyone has had good experiences and easy installs on a 3" exhaust, good intake and BOV throw me some ideas. I'm planning on getting bigger injectors...
drop the maf and do speed density...not too sure I follow. I'm kinda stuck on the whole air issue right now. I'm all about the dejon intake but I'v read of people having issues with the BOV if not recirculated. Like I said I'm very new to all this. I'm a Tank mechanic in the US Army :)
I don't know too much about DSM's but this is obviously the place to be. I just purchased a 96 Talon TSI AWD with 73,000 orig miles (very well maintained). I am looking to get about 400hp out of it and would like some help making decisions on base mods that will allow me to go as high as I want...
