That's exactly what I had planned on getting (t3 housing with. 82 ar.) And I know it'll all cost more, im not worried about everything else that 900 is just my limit on a turbo, i've already ordered a punishment racing t3 mani, and i'm prepping for a 3" vband exhaust. I just need suggestions...
Well I biought the car with the turbo on it and was told that, not to mention I looked up the guy here on dsm tuners who originally built the car back in '04 and specially ordered a 61 with a p-trim turbine. But I do get what your saying I just haven't had the time to research into other turbo...
Hey everyone, i need some advice from some smart DSM'ers.
I have as it says in my Mods list, a fully built 2.4 with a ported head and FP3 cams, as well as the full fuel system support. the bearings in my PTE SCM61/P-trim turbo recently went, damaging the compressor wheel and what not else. and...
I am surprised no one has commented until now, what turbo did you end up getting and what made you sway that way?i am currently in the market and have my eyes specifically on both of the precision turbo's you mentioned above. I was looking at Holset's but they just don't fit my specs...
Does anyone know what gives the ECU the signals for LTFT, TPS, and MAF?
i mean if there is a single wire or something that may control signals for all of those?
thanks all.and sorry moderators i apologize now for not editing my previous post instead of replying.. Didn't realize i was doing that.
I do have a new alternator plug on the way :thumb:i did for now however connect and shrink wrap those wires to allow me to at least start the car.THANK YOU so much snowboarder for the help, that was the key, i hunted down those two wires amungst the 3 or 4 other ones from another little guy...
So i took that link you sent me (thanks by the way) and looked at the connectors i cut out.. and came up with a bunch of useless ones except for:
ISC/IAC connector was my main concern, i have the full blockoff so this was disconnected and obviously unnesessary unless the computer takes readings...
Hi all, right off the bat for those that want to say that this has already been asked, go ahead and try searching for a problem like mine and i will gladly admit i am wrong to post this.
But anyway, i just did a head gasket job on my G4CS swapped 97 Eclipse with 95 Eprom and v2 DSMlink.
things...
what became of this issue? because i am having the exact same thing... LTFT lo and mid are not moving from 12.5% i tried adjusting global and deadtime as well as MAF comp and none of those worked. Also sometimes my fuel trim malfunction DTC will get thrown.
anyone have any ideas?
hmm, well then i guess it is the housing from the G4CS.. Even though i use 2G oil filters? are 2G and 1G filter housings/filters the same? because its the same exact shape as the 4g63 housing it just doesn't have a hole where the factory sender would be.
Not to wake an old thread or anything but where did all you G4CS guys put the sender for your oil pressure gauges??
I've tried the old turbo feed port on the head to no avail, tried one out of two ports next to each other on the front (towards front bumper of car) of the oil filter housing...
Ok i have a 97 GSX, with DSMlink v2, 2.4 G4CS built motor, Precision 61p trim. Has IAC blockoff which means it also doesn't have the ISC motor. Also has 850cc FIC injectors.I had the car tuned when i was back in michigan on 19psi and it was a pretty good tune, minus some things cut short and...
I really would like to know, where you all put your oil pressure lines for your gauges at? I had mine here and was not getting a very accurate reading at all! it was constant in between 20 to 40 psi and wouldn't fluctuate quickly like it is supposed to, would only creep up in psi, very, very...
Indeed it is!
More than likely sometime in the next month or two i plan on taking my 2.4 swap GSX to the track in Eagle to get a time. going to be running 30psi on a 61 trim putting me at around 470 to 500HP at the wheels, hoping for a good run without anything breaking :hmm:If anyone in...
Ha Ha, I'm just used to my dad always saying that when some stupid law or bill is passed or negative decisions are made by someone in the government that its the liberals fault because their the majority that voted for it. For example people possibly getting charged with assault now a days for...
sorry i take back what i said towards liberals, i actually was a bit heated after arguing with one of my friends who is a liberal coincidentally a little while before i came across this thread, so i changed what i said to a little bit more of what i really meant.
sweet.. why i don't know but the guy i bought the car from (who knows more than i do about these cars) told me it was stroked, he was right about it being built for torque and fast spool but however is not stroked.. since the crank that is in it is a forged 100mm crank and that's factory sized...
Personally, I think its the few super sensitive arrogant people out there that take that kind of stuff offensively and now a days the gov't trying to support every single person helps this out.however, OP - It's not so much that society is turning into this generation of chaos. You have to...
So what kind of RPM range, torque, rod ratio, and reliability would a G4CS block bored .040 over (87.5mm) with 100mm crankshaft, 150mm rods, and Wiseco stroker pistons give me?(please do not think of me as dumb or reply with negative comments if this seems sort of on edge for a safe build... I...
I agree, i think the 1st is still the best due to the eclipse, as well as more car/engine related.
Definitely loved this movie though my eyes were glued to the screen the whole time!
IMO a 5 out of 5.
...With a killer ending too!
lookin good!!
question, i bought my GSX with the G4CS swap already done and i need to replace the thermostat... i have the same neck as you but i don't know if its a sonata neck or 1g neck? (to determine whether to get a 180* 1G thermostat or sonata thermostat?)
thanks! keep up the good work.
more than likely but if its white smoke... that would be coolant burning, not oil.If your absolutely sure its not leaking anywhere, just for the heck of it pull off your coolant cap and check out your coolant, make sure there is no oil in there, and vise versa.because if your not leaking...
I agree... check to see if it blows blue smoke from your exhaust. if there is some way its burning that much oil without you noticing it running like complete a**, then its burning oil.
will be either: Turbo seals, valve seals, or even your head gasket... just check your coolant too for the...
maybe he just didn't put enough in and/or its burning it? (if its not leaking).
and did you honestly put in 2 quarts of oil when it was only at the minimum line? (the bottom of the 2 lines)?
+1 on the 2.3 stroker
IMO there's more available options and a wider range of power available with it.
in the end its all up to you and what your looking for.
yea well i wouldn't doubt it... mine are fairly new though and the bolts look to be in good condition and i don't think HKS would make a cam gear to be unreliable. i will look into that though, thanks.
alright thanks i will do that..
out of fear for the block not being completely flat (my engine got to 240 degrees not too long ago and has been pushing water/lost compression ever since.)
i will have the head re-surfaced but what can i do about the block? seeing how i cannot just pull it out and...
+1 for figuring out/understanding the deadtime and global.. even though i do know that the global is dependant on your fuel pressure and what sized injectors..
im pretty sure if you go to calculate put in your injector size and what fuel pressure your running it'll show you. can someone confirm...
boo ya to that.
Also a USAF Crew Chief here... and i as well contribute some funds to a retirement fund each month to the TSP, which is similar to a 401K.
hey all in the Boise area just throwing myself out there im in Mountain Home new to the area just got here a couple weeks ago.. waiting to get my 97 GSX with G4CS swap over here from Michigan and fix it up a little bit to start running it in Boise and at that track ya'll got in (i think it was)...
thanks.. its getting there, i had a car before this that i spent 2 years on almost every day going and changing/cleaning things up on it to just get a really smooth clean look to it. this car is a work in progress though for sure - it has one thing i hate the most though and thats a wiring...
yes its a G4CS from the '89 to '91 Hyundai's...yes i definitely agree it was my fault too, but since i haven't been around these kind of cars all that much especially a heavily modified one i honestly didn't know better. i mean it was only about 1/8 to maybe 1/4 to the right and it actually...
you probably did! the guy had it for sale for almost a year, he bought it from the old owner of Speed Industry in Troy, MI. and right away it blew up so he had to rebuild.
yes there were a couple things messed up about this car when i bought it that weren't on it or just screwed up.its a...
no everything was put back together correctly.. its just the the guy that rebuilt it (whom i bought the car from) didn't have the car long enough to catch the fact that the post thats supposed to be pressed into that mount wasn't pressed in right, someone pressed it out (why i don't know) but...
...but that all is a thought, im debating between that and just getting a 5gal can or something and driving 45 mins to buy some race gas or E85 and just mixing with the 91. since both meth and the mixing cost about the same but mixing is easier, meth is also more convenient.
how much more of...
My name is Gydeon, i am an F-15 Crew Chief in the USAF, and on March 12, 2011 I bought my first DSM - A 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
:thumb:now there was only 3 issues with the body of the car when i bought it
1. the driver side side marker was gone, "magically" fell out.
2. the clearcoat...
After i got the valves replaced in the head and fixed the timing system issue that threw my belt and drove a little bit on it to finish breaking in the engine it was time for a tune.
so i drove 100 miles to Pure Tuning, in Toledo, OH and got the car tuned by Keith - who knew his crap but didn't...
not to thread jack but didn't want to start my own and this is the closest i could find to what i need.
i have a G4CS block bored .040 over and a 4G63 head its all built.. good some day for 500HP and i need a head gasket, and for the life of me cannot find an 87.5mm gasket that can withstand...
i really don't even have my car out here yet, its in MI. i would really move to Boise but unfortunately im stuck here at the Air Force base in mountain home :/
which really im more depressed about the lack of race gas or E85 out here more than i am that there is nothing to do out here. sooo...
not to jack your thread but i feel this is appropriate - i live in Mountain Home, ID.. about 45 mins SE of Boise and about an hour NE of Twin Falls, ID. I don't have access to E85 or race fuel anywhere near here.. Boise is approx 45 mins away and thats where the race fuel and E85 is. but for...
alright Gofer will do once i get my car out to the base im currently located in..
i would upload the log he used when he tuned the car but he didn't save any logs neither did i before i left home. i do however have the tune saved on my computer.
but none the less in the next week or two when i...
of course they wouldn't have anything to do with loss of coolant, but if you somehow have a bad valve seal you can lose compression, or burned valve, or even the valve not seating correctly.
ive had this happen before on a 420a engine.
