China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho | Plamero.comThis is gonna be some stupid crap right here ! IMO. Talk about skipping the middle man for sure ! :banghead: :ohdamn: :nono:
Its more for the sealing, not a fan of RTV, just figured if i could cool a lil more in the process why not, I know it wont fix the cooling problem, but every little bit helps. Keeping this car cool after a hard drive sitting at a redlight sucks. Thanks for the link.
Im just having cooling problems when its above 90 outside at redlights. And my oem oil pan wont seal, ive done it 3 times and its still leaking.Who makes a non ebay version of this ?
Has anyone used or is anyone using this oil pan ? It says it keeps oil cooler, but it is ebay. Will my stock pickup tube work in this ?OBX Oil Pan MITSUBISHI Eclipse Eagle 89-92 4G63 Turbo | eBay
When I start the car it used to idle at 2500 rpm. I did a few tests, replaced plug wires, plugs, tested coil pack (as per haynes manual)I did a boost leak test and no leaks found, went through the :1G BISS AdjustmentI turned it down to 1000 rpm or so, but once i get to or above...
1. I went there again, because he told me he just had a new guy in the shop, and it never happened before.2. The owner told me to call him and he would time it over the phone, and that "its really easy to do."What I should of done is sent the whole motor back in the first place.
They did that all on there own, only 2 of the links in the review are mine !!!I should not of even had to pull the head off, or time it in the first place. Where I come from when you do a job, time is money. Should I send a bill with the review ? Then they wanted me to pull the motor back...
Massive Fail for sure. I posted a review in the vendors review section, hopefully it saves the next person !Ill keep you posted on if they ever make it right.
Yes that is where the problem is. I ordered a fully assembed crate engine, with the timing done (which I made a point to make sure it was before I completed my order, got reassured I would not have to mess with the timing) ordered it with a stage 2 port job on the head. Got the engine in the...
I agree ! Very crazy, but who cares its money, ive lost more on the craps and poker tables, and ill earn more, its life. I know Florida has to have a good DSM shop, ill be in Orlando. Hopefully they take this motor as a core.(KARMA ROCKS) :hellyeah:
Sorry I suck at using a camcorder, ill see if my sister will come over tomorrow and record a better one.Do you think the piston will make it like 6 months, and on a 20 hour trip to Florida ?
Ill turn my turbo all the way down with the manual boost controller if I have to !I have to...
You don't think I can sand/buff those nicks out ? I just need the motor to last like 20,000 miles, and thats just a rough estimate, I really just need it to run for like 6 months, and get me 20 hours down the road like right now. Then Ill have enough money to rebuild it again, or have some shop...
Right after I made that post I started searching the internet. Its like everything else on the internet though. A bunch of people doing it, and a bunch of people saying you cant. There are people that are sanding, smoothing, and fixing the top of there piston. (see link)Piston top surface...
Is it possible to buff, or die grind the top of the piston ? Im not in the mood to pull this motor back out and ship it, and then reinstall in a month. I have an extra head sitting in the garage, with some crappy port work done to it, but I have a local machine shop that might be able to fix...
Yes, remove all the pulleys outside the timing belt cover. When I pulled my engine, I took the transmission out with it, seemed a lot easier than trying to line it back up when putting it back in.How to do a 6 bolt swap and what you need...
This is why I made post # 13, the OP said it has not been started in a long time. Check the basics first.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-miscellaneous/217951-how-diagnose-no-start.htmlI would still put a brand new head gasket on, just to be safe. :thumb:
He accepted these as good. Then he had me check play in tensioner arm, and pull grenade pin.Yes I paid for the port work. Thats the head that was bolted on to the motor when I first recieved it. Then they sent me a new head and the owner walked me through the timing. I informed him when I...
I don't see any damage to any of the pistons except #4. I took the cam gears straight off, because I had no choice it was locked, and you can see the knobs look like they are in time. The first head I showed in the video is the one that came on the motor. Here is the thread for that...
Well here is the video of the damage, car, etc...Open to all comments, opinions, thoughts, etc...Sorry, I suck at recording even with a high definition camcorder.YouTube - M2U00012
I dont know, if I owned a shop I would. Just to make sure it was running right when it drove out, and the customer was satisfied. Also what about all the time I spent taking it out, and putting it in an extra time ?So Im supposed to take out the motor again, mail it, wait a month to get the...
Sorry people been busy all day doing a full service on my truck for this road trip. I will post a video tomorrow of everything. Only the #4 piston and valves were damaged all the rest of them look good.See cam gear pictures, and an email I got from them today and the email I sent back. (I...
A shop built the motor. I rebuilt the rest of the car, whole suspension, brakes, etc...I paid for the motor to get built and it is supposed to be rated to handle 500 hp. I had to put all the bolt on parts on the engine and drop it in the car. I have spent about $8000 on this car for all the...
Yes, and I have had 3 other mechanics come and inspect it. They all called it mechanical failure, had them come look at it as soon as I got it apart just in case they try and say I did it. I also have tons of pics and videos of my whole build. I work perfectly alone and I am very meticulous, I...
No I have not its a bit obvious it is mechanical failure so Im gonna tow it up there and they gonna fix it.Yes im keeping all that info on the vendor thread. And yes if they fix the problem all I have lost is time, but time is money.
Just got off the phone with them. They said they have to check it for mechanical failure, so im towing the car to michigan, and they gonna put a new motor in for me.It looks like mechanocal failure to me and 3 other mechanics I know that came over and personally looked at it .?!
Well I went and pulled the plugs out and looked down the holes and saw metal, so i took off the head and here is the problem. (SEE PICTURES)So how did it run for 30 mins to an hour and drive down the road, and then this happen the next time I start it ???
So pull the plugs and try to crank it ? If it dont crank drain oil and pull oil pan and look for stubby shaft ? Then pull timing belt if no stubby shaft present ? Also if the stubby shaft is in the oil pan or there are lots of metal flakes is that the builders fault ?
As soon as I started it for the first time it was whining, then I turned it off checked the cams for play, then restarted it. It was still whining so I drove it a few miles then pulled back into garage, turned it off checked everything again visually, restarted again everything still good...
Yes there was a whining in the first video. The oil pressure was fine while it was running, I turned it on and off a few times to check oil levels, coolant levels, and check for leaks. So seized is needs rebuilt again ? Yes it is bored .030 over.
Yes everything in the top of the head looked fine. It has to be something with the timing belt. Maybe to much tension but im not sure, thats why I posted it on here.
Yes the balance shafts are removed, got removed when i got the motor built. And this is a fresh build so im not tearing into anything to far until i know exactly what caused this.
Like a clunk almost like something fell in there, but i know nothing fell in there i had it running for a while before I turned it off and started it again.
Ill try to remove the sparks plugs and turn it tomorrow. And im sure it was installed correctly not so sure about the belt tension. So if the timing belt was overtightened what could that have broken ?
