I really like the OEM style carbon fiber hoods. As for a brand i have owned 2-3 VIS hoods and have never had an issue with them. Just remember if it sits in the sun and or dust/dirt a lot make sure to keep it buffed. I do mine about once a month.
The stock crank and as everyone else has already said oil passages a must and the machine shop should be able to tell you if a polish is needed. Good luck
Just make sure you get the studs for your specific engine as there is a difference between 6 and 7 bolt studs. As for the HG i would suggest an OEM MLS over the cometic. The cometic mls suggests that you have both the head and the block decked but the OEM one only the head is needed to be done...
