That was entertaining...did you get the car home yet? I'm curious to know what failed. you said this is your new engine... is it possible that an internal bolt came loose? my buddies evo had a loose oil squirter on his fresh 2.3 build.
Its def a possibility. if your batt, alt, and wires are good and hooked up right what else can it be. id see if you cant get a used switch off a junkyard car.
If you had the starter checked while off the car insure you have the power wire reconnected. my clutch switch is finicky,if I press it at just the right angle it starts. otherwise nothing.... its like my built in kill switch
What do you want a really want? a really nice new turbo? any turbo that reaches your power goals? only reason I said holset is because you can get the whole setup for under 1500. Otherwise go buy a 35r
I just did that this weekend on my car. you can try to piece together but its actually cheaper to buy that kit unless you wanna run a different fuel filter. just three straight -6an and one 45 plus the rail adapter. oh and if your wanting to run e85, you'll need to buy the 45$ stainless steel 40...
Pick up a holset for 400-500. Oil lines will run you almost 100. Get a waste gate o2 housing for 300-400. Then you still have around 500+ for a manifold, injector, link, or some cams!!
There are no pre-made custom tunes. every project is different and behaves differently. Cars with similar mods could be used to get an idea where to start but I don't suggest loading someone's race tune for your car.
Get a holset, either a hx 40 with tubular manifold or a 35 with bep bolt on housing. The bep housing allows you to use the stock manifold, but may require denting the water pipe.
Upgraded to a hx 35, fp manifold, tial ewg, stm tank to rail kit, spal fans, hks bov, and vrsf fmic, deleted emissions and cruise. prob some other stuff...
I wouldn't take it to adrenaline either. very high priced and lot of bad rap from my friends. id say give craven performance a ring. Pur performances tuner started his own shop and I've seen some of the work.
I had a similar problem but realized I torqued the vc bolts too tight and cracked it barley. at idle no leak but after driving and popping the hood there was oil there. Check for cracks get a new pcv valve and when you changed the vc gasket did you do the half moon and spark plug tubes too. oh I...
Gsxs arent everywhere but many want them. autotrader has worked for me in the past and is better than 75$. Just list the highlights like maintenance, after market parts, and history.
I guess you could cut off the v band flange and weld on a 2 bolt flange but then that defeats the purpose of being cheapLol thought id clarify but you beat me to it.
Looks to me you'll need a custom v-band downpipe not cheap. then find a wg that is 38mm and has identical inlet and outlet flanges. on my setup I bought a used pr tubular o2 dump and a tial 44 ewg in the for sale forums. then just picked up a flange, bolts, and gasket and had a buddy weld it up...
Check the body panels, each one should have a sticker with the vin printed on it. check to see if there's overspray from repairs. and don't forget to get a carfax...lol.
What's going on guys? I have a 97 gst... following the trend. Not the nicest but she's a work in progress. currently got here tore apart installing hx 35 but hoping to have er done before summer. I live in both wentzville and Springfield mo. I wouldn't mind taking part in this cruise.... as long...
