No problem, just make sure you get quality parts for the car when the mechanic digs into the car. ARP head studs, etc. Or you can build a separate engine and just throw it in. So many different avenues you can go really. If the goal is just to get it drivable then just leak down test...
Theres a few people you can go to. There's tedspec in San Jose area which would be my top recommendation. Some others would be overkill in Sacramento and Horsepower Industries in Fairfield. You can possibly find local dsmers to help you out as well but as far as shops go these would be the ones...
I used the 1g hub and a friend of mine bought the bracket from dudes website and it worked just a good. There's 2 options right there. I don't think you can do anything with the 2G steering wheels to fit an Evo wheel on the 2G steering column. The 1G hub from the wheel is weldable but if I had...
Yea that's one of the common roads you'll find me on whenever I take the car out. I'm glad to see there's a couple dsm guys in this area :thumb: I plan to go to the Norcal Chassis Works meet in a couple weeks if I can get my suspension setup done by then. Maybe I'll see you there
Yea. They also said the price will bounce up to like 7K usd after this group buy. So I'm unsure but atleast there's another option aside from dogbox. Hopefully withstand alot of abuse.
The pre-order was due November 30th. Full payments. I loved everything about this group buy aside from the 1 weeks notice, the timing and these aren't tested yet. They'll be R&D so I wanted to wait to see how the people in the first group buy do with these gears.
That's basically the gist of it but as for the crank sensor it is possible to run the kiggly 2 tooth crank trigger sensor for the 6 bolt and use the 2g cam sensor with it. I know a few of us have done this already.
Been running a 2gb cas and kiggly crank sensor (2 tooth one, the other one won't work for link) for about 5 years now. The 2gb cas is the one that is fixed on the intake camshaft opposite side of the cam gears. The 95-96 cas is the one that bolts to the head behind the intake cam gear. As...
Back in 2019 someone offered me 12k for mine during a dyno day, didn't sell it , a year later I was telling myself my number would be 15k, then someone offered me 15k and I couldn't go through with it, 2 years later someone offered me 22k and I was back and forth with myself like dang that's...
I haven't contacted him since I had my issues. Last emails I had from him was this that might be the same problem I had with mine. Apparently my preload had changed after install causing torsional twist and I did notice the feeling seemed loose after I removed it from the car the 1st time...
Started making an aluminum air box. Hopefully it helps with intake temps. No I don't run a maf, it's hollowed out. It's only there because California lol
WORKS did a road race build on a friend of mines GSX and honestly, I was not impressed with their work and I'm usually a very glass half full kind of person. But that's just my personal opinion of course. There is a shop here in Fairfield called Horsepower Industries, I have yet to visit this...
I torqued the inner rods down to factory spec with blue loctite and the oem washer. I didn't put extra grease in as it looked pretty well greased out of the box. Let me know how yours feels after installing and test drive.
sounds like you got ref'd because of the cold air intake. Without a carb legal stamp or EO # then yea its technically modified emissions and he can write the ticket. I suggest go back to stock and go to the ref. With an AWD atleast you won't have to go on the rollers just make sure everything...
Ah i just got done dealing with this myself. My mistake was I was trying to line up the slim line on that piece pictured but it's actually the wider one. I marked the parts that the cylinder is suppose to slide through here
Received my BLEM set but had a special request lol something about a signed part just makes it feel really official. The way I see it, it's a LCA and it will take damage or scratches or something eventually since it's under the car.
Fixed*
I know you're only asking if others get anxiety from getting our cars tuned and not really asking for help with your car specifically getting tuned that doesn't mean other members aren't going to try to help you and help begins with a filled out profile. There's no need to get defensive...
I received the rack back from Brandon and on the bench feels more solid, I went to install it and I will say the feel of it from the steering wheel while on stands is more stiff since he adjusted to preload tighter. Just eye balled my toe and jump started the car and drove it around the block...
Can you give some feedback on your EPS unit by Mr.Cole? Is it rpm controlled? Does it shut off after you're already moving or stay on a suck power the entire time?
He inspected mine he said the preload needed to be tighter, the looseness caused the shaft to pivot and contact the housing which is what caused the stiffness the entire time. Only possibility he could think of that caused it was the spring settled from his hands to install. He reset everything...
Thought I'd update this thread, after extensive checking, it looks like my rack itself was the culprit so I emailed Brandon and EMW and he said to just ship it back to him for inspection. So that was like $70 out my pocket to ship, hoping everything is still good. I've had 1 other anonymous...
I was able to throw the rack back together and get the steering wheel as center as I could. Might be the slightest bit off if anything. while installing the inner tie rods I noticed Bobby's kit didn't have the washers but if you're like me and bought the inner tie rods from EMW prematurely...
After video chatting with Bobby, turns out I do have the Quaife rack, the inner tie rods have to be in show the actual turn ratio. I'll update when I have it all back together. Thank you again bobby for your time!
So question. Just want to verify everyone else's is this way, I noticed in Bobby's video his only makes just under 1 rotation mine happens to make more than my stock rack in rotations. Maybe I'm mistaken but anyone else notice this? First video in daylight is the stock rack, 2nd one at night...
As the title says. I'm looking for good condition 5ZIGEN FN01R-C wheels. Must clear brembo brakes so possibly 17x8.5 +35 or 18x8.5 whatever offset clears the calipers. 114.3 lug pattern of course. I know its a long shot but figured I'd give it a shot.
2014 and earlier considered early members? Man is time really moving that fast!? What year is it!?I still lurk and usually get my money taken by @ec17pse lol
Hey Bobby. Just clarifying, so to my understanding these will be made to order correct? No deadline just something thats available if someone wants it.
I'm interested in the V2 kit Bobby, How would the process be as far as payment. IE half up front half when everything is ready to ship or full amount? Also what would be the turnaround time for this as well?
