The connector in the 1st 2 pics goes to the O2 sensor.

I also had a similar issue with my 92, ended up being the Temperature Coolant Sensor.Either way, about the only true way to find out what is triggering the CEL is to have codes checked.Good Luck

:ohdamn: Guess no one will know until you follow the wires back to find out what they're connected to under the dash.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone ;), fairly new to posting on this Forum, been a 1G DSM'er for awhile so have gone through a lot of the headaches, blood sweat and tears, but persistence does pay off and I finally scored a 91 Eagle Talon AWD Tsi.For now I'm just content on upgrading...
