I actually looked through that thread to try and find a pic but none are taken from the underside of the motor to be able to point out where the leak is
we cleaned the entire side of the motor with brake cleaner and watched where the oil leak came from.... I'm just trying to get a pic so I can show you guys where the leak was.
does anyone have a picture of the Drivers side underside of the motor I could point out where the oil was coming from if I had that... I should have taken a picture
I noticed a slight oil leak coming from what appears to be the oil pump :banghead:. just curious as to how in depth of a fix this is/ how much it will cost me to replace/fix
I have searched but have not found an answer all my searching is talking about the bolt under the headlight which I have removed and is not the problem.I have the 3 bolts out and for some reason the headlight wont come free on the fender side. is there a trick to get the headlight out? I...
just picked up a 97 GSX with 126,000 miles for 1300.00 only things it needed is a drivers side fender, tires and a new windshield. could use a new paint job too (paints chipped and faded)tons of mods:* a brand new 16G turbo with ported turbine housing
* exhaust manifold and O2 housing from...
go to the classifieds and search intake... you will see the ad just look for that picture that was postedI have messaged this seller twice in the past week or so about that intake and he hasn't responded to any of my pm's. now it makes sense I would imagine he doesn't want to rip me off...
that won't work for this alarm system. the system has to be disarmed because there it an ignition kill and starter kill.I'm going to be working on it today and tearing the alarm out and reconnecting all the factory harnessing. this could be interesting
I wish I had that option. unfortunately my car will not run until I can find where/how he wired in the starter kill so that I can re connect the factory harness
so this morning I go to hop into my GSX to head to an appointment to get the windshield replaced so that I can get my car inspected. I open the door to get in the car and the car alarm that was installed in the car when I bought it started going off. the alarm has never worked for me and I...
I found out why the EGT gauge is not working properly.... I finally had some time to trace the wires to find the probe and in is just tucked in the engine bay behind the drivers side headlight.... ughhh :ohdamn: I think I am going to pull out all the wiring/gauges that were already installed who...
I have the boost controller off right now so it is running stock psi and I have been taking it really easy on her for now until I get injectors/hp fuel pump and a tune.I have been looking for a used intake that has the fitting so that I can get that BOV recirculated (I think I may have found...
That's. Something I have been meaning to ask about....what is a boost leak test(I know its a test of the Turbo system to check for leaks but how do you perform the test?
ok so I will go with 650cc injectors. for some reason I thought the SAFC was good for up to 750cc but I must have read wrong.I'm planning on just sticking with the safc2 since it came with the car I don't want to spend to much $ for now and the safc will work to get the most out of the mods...
so pretty much what I have gotten out of this is I definately need a wideband A/f gauge, 750cc injectors, hp fuel pump. f/p regulator and the SAFC is ok for now but if I go with larger injectors I will need another form of tuning ie: dsmlink, Evo scan or something along those lines.what do...
I did a full tune up, changed all the fluids and the timing belt was done at 120,000 miles as well as the water pump and head gasket (he had all the paper work). how do you recirculate the BOV?
some more pictures..... I just picked up a drivers side fender for 30.00 (painted black to match the car) to replace the one that is all dented in. now as far as the body goes I just need to respray the hood and she will look mint other than needing a serious cleaningpicture of her next to...
I will be having a shop dyno tune my car.. they seem to have quite a bit of experience with DSM's.I have another question I found this tucked in the dash behind my cd player it is connected to the profect b boost controller... its some kind of switch any idea what is it for?
whats wrong with the safc? do you happen to have a link to that stuff?which boost controller would you guys recommend me using... greddy profec b or e-01?
I'm not understanding what you are saying. I know I will need a wideband and plan on picking that up. as far as the tuning device isn't that what the safc2 is for? I already have the EGT gauge (all the mods listed came on the car when I bought it)
well its tax time and I figure I will put some money into my gsx I just bought. I am new to DSM's/turbos. I plan on having it dyno tuned and I want to make sure I have everything all squared away to be able to make the most power SAFELY with what I have before bringing it in for a tunehere...
I just bought my 97 gsx and the heater was making this god awful sound and wasn't blowing any air... I decided to take the blower motor off to see what the problem was... I definitely wasn't expecting this.
I picked it up from a Guy I went to high-school with. I guess hejust got sick of working on it about 4 years ago and just parked it.There is a little rust on the passenger side strut about the size of a half dollar that I am going to have fixed befor it gets any worse.I'm a little nervous...
today was the first day I have driven my car other than for test driving it. I noticed the autometer EGT gauge that was installed doesn't seem to be working properly. The gauge was reading 1600 F and I was at idle then would flutter around then go to 1600 again.also I was wondering about...
