It all depends on the mods you have in your RS. Throttle response is hurt a little by a 60mm TB until your setup right. IMO skip the 55mm until you need a larger TB (after turbo, cams, MS). If you are just trying to wake up your eclipse I would use this formula... CAI to header to catback to...
The main reason to do the lifter and rocker swap is to cut down on oil foaming at high rpms. Sure you can put the 2.7's with the stock lifters but you wouldn't be totally solving your problem. These two upgrades work together to further protect your head and cams, the sum of the parts is...
Take out the spark plugs. If a injector is stuck open one plug should be darker then the rest. I'm with Glow, remove your missing link, sounds like somethings up with the stock fuel system. Also is your pf control module in the engine compartment?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you need a fcd or missing link with the Portfueler, doesn't it base the secondary injectors off of engine rpm? What do you mean your car was running perfect before, before what? Are you still running the stock fuel pump? How did you calibrate your...
I feel your pain sir. I had my Toyota 22Re rebuilt this sumer and my machinest forgot to put the front and rear oil galley plug in, not only did I have to tear apart my timing components for the front and remove my bell housing in the back, but it put soo much oil in my bellhousing that it...
There isn't much that I've done on these cars. You could relocate the bat to the back. Also if you don't have an aftermarket intake that can take care of that stock filter box. Getting an aftermarket header opens up some space where that huge exhaust mani and heat shield are. You could...
Extensive? You? Nah doesn't sound like something you would do Mark.Answer to this question is yes, however it is easier in my opinion to pull the trans with the motor and wayyyy easier putting it in with the trans on the motor. Especially since it sounds like you have all the tools to...
IMO the 420a is one of the more complicated platforms to turbo. There is a lot of information out there to make it easier and there is a large support group if you have a specific question but if you have to ask how to do it you probably shouldn't. Now I don't think its a horrible idea to...
How about vibration? Usually a bad motor mount will have some. Does it make the sound when its not in gear? Have someone drive it past you to see if the sounds there when its in gear.
Ahh autox... my brother...
Tires is a good suggestion and probably should be on the top of your list but you need to know the rules and classes before buying the best autox tire out there. Reason being is if you buy too sticky of a tire then you will get stuck in a class with a bunch of heavy...
No worries man just keep your cool and hold your tongue when your getting yelled at and you will be ok. Dsm graveyard has their place and a regrind isn't always a bad thing but thats a different thread for a different time. What I would suggest is fixing your misfire issue first as your car...
I have held back from saying anything because honestly I think that you want to learn but are mixed up on a few things, however, we have already talked about this on the other thread. They don't make a forged block, they make forged pistons, rods and crankshafts which are inside the block...
This... no use searching for something that probably isn't the problem when a new tb gasket is about 3 bucks...

Why spend money on soda when water is free?
Why buy a hummer when a Mirage gets better gas millage?
Why buy a 5,000sqft house when a 1,000sqft house is big enough? We give advice if someone wants to spend money on their GS not tell them whether or not to. If someone wants to spend money on...
On the 95's and early 96's it doesn't matter because they are not obd2 ready so all you need to do is pass the sniffer test depending on location. Megasquirt will not pass an obd2 whether stand alone or piggy back due to the ecu not seing injectors or the ecu not even being there. Im not sure...
And also because a intake and exhaust is the biggest power robber on the 420a
Not like you can spend under 500 bucks for a way to replace the sluggish 420a ecu and get a way better gain. I like how all the 4g63 guys give advice on the best mods for the 420a and forget the most...

@ OP - I think you may have jumped the gun on this "I want some cams" line of thinking. There are a lot of people here that are able to help someone that way be a little newer to the game if you need it. Maybe explain to us what you are hoping to accomplish with your build first because if you...
I have never seen you contribute any usefull information to the 420a section of the forum. Please answer questions and check your personal opinion at the door.

Back to the issue at hand (after all these forums are for answering questions not giving personal opinions) no with a mild cam you will not "need" tunning software. I would highly recomend it though. The 420a computer is the biggest power robbing thing on our cars besides the auto trans. If I...
I would get a wideband if you are worried, how are you going to be 100% sure it's not running lean even after you get the AFX. You might not have a problem.
He was simply stating that the upstream o2 sensor is the one that would cause his car to run rough not the downstream o2. Obviously replace anything that is broken but if its throwing that code and runnin rough then its most likley the upstream one. Reguardless you are fighting a battle you...
Nope thats the downstream one. Upstream is in the engine bay between the head and the bend for the exhaust to start its run to the back. Should be easy to see from underneath the car but you prob will have to take the heat sheild off to see from the top.
Just going off the symptoms it could be many things. Where there any warning signs? Slipping clutch, slipping out of gears, problems with shifting into one or more gears? How it stopped working will probably tell more than the symptoms at this point. If it was fine one day and gone the next...
With stock rev limiter it probably isn't a factor, People who are increasing their rpm range might bennifit from the bleed hole in the pt lifter. Also the alignment tab on the pt rockers are stronger and less prone to breaking which give a little more peace of mind to those dropping thousands...
My bad then. I would go back to stock injectors and see if that fixes your problem, if it doesnt then your still searching. The ecu is one of the biggest power robber though so the afx would be a great investment. Thats what I get for late night posting...
Alright first of all this made me laugh for some reason... Then you asked this...That question has already been answered here...So like what was already said you need a means to tune. The 3 basic ways its done on our car is as follows...AFX Computer 1996, 420A Manual Transmission...

Thats what I thought, well obx stuff is pretty crappy. I know on the 420a platform they have problems with the spacing to where people have had to modify the rail to fit with the injectors and manifold. I would pay a little more for an aftermarket one and from your pic I would say you are...
Why are you bring this back with no relative information to add? Would be better to post in the pits with a link to this thread so we don't waste 10 min of our lives reading to help someone that had a question 4 years ago. Just sayin.

If you read the all the links in post 2 (post writin be me by the way :sneaky:) you will know everything you need to know to go in and TELL the shop what to do. I never walk into a shop and ask what I need. First of all they usually don't know what is required on our motors and second they see...
