thanks for the replies guys. jusmx that is some very interesting info i never realized that difference! My friend ended up taking it to a place called IPS Motorsports, unfortunately the noise was the rod bearings. The tech there said that there was about 1/4" of crankshaft endplay. He said he...
my buddy has an 02 corvette with some engine noise that I am not really sure about. I have never really messed around with these motors so i dont know what is common problems and whatnot. If there are any Corvette gurus in here (im sure there is), share some wisdom please!
Thanks02 corvette...
Ok so i recently did rod bearings, main bearings, and new rings. My car is almost all put back together and ready to be fired up again. As im getting closer i think im getting more scared because im not sure what to do. I know there are many different break-in procedures. I think i am going to...
Ok so I'm running the FP manifold and im having some fitment issues with the hx35. I have already cleared the water pipe but the compressor outlet points straight into the front motor mount. I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem and what was the solution? I would post a picture...
I am trying to install the return line but it seems that everything I try leaves a kink in the line the 45* seems like it would be better if it was a 90*. If anyone has used this kit and could help me out with what you did, that would be great.
Did you torque the VC bolts to the right torque? Most of the time people tighten them until they feel tight and it smashes the gasket out and causes it to leak even when they are new^beat me to it lol
Thanks for the replies. I have not yet checked the oil pressure I am just now putting the motor back together. I guess from what I have read it seemed like almost everyone runs an inline restrictor but I stand corrected. I guess I will have to see once I get it together
I am trying to find an oil restrictor for my hx35 install but can't seem to find the right thiing. I read on the "clints garage hx35 install" that he bought a .075 restritor on ebay but I can't find one of those. If you guys could help me find what I'm looking for that would be great!!!
I love diesel's. Some of the diesel guys get out of hand but so do a lot of dsmers. The smoke is obnoxious but for some reason it's fun. To the OP do some reading on how a diesel engine works, they are pretty impressive machines. Anyone that doesn't respect a diesel is out of there mind lol
I did read that but i still was a bit confused...so i will ask you.. i cant use EGR temp input because i have AEM wideband, i cant use IAT or Baro because i am using a mitsu maf, so i can use front o2 or coolant temp inputs. Does that mean if i was to use either of them i actually cut the wire...
I agree with you completely, i planned on installing a MAP sensor at some point but have been running low on time and money so i just wanted to get my car dialed in decent for the time being.
I have read and read almost until my head explodes on trying to understand how to log wideband but i...
I was looking at my boost gauge at 5000-5500 and trying to match up boostest with that. Thanks a lot i will try that out for the other points on the table.
Thanks for the replies guys....yes i do have a wideband i just havent had a chance to wire it into my ecu and try to get it logging.
My boost is set at 25.
Thanks for the advice on the table i will try that out.
With mafcomp i grabbed a cruise log and used the mafcomp tool. Then at 5000 and 5500...
I am curious to see if my maxoctane tables are looking ok. I have done a few pulls and came back and made some changes using the track datalog feature.
But, the more i look at others logs, i feel like my table looks weird. Help and advice is greatly appreciated!!p.s. i am on E85 and am...
Try pushing your clutch in a couple times, then wait for five seconds or so, then reach down and pull up on your clutch pedal.
If it is able to be pulled up, it needs to be replaced or rebuilt.there is also a great video on Jacks transmissions website on proper adjustment for the clutch
I just talked to him the other day and he told me that they have been out of ISCs. He said they always run out during this month but they are expecting there shipment of ISCs anyday now.
i went to my friends house and saw the clean ass 1g sitting there, for some reason i was madly in love with it (at that time i had nevwer heard of DSM or how awesome these cars really are)...but for some reason i fell in love and knew i had to have it so i offered $1900 and he sold it!
ok so i just started my car and started making some adjustments, i got my airflowperrev around .25-.28 so then i went to messing with deadtimes to get my combinedFT down, as soon as i adjusted the deadtime my combinedFT went to zero and i cant get it to go anywhere, my wideband is also reeading...
It turned out that I am an idiot and had the FPR hooked up wrong. :ohdamn: I didn't realize that the return line is supposed to come from the bottom of the FPR WTF
thanks for the replies guys!...im not going to get to work on it tonight but I will make some changes tomorrow and then post another log. my biss is all the way in and I know the drivers are fine so im thinking the ISC is bad.
Thanks again for the help
I am using the "activate fuel pump" in dsmlink. When I turn the fuel pump on, the needle on the gauge barely bumps up and then goes right back to zero no matter how long I leave the pump on. I tried turning the screw on the regulator all the way in and it did nothing ??? I'm so Confused!
I'm trying to set fuel pressure before I start my car via dsmlink...when I turn the fuel pump on the FPR reads 0psi no matter what I do...any ideas please!!!!
I am having some trouble figuring out how the alternator mounts on my 1g. If someone could post a picture that would be great :DI want to start this thing for the first time in a few months but I CAN'T figure this out!!
