I concur with this... I did the v3 lite version just to learn the program, without having to much to worry about at once. And did the LC-1 w/b, working out awesome. Pretty soon I will need to get the MAP sensor and the full version, but for the moment just trying to get my turbo setup in...
Sounds like your hg. Do a compression and a leak down test.Could do a pressure test on the coolant system also. If check out jafromobile on YouTube, he got a lot of good how-to videos.
You could just block off the EGR valve, as for the squeak I would check the tension on the belts. Or have someone else start it while you listen under the hood .to see where it's coming from.
