I have tried everything, i checked the little box that says to scan for COM ports and I can see that it does when I try to connect. I downloaded the drivers and windows says "the software for this device is correctly installed"What the heck is going on here. I still can't connect.
Downloaded the drivers, still nothing. The connection settings havn't been touched timout is at 500 byte delay is at 2. This setup has worked, but now nothing.
OK sooooo... Both the new cable and the old cable are no longer connecting. The old cable just lights up green on the cable and stays lit while the new cable blinks three times and stays off, both cable link won't connect. What is this about drivers? When I got the new cable it said drivers...
All is well during closed loop cruise and WOT from 4k-onHOWEVER if I try a pull from 1.5k I get a crazy hesitation at 3.5k and at about 4k it stops completely and the car pulls hard. The car also goes extremely lean in this situation, whereas throughout the rest of the pull it maintains a...
See if you could cross reference a gas cap from a flex fuel vehicle in an auto parts store.List of flexible-fuel vehicles by car manufacturer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaI'd start by using that list to try find a vehicle simular, and look up through companies like rock auto to see the...
Got the cable back today from ECMlink and Tom hooked me up a freebie cable as well. Tried the freebie cable and it works! Havn't tried the old cable. The new cable is a MUCH tighter fit to the comm port so that may have been my issue. If there is any way to mark this thread as resolved let me...
Yeah, you're probably who I got the text from. I may hit you up when I'm at my wits end if I can't get the port figured out.All the fuses are good, didn't think to check the wiki (duh) and found the connectivity section so I'll see if there is an issue with the pin outs that ECMlink uses.
Got an email back from Thomas stating that the cable tested out to be fine.Is there any way to test the diagnostic port itself before I dive into gettin' elbow deep under my pedals to test connections?I'll check all fuses too, my radio works and so do all the speakers, but I'll check...
First time the car saw sunlight after the rebuild -Ignore the bumper/parking lamp... Got backed into/sideswiped by some bi*** attempting to parallel park. Not sure if I should get it painted or spend the $800 check on coilovers...Nothin fancy, I know, but its my baby!
That's awesome ^I emailed them and they said there is no way to test continuity of the cable and the only way to test it is to hook it up to a known working device. They said that I could send the cable and they'll take a look at it. I sent the cable today after repeated testing and it still...
Anybody in the northern colorado area have a dsmlink v3 cable for a 1g dsm that I could use for a little bit to see if my cable went out?I'll reimburse gas, I just need to know if my cable is kaput.ThanksKyle
I'm not sure if my link cable has been stepped on/shut in a door too many times/etc.A few weeks ago I was able to connect to link fine but last night when I swapped over injectors my laptop wouldn't connect at all.Is there a way to test continuity of the cable? What about a way to test the...
Everything is installed and converted to speed density through a local shop, however I do not know what input pins they used. Because of this, I can not get these values to log. I am getting a MAF hz reading in my log but IAT stays steady at 77 degrees... Which is incorrect. How do I make...
That makes sense that it was custom. I completely redid the vacuum lines during the rebuild and made sure everything was connected back properly, I was just baffled that I may have forgot something and all vacuum diagrams obviously have nothing connected to the throttle body elbow lolI'll...
Well darn, thanks for the quick reply. looks like I'll block it off then. Would've sworn it was hooked up to something before the rebuild though.Edit - after looking at it looks like the previous owner tapped the fitting in. hmm... well everything else seems to hold air.
Just did a boost leak test on my new rebuild and found a nipple (that wasn't connected to anything) under the throttle body elbow that was - you guessed it - leaking a buttload of air. duurrr my badWhat does this connect to? since the car was apart a few months ago I honestly don't remember...
I found a recently (5k mile old) refurbished '97 gst head with 3 angle valve grind/ 3g lifters/valve seals/etc for $300I was wondering if it would make sense to buy this instead of getting mine refurbished for perhaps a touch more? Will this 2g head work on my 1g 7 bolt block?Any help would...
So... My balance shaft belt ended up snapping, and debris got caught under the timing belt and threw off timing a couple teeth. Both belts are in the process of bein replaced... Anything I should keep an eye out for besides bent valves and/or dinged pistons? Thanks again guys.
I took the timing belt cover off, cranked it a few times and it still seems fine. It is relatively new (<15k miles)The crank isn't locked up by any means, the engine still turns over.I will keep that in mind, thanks.I pulled the plugs, they reek of gasoline. I don't have the...
Supposedly it does, it is redline water wetter... And the engine still cranks so I doubt the cylinders are "seized." The cranking was just a hope that the pump actually operated all the time... I did not know that, but now I do.
Tonight I flushed all my coolant out to run distilled water and water wetter for the summer months... While re-filling everything I turned the engine over little by little in order to allow the water to fill all the gaps that it would miss otherwise...That was probably my first mistake. After...
As the title suggests, I'm looking to get some re-fabbed injectors from rockauto for a '93 GSX... And the only difference I've found between the "automatic" injectors and the "standard" injectors is about the $5 price gap... Could anybody shed some light on this?Of course, I'd rather pay...
