What did you use for your setup? I'd like to put that blank button up by the hazards and the rear defogger to good use. Did you just use all the evo stuff?
I know this an old thread, but FYI ROSS 99811 piston rings are discontinued. So if you got a set of 99811 pistons and you need rings, good luck, and I'm pullin for ya cause I'm in the same boat.
Anybody ever try using one of these with a 1g oil filter housing w/ an external oil cooler, ME033810 or ME215002? These are used on the FUSO and are a bit bigger. I saw a video saying pretty much, "if it fits use it".
Just paid for the Beck Arnley (#0380265) Hyundai timing cover from RockAuto. $32.86 shipped. Thanks for the tip 19Eclipse90! Saved like 70 bucks with that little tid-bit.
I did the master cylinder swap. The big upgrade is the brake booster. If yer gonna do big brakes your gonna want the 3g 2.4L master cylinder and brake booster. Same as the evo and cleans up the engine bay nice.
To the guys who've used the RTM brackets for their 3kgtvr4 brakes, is their supposed to be a gap between the base of the rotor and the caliper? I have a nice ring of rust going on as proof.
If you want to end up mandrel bending the Megan down pipe to take that angle the evo3 takes, buy the Megan. Or for a few dollars more and a nice fit, RRE is the way to go.
I was gonna use the EBC 13" Ford Mustang Cobra rotors for the 3kGT VR4 brakes upgrade, but found a nice price on Roush 12.5" Ford Mustang rotors. But I'm still getting EBC stock replacement rear rotors. Got'em on autoanthing, they have sales all the time so hit'em up.
Where do you guys find these maps? What I'd really like to find is the evo 8 RalliArt map for my 2gb Talon. I've got a 6 bolt swap with a 7 bolt head and all the supporting mods, (evo 2 intake mani, 1g throttle body, FP exhaust mani, evo o2 housing, Ross pistons, eagle rods, and I have the evo...
If you wanna have fun with that 7 bolt head, get yourself an evo intake manifold. You get to keep yer 1g throttle body and it fits the 2g head perfect.
Nobody has said it yet, if the Lancer was badged an Arrow why didn't they badge the evo as the Arrow GT or something? Just sayin. But ya, nice old school ride dude. Back in the day my parents had a 75 Plymouth Sport Fury, like to track one of those down someday.
I run Rotella T 15w40. Like what FP said, if you change the motor you change the nature of the motor. With a thicker oil you reduce friction. I live up in Minnesota so I gotta warm her up before I take off. I chose Rotella T cause my guy Mark runs it and it's cheap :D
Vinny is with you finnie3d! Our cars aren't called V8 eaters for nothing!!!!!!!!!!!! "It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you drive your car" -JaRul.
I'm having the same problem but with 98 Talon center caps. I just want to know if a 16" 1g center caps are bigger or smaller than a 17" 2g center cap.I have a set of 1g caps but no 2g caps to compare. I wanna see if the 2g ones will fit my Evo 8 Enkeis I got. My 1g ones fit but another...
Another good point about the 7 bolt is that you can use an evo 3 intake manifold with it, bolts right up. Save your 6 bolt throttle body though if you go this route. The 6 bolt throttle body is nearly identical to the evo 3's. Good luck dude.
Ok,Anti lock light flashing, stereo no sound, and no windows or interior plus no a/c and interior light.
Diagnosis:
The black and white wire running to the yellow 60 amp fuse next to the blue 100 amp fuse. The fuse wasn't getting any power so we tested it by touching the battery and that...
I'll go ahead and double check. The alternator fuse was blown, but I got that one changed out. And I had O'Reiley's put my alternator in their checker and it's fine for being old. Keep'em coming guys.:banghead: ROFL :sosad:
