i race chump and lemons cars for a while now and just got my 2g built and ready to race a 1g also.. I was at Texas Motor Speedway and had 5 Qts in the pan and alot of turns i was seeing my oil pressure guage flutter slightly.. it never got below 50 psi but its still running out some.. i did NOT...
change the transmission fluid.... does matter if the trans is hot or cold? old nasty fluid likes to make it tough to shift when its colder but if its bad enough it will do it when its warm too
ive never used a 1g cam sensor but thats what it sounds like you have.. i cant help u there. i do know there is a write up at maybe RRE? that shows you how to do it. but even then i thought the 1g sensor had 1 connector. i know for a fact the 2gb ones have 1 connector.. maybe they added the 2g...
95-96 had the cam and crank sensor plug right next to eachother by the intake cam gear.. the 97-99 had the crank still there but cam was moved to the back of the intake cam.. if it had no crank sensor in it then it wasnt a 2g engine that was in there. one of them should atleast be a triangle...
my personal experience with a stock converter, stock 2.0, hx40.. awesome.. there was no hesitation in the boost gauges going from vacuum to boost. if i wanted to actually stall it, it still wasnt an issue. wish i had a video of it but i could get the stock converter to stall higher than 3500...

gold farb is where i used to get them from.. ive ordered 10 at one time before.. very good people. even when i received one with a broken shaft they replaced it free of charged, also they are all cores for the 150 prices but rebuildable.
Justin im going to get this new housing machined to fit this turbo. What kind of clearance needs to be between the wheel and housing? Also after further inspection it looks like this older housing HAS been machined just for the taller tip wheel..what are the odds that I would get that housing...
lol yeah im hoping for not a disaster.. but curious to see what it would do.. i have everything to make this works that flows good.. if it is very restrictive ill have to upgrade everthing.. but question 2.. why are my housings different lol. a measurement from someone elses would be nice
not that i know of. i bougth from the person who had it in an hx40.. had it sitting for a while.. doesnt look to be machined since its original machining.. this turbo is one from BAE... dont bash but giving it a shot.. its 67x99 compressor and those turbine specs.. the shaft size is hx52 and the...
i have an hx40 with a 76x64mm turbine wheel.. BUT the tip is ~12.5mm most common tip size ive seen is 10.3mm. Now i have had an old t3 .55 ar BEP housing laying around for a while.. i put this turbo in it and it fits perfect.so i decided to buy a new DSM flange housing and this is my...
axles or driveshafts man... probably more so the axles.. if you can get your hands on some different ones i would try that. everything you described points to those and especially since you had one without a bearing in it completely lol
why does it take so long to spool up without nitrous to begin with? only time i saw that slow of spool on my hx35 was on speed density. maf it never had an issue
i had an issue like this on 4r55e i just rebuilt.. a pressure leak in any of the main circuits will do some crazy stuff.. a cross leak at the valvebody from a bad gasket etc. but the whining sound from the pump sounds like you should look there. obviously when u took out tcu it put full line...
well i just went to pick n pull and found about 15 cars with a 4g64 in them.. the ones mounted the opposite way had the differences in the casting.. the ones mounted the same way had the right castings on the block.. which falls right in with what lasthope said.. but lucky me i found someone...
yeah ive came to the conclusion to just find a different block.. i could have made some sort of bracket for behind the block like the other thread but.. find a 4g64 block thats right and everything works perfect
good find 2slow4now! thats exactly what i have.. now just making it work as i dont have the pan that came with it.. guess its off to find another block for simplicity..ill read up on that thread some more but the if it fits to trans im fine with 1 less bolt between the trans and engine.. but...
yes... btw i have actual experience with "turning cranks" that internet hype you have read is a big myth.. a dsm one at that.. never had an engine spin a bearing in all the cars ive had.. thanks for yet another useless post by urbansmoker
ok i bought a 4g64 from someone.. it has 4g64 stamped into the back side.. came with just a crank. what happened was the front balance shaft spun the bearing inside the block and ruined the rest.. so i had the crank fixed. it is a 7 bolt. and put some rods and pistons in it and bought a new oil...
i stalled my stock converter, stock engine, hx35 to 3500 EASY. i could build whatever boost i wanted in a matter of seconds.. on the shitty tune that was done to my car it wasnt possible.. same thing yours did.. i tuned it myself to get it to do that. 15k miles later still running strong...
nice. sounds like my street car. 11.5 c/r, lots of nitrous. jets in it now are only 60~. once i find the right ratio for e85 and the fuel pressure ill be at then ill jump it up.. whatever it takes to get it over 1000hp
yeah this would be where a taller headgasket would be correctly used.. some people dont understand that a big quench area created when doing that actually promotes detonation more than higher compression lol . what compression were u going to run?
lol i fudged that up badddd.. i meant .010 in the hole. i misread and mistyped.. which on most head gaskets would be around .053 pth clearance.. as long as when its warm the quench is around .040 its good
Yeah just building my 2.4 gsx roadcourse car right now. This thing will start of I hooked up turbo but its going to have to wait. Also need need some electronics for trans for shifting. Wire my msd dis2, nos progressive controller and two linelock solenoids.
Car with all suspension/drivetrain and interior put inMy old hx35. Still using the punishment racing manifold ceramic coated and the recirculated O2 housing
so after getting a FWD auto car and doing some minor mods to it and getting it to run really well. i decided to build another one, but with more done to it. My build is going to be a car built for the street. So that means lots of torque, and real soon.. I also wanted to keep A/C and cruise...
If you buy a fuel cell with a top plate only. Like all bladder types, thats the only way to get fuel in and out is through a bulkhead fitting. I road race with efi cars and all our cells are like that. The last few cars and the current one which happens to be a 2g. I will have a full cage and...
yes the booster is. its smaller diameter but thicker. dont know the bore of it but ive used these before to swap on other random things and they work good
this one has a plan for a 76mm turbo.. same kit i built for an f body last year pretty much.. but for the auto.. everyone does the m6. not one person has an auto. also this will be a weekend warrior/track car.. sorry but fast 1/4 comes from autos not manuals. i think its the factor of saying i...
just in case someone doesnt know what a conquest/starion is.. its pretty mutch a mitsubishi with an inline 4 cylinder turbo.. i even kept the badge in the engine compartment.
bored so here are some pictures of a current project. no where close to done but its getting there. headers fall out the bottom with ease88 conquest
built 03 lq4 6.0
built 4l80e
rack and pinion out of 2g
steering shafts out of something..
someone else's wanna be crossmember that needs fixed...
I pulled 118mph after hitting 7k and letting off on my fwd in third.. roughly stock tire size.. I was using stock trans and converter. Shift kit in valvebody. I could stall converter up to 3800 or more no problem and build whatever boost I wanted but was pointless being fwd. I was on a stock...
just checking but when it acted like it shifted into neutral.. how long was it in neutral and did it shift into gear after that on its own? just checking to see if it wasnt a flare .. as in the trans has internal leaking of some kind.. sounds like valvebody issues.. also does it change when...
there is only 2 things between the key ignition start position and the solenoid.. the starter relay beneath the radio and the connector in the engine harness.. if it clicks at the starter then those are elminated.. then its just a bad connection at starter for ground or possitve.. or at the...
should have been an easy diag.. usually no forward or reverse means pump or input... broken sprag would give you some gears that dont use sprag.. make sure you have the pilot in crank and how does the flexplate look
just saying but i could stall over 3000 on my stock converter... never did it though because it was fwd and when i let off brakes i would just spin.. i would try stock converter and see if you like it
pressure loss and maybe erratic gear shifting. maybe no gear at all in some cases. try it and see.. worse case you have to buy a new plate. maybe some clutches if it loses pressure and slips for too long.
if you are doing this at home without a machine. then the only option you have is to just drop the pan and change filter. and if you wanted to get a little more fluid out you can buy a can of line flush from oreillys. its made by Lubegard part number 19100. they will argue with you that they...
bg makes a beautiful machine for this.. uses a bladder inside a tank to flush.. new fluid in tank with bladder on the inside. old fluid fills bladder and pushes new fluid in. the input from trans has a clear glass that you can see the fluid and watch it get cleaner. then you pull pan and...
from too much fuel.. over ran FPR.. because it is more than likely all 4 cylinders and thats why it only takes a short time to flood it out... or something like a stopped up return
if you dont care and cant understand things.. then dont comment. seems here your the guy on the pc typing crap up when you dont really knowbtw it means i wasnt being mean.. i know what the hell im talking about.. i backed up some of what you said. and i backed up some of what i said.. its...
