I would go to a junk yard... Or check ebay. The lowes we have here dosent sell any automotive grade bolts. If you can find a farm supply store they ususaly carry an assortment of bolts and nuts that are auto grade.
Flowmaster 17231 - Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust Systems - Application - SummitRacing.comLittle over 200 but I think they do free shiping, and It should fit with no modifications where as the ebay one will most likley will need work to fit.
What ever im not gunna argue, but if the op slipped his timing belt during his "hard shift from 1st to 2nd" then there was enough speed for his timing to slip 180 degrees off and therefore no spark.
according to the Haynes manual if the cps and cam sensors do not sence
the cams and crank are set properly it will not spark to protect your valve trainAlso read this post... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/420a-bolt-tech/398148-95-2gnt-no-spark.htmlAnd This post...
Did you check your timing... I doubt that the injectors and the coil would fail at the same time (not saying that it couldent happen) I know for a fact that if you have the timing wrong the car will not spark (myne had the same issue when I bought it, prevous owner didnt set timing right and...
To OP read this site SOMENDER-SINGH.com - 2005 The year in (grooved) picturesMy thoughts are that they are doing this to allow for a better fuel burn on a non hemi-spherical head...
Our 420a heads dont have flat spots that would keep the fuel from getting spread across the piston as they...
Ok I did a search and all I found was info on where to get a UDP, which I might do but my question at this time is what is the proper way to install the crank pulley? The Haynes manual doesnt say anything on how to put it back on. Also anyone with a udp are they easer to put on?
A tap and die set will not get the bolt out but you still may need one. Go to sears and buy an extractor set they range from 5-100 bucks depends on how many sizes and quality. You drill the bolt with the bit that corresponds to the extractor put the extractor in the new hole in the bolt and...
Ok I cant blame the previous owner on this screw up, but I took the head off to replace the gasket and didnt read the manual on tear down process. I piled the lifters and rockers all together with out keeping them in pairs. How bad did I just mess up or will it be ok ?
Did you replace them or some one else... I trusted some one elses work had the same problem, no tb gasket. Check all the bolts and make sure they are tight. Or pull it all off and make sure the gaskets are even there. You can do it with a cheap-o ratchet set from autozone.
Ive heard roumor that the junk yard sells "pull outs" around here for 300-400 bucks. I can check it out and let you know. Im planning on making a trip to texas hopefully in a few months, if your not too far off the route I could drop it by.
yea, i agree with the head bolts but the oil leak seams more than a little... Maybe he ran out of seals and just didnt put those on...
If I could find a good machine shop around here I want to take in the head for a pressure test and get the seals looked at, or if any one knows where I can get...
I think I might of found the problem, a friend suggested valve guide seals so we pulled the head. Two of the head bolts over the number 1 piston where finger tight (i didnt build this btw I bought it not running and fixed the timing problem so it would spark, it smoked bad and i parked it). I...
Thanks for the Partsdinosaur.com tip ive searched the web for days on end when i first bought this car... never saw that site. Yea just doing a "quick" rebuild just to get her back on the road with out smoking me and others behind me out. gunna do rings and valve seals, since the guy i bought it...
Need new pistons and rings for my car. I am looking on CI motorsports, the build is just to get her going untill i get the cash to build the piss out of her.
My question is out of the 3 sets here on CI what should I get are the cheap ones any good or should i get the wiseco ?Pistons - CI...
I dont know what all he did or didnt do, Im thinking Im just going to tear her all the way down and start all over. I want to paint her black any way, and it just looks hideous when you open the hood and its got a red engine bay with a black exterior. The head was already on when I got...
I have a similar issue, not sure if it lost power though. Just got it put back together after buying it from some kid that tried to rebuild it and gave up. Drove it a bit and it smoked like hell on take off only. Went to put a header on it and one of the ports was covered in oil. Any thoughts...
I emailed the company about possibly making a clear timing cover for the 420a. They said there is not enough interest in the product. If anyone else is interested I would be glad to make a list and petition the maker for the product.
whats the matter you keep a dirty engine ?haha, I personally think it would look kool, and besides you spent the $200.00 or better on adjustable timing gears might as well be able to look at em.They would be the only aftermarket/new timing covers I have ever seen spent a month looking for a...
Well I did only search this forum.... but in my quest to find a detailed "engine removal" turorial I have found many post with people asking and 2-3 ways to get it out but no one has done a detailed (pictures included) thread on how to remove...
since this seams to be aimed at me some how... I KNOW ALL THAT. what Im saying why are others on the other post saying that "stroking" the 2.0l 420a some how makes it a different motor. Its still the same block, and still n/a. So if the 2.2l stroker kit is only changing the stroke you can still...
I never said it wasnt N/A sroked... i was aksing why others implied that stroking it some how made it not the same motor. and the stoke the 4g 1.8l to 2.4 why cant we...
I have a question in the link to "how hard" some people made it seem that stroking the motor no longer makes it a 420a N/A... how dose that work its still the same block with no turbo. You could easly "not cheaply" build quite a bit of hp with a 2.4 sroke.
"headers" is the generic term for the things. its like pants man you only wear 1 pant why do we call em a pair and pants.
Also the name of the company is "Headman Headers" so....
ok i did a search and found nothing, My question is what is the best way to take the engine out of the 420A n/t 2nd gen eclipse gs. Ive looked throught the haynes manual and didn find any thing on it. Any help would be great thanks.
Just an FYI although most of you might know. I found that cimotorsports.net dose a TB bore to 55mm for like 69 bucks or you can buy one for like 120 already done...
Well let me say fisrt off google sucks. Second i have looked and all that stuff is prefab. i am looking for the exhaust manifold flang the part that would bolt to the head so i can get my own tube and weld my own manifold.P.S i found one... first link on Bing.com
had to edit my wording on...
go to napa auto parts and get a cam clamp or a cam gear holder, and clamp them gears down... if you dont they like to jump a tooth when you pull the pin on the tensioner.
Ok I did a search for this and all i found was 4g36 stuff. I was wondering what is the pros or cons of tube over a cast turbo manifold. I have been looking at a few diffrent turbo manis one is the obx tube and the other is the only cast 420a mani on ebay. I have a stock turbo off a GSX that i...
Go to advanced auto or orileis and rent a cryslter harmonic balancer removal tool. Once you get it throw some ball bearings in the whole (youll know what im talking about when you get it.) then put the push rod in on top of that. It will come right off.
Ok first question i got a stock turbo off a 4g36 eclipse for $65 its got low miles on it and feels tight. Second question where can i find a diagram to find out how to hook up all the oil lines and coolaint lines ?
I just wanted to say hello to all the 420a guys and gals. My name is james, and i am working on a 97 420a n/t eclipse. I plan on converting it to turbo some day, but money is not all there right now. If I posted this in a no no area i appologize in advance.
