Just to give some input. I'm on a fp68hta with the 8cm hotside and on 94Oct, 20psi and 13* timing up top I'm at 320whp. Ecmlink shows 38-39lbs a minute and around 390hp. Not sure how accurate that is but the 320whp was off the dyno. I'm internal gated as well and lose almost 2psi at 7100rpms...
Yeah I was gonna run a grimspeed 3 port electronic boost controller but just stuck with the manual for now...should try the other one and see how that differs.
No problem man...I knew you weren't bashing. Is a bit of lag but the pull up top is nice :) also I'm gonna be running water/meth with this turbo and go as far as I can with it :) should be fun
Awesome man, thanks for your comment. For a second there I was starting to kinda feel disappointed but your input definitely helped! I've read around the forums a lot but never seen much feedback about the new version so I wasn't sure what I should be expecting. This is my first real build and...
Yeah I feel like it's a lot of lag! I'm wondering if something with my setup is creating that? Or that's just how the newer version 68 reacts? I have an ETS race intercooler kit and on stock intake manifold but it's extrude honed. Also running speed density. I guess I'll just make my decision on...
Thanks for the input. I'll be turning it up once I'm done breaking the engine in. I've also noticed in my graph that the TQ just goes completely flat after 4500rpm...anyone have any input on that? I actually haven't driven the car yet. I will be in Washington picking it up Friday
Nice man...I'm planning the same thing. I wanna max it out on pump gas and see how it does. I won't be turning it up this year though...I'll be putting it in the garage for the winter here pretty quick but I'll have enough miles on the engine to be comfortable enough to assume it's ready :) Hope...
Yeah I totally understand man. I hated to do it myself but I had a little extra cash so I just did it. I hope you can maybe find the exact cause and let us know.
I just finished my build and went through the same thing. The GSC lifters sat too high and the valves weren't closing...I just pulled them and replaced them with the 3g lifters. I just figured that the stiffer spring they use maybe causes them to sit a little higher which you need to machine the...
I currently have a build coming together now with a 68hta ported and 8cm housing. I'll post the dyno sheet soon as it's finished which shouldn't be too much longer. It will be tuned with Link V3, speed density and 94 Oct, S2 cams, 1120cc injectors and ETS race front mount. Excited to see how it...
Theres something I don't understand here...lol....Everyone that is trying to defend FWD is all saying the same thing. If you want good track times get an AWD but if you want fun on the street then get FWD but isn't fun on the street when you can haul up to some cobra mustang or corvette or just...
I have the exact same setup as you MacDizzle on my 1g and the car sits perfect on the front but on the drivers side it sits two fingers tight and three on the passanger side. Tried swapping and everything and the setup isn't old anyway its fairly new. The only other thing i noticed the other day...
Hey man I've been out of town for awhile. I still have your number and will be giving you a call to check the car out soon. Coming along nicely :-) What shop is doing your engine work?
7500 Canadian for my 90 tsi, mint with only 117xxx kms, full evo3 setup never seen rain or snow. 2500 for my 90 tsi winter talon, runs excellent new turbo and new stock bottom end.
Edmonton/fort mcmurray here running a 90 tsi AWD with evo 3 and supporting mods. Have to get some meets happening next summer, even if a few ppl get together and meet with the dsm's in calgary:thumb:
Yeah it took alot of research until i came across this little trick but it totally solved the problem. Anyone who has checked everything on their car 3 and 4 times now and still are having spool issues HAVE to give this a try and let us know your result.:thumb:
I have been doing lots of research on this problem with people and myself have slow spoolup with the evo 3 16g and i have came across a tip that I just tried and worked like magic! Alot of the problems seem to be the wastegate rod not holding the flapper tight. A quick fix until you can get a...
