Ideally you want to remove the "lip" where the center ring goes in the housing. It looks like you still have a little bit of a lip.

Never said leaning it out was wrong or hacking it. I said using a safc is hacking and wrong when you have a PERFECTLY GOOD REFLASHABLE ECU to do it the CORRECT WAY instead of rigging it with a safc.

That makes so much sense, lets lean out the ecu at wot by tricking it and hacking the ecu wires instead of just doing it right the first time! Sounds like you have a lot to learn about these cars. ANY stock dsm can benefit from a PROPER TUNE.

Are you sure your tcase is in good working order?

Why are you using a safc when you have a reflashable ecu. Sell the safc and get the openport cable so you can actually tune the correct way. The safc is probably most of your problem being youve tapped into ecu wires.

jumped rad fan hi relay pin 1 to ground, fans turn on. So apprentley i have power at the ecu, at the relay, but its not grounding to activate the relay for some reason.

update: fans kick on with key on engine off. when key on engine running it doesnt kick the fans on.

figured it out. moved pin 32 on evo ecu to pin 21.

Car doesnt have a/c and both fans are wired to the main fan connector on the passenger side.

Just realized ecuflash doesnt have mafcomp its maf scaling or maf smoothing.

I thought you had to adnust the iniector scaling for wot? And do i adjust maf comp up or down to make it richer wot?

yes it is. if im correct, to get my afr to match the open loop table wot, id have to decrease my scaling to make it richer right?

does latency have an effect over wot afr

you opposite click on injector scaling click edit map then hit scalings and it has dsm scaling and evo. they do not however have evo latency

yeah but you should still be able to connect to evoscan with the key on and log with the engine off. if it connects with evoscan ecuflash is the problem.

I used that wiring diagram in my 92 tsi awd with no issues. I did have an issue with it starting up and dieing but it wasnt related to the ecu wiring.

Is there any way to tune speed density without a maf on caddy mods? My latencies on a maf are nowhere near what they should be and it idles rich no matter what. If I switch to sd and use the recommended latencies it startsand idles perfect, but needs fine tuned especially when cruising.

here is a log from evoscan. My front o2 is my wideband. Its not cycling like it should and the afr was 13:1.

They are the tan 1600s. I had them on a previous 2g and they worked fine. I am thinking an injector is stuck open. I cant get the afrs under 13:1.

Update: I was at the garage working on it last night and I'm getting nowhere with the tune. It is still idling rich then leaning out and stalling.

Car still isnt running right. I fixed 2 injector plugs and it helped a lot. I verified mechanical timing, swapped coil packs necaise of coil pack cel, swapped to a maf, and its still running rich then leaning out. I tried locking it in open loop and it ran for awhile then died.

Thank you. Lots of work still needs to be done but taking it one step at a time.
