just to throw a little more on the fire here.... here is a link to a rwd build using an srt motor (again, same bell housing bolt pattern)Think this will fix my traction problem and breaking junk neon trannys? - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forumthe adapter plate used in that...
There are companies that sell adapter plates to allow several different rwd transmissions to bolt up. Contact Darrel cox racing, or real tuned performance. I think both of them have options available.
Nice! Cant go wrong with a BW turbo! I've been running an S256 on my SRT-4 for a few years now with absolutely zero issues, and it has seen up to 28psi on the dyno.
man that sucks it happened so far from home! Mine recently went in my talon, but i was just across town when it started acting up and didnt actually fail until in my neighborhood.good luck with it. I bought one of the XTD stage 4 clutches... havent put it all back together yet, but hopefully...
i usually recommend using a load leveler when pulling an engine. This allows for 4 points of contact with the engine as well as the ablility to tilt the motor either which way you need to to make it clear. It really comes in handy when you're pulling a motor and transmission together.I just...
I finally got around to installing the master and ss line on wed, adjusted the pedal... No difference.Guess the transmission will be coming out now. Damnit.
I think I posted earlier in the thread that I don't know what clutch is in the car. I was told it's a "comp 6 puck" clutch, which is vauge and doesn't really tell you much. The clutch pedal has always been really stiff. As for your idea, that won't work in my case. I considered that option, so...
Based on the suggestions ive gotten i went ahead and ordered a new master cyl and a ss braided line from the master to the slave.Once the parts come in I'll install them and report back. Thanks for the help!!
The swap was done by a previous owner. I'd be willing to bet its a stock motor. Supposedly it has about 70k miles on the motor.I'm just going to go ahead and order a new master cylinder. I'll swap those out and see what happens. If that turns out not to be the issue, then i know it's...
See i thought about this too... because i knew one sign of crank walk is some clutch issues. But i would think if that was the case it wouldnt happen randomly and so suddenly. I would think it would gradually get worse and worse. but Thats a guess as i have no experience with crank walk. My car...
I forgot to mention i replaced the slave cyl before i bled the hydraulics. The bleeder screw was stripped (somehow) and wouldn't tighten. So rather than trying to find another bleeder screw and having to deal with potentially stripped threads in the slave i just bought a new one.
Yes i've searched!Little back story:
Car was driving perfect. I drove to my buddies house just fine. When i left the car was different. 3rd gear kept grinding and the gears where notchy. I got it home. And now the clutch wont disengage.Things i've done to try to fix the issue...
this is my boy on the right. The dog on the left was my roommates dog. My boy is about a year younger than the blue and was raised up around him since he was about 6 month old. Randomly one day the two started fighting. The blue was always the aggressor. We ended up having to keep them...
i would be if you're hearing the leak from down around the intercooler, but dont see a leak at the pipes, it's the intercooler itself. Check it for any damage, nicks, or dents.
i would check everything along the path of the shifter to see if you can figure out why the car got harder to shift. check the shifter bushings as well as the cables, and the brackets that the cables attach to.
i have dealt with them on several occasions and the only negative impression i got was with them tuning my buddies rsx. You have to keep in mind that most of their experience is in the honda world, so it's quite possible they dont know all the tricks for the dsms. Jimmy is a good guy, he just...
hell i just got out of a 10 month "relationship" with a married chick.... do what you gotta do... and have some balls about it. Who cares who see's you do what you wanna do for the girl... damn.
check out CentralGaRacing.com - Index page for a better idea of whats going on in the area.im in macon twice a week for class. i wouldnt mind checking out your car. Though i may try to steal your front bumper... My talon is up on jacks at the moment so you'd have to deal with seeing my...
this is 100% incorrect. No SRT-4 has never had the option, or came standard with AWD.i understand that last part is your opinion, but i'd have to say that is very very debatable. From what i've seen, the aftermarket is currently about the same. However, the market for the srt's does seem to...
I'm still learning more and more about the dsm's. Both the dsm and Nsrt-4 motor's seem somewhat similar in what they can handle in stock forms. With the right tuning and maintenance, both can make ample amounts of power and tq.That being said, i did manage to sling a rod in the motor in my...
Thanks!
best 1/4 i've gotten in the Neon is a 12.1 @124mph. On drag radials. The car has the power & mph to have much faster times, i just need more practice. I'm always working when the local track is open.I dont really mind the wheels that are on my car, but they are painted black...
the orange and black wheels are sort of a love it or hate it sort of thing. I needed to coat the wheels to keep them from rusting again so i went a little... um.... different, with them. Plus it was my first attempt at powdercoating wheels. I didnt really care how they turned out.
Thanks guys! I am having fun with it so far. Unfortunately the first time I really went WOT in the car I broke a shifter cable going into 2nd gear. No big deal, I ordered new cables and solid shifter bushings. Should arrive on Tuesday.
Well i've been browsing this forum for a while now. I figured i'd go ahead and post up and introduction so i can get started on my post count. Not having all the features of the forum is quite annoying! hahaAnyways I just picked up a 96 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD about a month ago. It had a blown...
