I know that when the purge control valve is stuck open it tends to have the same issue that you're describing. When you open your gas cap is there pressure behind it?
A dolly is a piece of metal used to shape the steel. It's used as a guide when using a body hammer. You push on the low spots while hammering lightly on the high spots to try and work the metal back in place. If you sandwich the body between the dolly and hammer you'll end up stretching the...
Why would anybody consider this a total loss. The dent isn't that bad and rust can be patched. Replacing the whole panel is a lot more work then fixing the dent. There are several products on the market that a lot of body shops don't use that would fix this where you would have never known it...
Pull the inside panel and push on it the best you can. Don't go crazy with a hammer because you'll end up stretching the metal. You'll need a special hammer and dolly to work the metal back into place as best as possible. Then no more then 1/8" filler in the low spots. If anything right now take...
I have a question and would like a little more direction. Currently I have a MHI big 16G with a tore up exhaust turbine. My plans before I found this were to get a 20G billet compressor wheel. I am looking for 400awhp or at least really close. At this point should I just go get a 20G or some 50...
I'm assuming you're talking about my comment when you asked about what it took to do the conversion. In the write up it mentioned what I said about the three supports and moving the middle one up. I really don't remember all that I did, it was a few years ago. I eventually just got a harness off...
Just look for tail lights, bumper, and reverse lights and you could probably do the swap yourself. I did mine with minimal tools at the time. Now, there isn't a thing on the car I haven't touched. When or if you decide to do the front end, its as easy as taking off and putting on a new bumper.
I have a Talon and I did the Eclipse conversion. The hardest part is the rear bumper support. It's welded to the car, it has to be removed and relocated. There are three of them. Also the wire harness is a little different. You can get it to work but it's not a perfect fit.
Did you notice a difference? Also, any plans on taking the ducting all the way to the radiator?I've thought about something similar, I'd probably put some kind of weather stripping around the aluminum.
BEFOREAFTERThere has been A LOT of changes between these two pictures, to include a body kit, a couple engines, and a few paint jobs before settling on this final look.
I didn't read all of the posts but you should get matching tires all around on an AWD car. Also your BOV should have its own dedicated line, I use the one off the intake manifold.
Instead of making a new thread ill just ask here.I have a 96 and the charcoal canister is located under the battery. With the two big lines one goes to the intake, where does the other one go?
I've looked through a couple pages and haven't seen anything as far as any kind of meet going on soon. I'm at ft. Bliss right now for school and I wanted to do something this weekend. Is there anything, anything at all going on this month in el paso?
If I would have stayed with my stock Talon headlights it would have fit better around the lights. I centered the bumper on the opening and the sides, the light openings were off.I told the guy at the shop what year car I had. He walked back and got the kit. I looked at it through all the...
Wow. So what is with the offset with the tires, why did you go wider in the back? Are you trying to keep the back from kicking out?Thats some bulge you have going on there. What made you put 255's on a 7" wide wheel?
You have to be carefull with body kits. A lot of them have fitment issues. Nothing a little bit of body work can't fix though. This was a few years ago when I still had the kit. I have since changed it to what it looks like in my pic on the side. I liked it but I didn't like the attention I was...
I have some EVO 9 wheels as well and I'm about to powdercoat mine. I'm having a tough time deciding as well. I want that black chrome color IF I can. Almost compared to that duplicolor graphite gray.
I would like to see you tune your car with your desk top!I move around a lot and use my laptop almost every day. Laptops may not be best for everybody but I know it's the best for me. I could not bring a desk top to Iraq or Afghanistan. I use my laptop for everything. Games, internet...
I'm not a fan of them either but I say get it. If you can save something rare like that with parts from a wrecked car. I say its worth it. I think with all the plans that you have (even down to the license plate) you already decided on getting it.Once you do get it. It would be pretty...
It's to easy, pull the oil pan off, take the caps off the rods, check to see if the crank is still good, if you can't tell my looking at it use a guage or plasti guage, if anything is out of spec then you know to pull that rod or your crank, or both. You might have to replace your crank. MIGHT...
It looks like you already have your mind made up. You talked about exactally what you want to do with the candy apple red. I guess I don't understand. Do you want us to decide for you which way you should go? It's your car, make it any color you want. Go pink if that is what makes you happy...
Were the EVO wheels that you were running. I thought you were on Eibach Sportlines before the swap to the Pro Kit.Your running 255's and 245's on a 7" wide wheel?
I rushed into things because I was so excited to get the car I always wated. I messed it up right away and I'm now in the process of fixing my mistakes and making the car better at the same time.
I've got a 66' Chevy Impala convertable that I'm restoring. It has the original 283 engine, transmission and the original rochester carb. all re-built.Also in the works is a 68 Camaro. I don't have many plans for it yet. It's an auto and I plan to keep it that way. Maybe drop a L76 from the...
Thats actually a pretty tough question. It all goes by condition, year, and area the DSM is in. I would say for an earlier 2G with a few mods and taken care of shoud be around $5,000 or so. Thats just a guess.2G DSM'sEclipse:
GS-T, turbo front wheel drive
GS-T Spyder, turbo front...
Awww, man. You were going in the right direction. He had an RS then he put a turbo on it right? RS-T, N/A with turbo?IF your buddy was claiming 400hp out of a N/A without a turbo then I wouldn't take him.Either way, this car will get you addicted.
Just make sure you have a chance to look over the car before you get one. Take a buddy with you if your unsure of what you are doing. A lot of people like to do a compression test on turbo cars before they buy them, just to make sure there isn't any problems.Oh, and welcome to the site. Make...
What are you going to do for the winter months?I would say try and keep your 1G and see what the bank can give you. See if you can have both. I have 4 cars because I can't get rid of them. I love them to much and each one has its purpose.
"I" would say don't go chrome, or at least don't go overboard with it. Go into the photo galleries on here to look at other people's cars or google it. That way you can get an idea what it will look like.
I say keep looking. You will find a better deal out there. Either on the regular sites or in the classifieds on this site. Why not put the EVO head on your car and turbo your current one?
I have an ebay radiator. Once I switched it out I didn't have any more cooling issues. I bought it years ago so I don't remember what brand it is. The plastic drain plug on mine is still holding up. Let me see if I can find the recipt to see who makes it.
So with a painted wheel, when you go to balance it will there be an issue getting the weights to stick to the paint without worrying about them peeling the paint off? I understand that if the proper prep work is applied that the paint shouldn't budge. Is this just me being worried?
Some pipes come with a bit of a flair at the end to aid this from happening.I know my SBR pipes have that bump. You may also look into welding a bead around the end to create a bump so it's harder to slip off. I have also heard of people useing hairspray on the pipe to keep it in place a little...
