14b turbos are cheap and very capable. I am however in favor of the 20g. especially since you already have one. I ran one on an awd auto talontuned running 26psi. it was a nice unit I'd go 20g any day if I come across one chhhheaap! or my personal favorite hx35-40 with The bep housing!
I've seen the Bel housing in the classifieds.I have yet to see it on beps, xpsi, sbr...anyone's site..i guess its a super secret upgrade you've got to go out by their dumpsters give the secret. nod, hand shake and maybe your going to see this mythical creature...maybe you'll even get a retail...
frosted lime is awesome. I love the good old 70s muscle car molar colors..plum crazy purple etc.. we drive modern molar import muscle mutts any how...if you like gray or silver, scion has this creamy flat gray color that is really a.nice look. Wish I knew the name/code...
if your putting a muffler that's definitely the way to go, cops/emissions wouldn't appreciate this get up around here.. I'd probably put an electric dump in before the cat. then you can have quiet and obnoxious at a buttons push.
I've had and seen many people have issues with aftermarket pp/flywheel/clutches. For such a simple system it seems the DSM has a difficult bleed. I've got a vacuum bleeder, I've tried speed bleeders, I've tried gravity, I've tried having a buddy, you name it. My advice is.....1.Check the...
It's strange you asked this... My miata was vandalized and the stock wing was virtually snapped. I planned on fiberglassing it, but I may attempt to just bond it, and hit it with some fiber filler instead.awaiting the results as to what's the best fit....
I just checked out the wire tuck. It came out incredible. That is super clean. I'm feeling motivated to try this. Your wire piles and pictures of the nightmares are scary.... I may still be dumb enough to try it lol.
I've always wanted to do a wire tuck and it seems the 1g ends up super clean after it's done. I just picked up a 90 fwd laser rst so I may be using your diagrams and a little inspiration to tackle this over the summer.
I put a cd player in the new 90 laser rs-t fwd. I also bought a new alternator belt to replace the old dried out old one. Tomorrow I'll put that on.I'm loving having a running DSM once more. I also never had a fwd DSM out of the 7-8 I've owned. It's a blast especially in snow and rain lol.
I'm really looking for a 929rr, 954rr, 1000rr, hayabusa, zx14, black or super black bird or an r1. In that order. I had a few 600's but I'm a big guy and I've been riding for years. I need to get a 900+ at this point. A 250 would never do it for me
Earlier this week I picked up the newest dsm in my car owning quest!1990 laser rst fwd turbo, 240k on body, red and interior is tan/chocolate LOL!!!
safc tuner, wideband o2, boost gauge, k&n filter hacked box, mbc, fidanza flywheel exedy clutch/pp, uicp tial bov, swwwweeeeeeet! Gatorade...
120 on the body, 500 on the new/about to be rebuilt again engine. No I want to keep them with it, sorry. She's always been in a garage, as of this month there sitting out under car covers. I got to get them fixed some how or sold..
I just finished dumping tons of time/money into a rebuilt 6 bolt and swapping it in to my 95. After 500 miles the new oil pump seized stripping the timing belt thus bending the valves. I picked up an addition head and parts OEM timing belt and things. It ran great, however now it needs to...
haha ...I just suffered a perfect storm of issues with timing.fresh build, 500 miles...1. oil pump locked up (I didn't lock tire the bse stub) dumbass..if you eliminate the BS and I suggest you do. cut the shafts or install the stub with red lock tite2. the non-oe timing belt stripped...
Soo happy to have her growl again. Sef. don't give up. Even if you find yourself back tracking numerous times. The end results are well worth it. I've actually owned this car twice since 00 or 01 lol I really am a glutton for punishment.
About 2 years ago my 95 GSX began it's journey of a 6 bolt rebuild/swap.Last summer I got the engine back from the machine shop and put her back together. Upon completion wheels back on, she hit the floor AND of course it's a DSM so the clutch didn't disengage. I found myself...
That thing is sweet!I haven't been on here in FORRREVERRRRR! I just lost my job and I've had tons of spare time, which resulted in the miata back up and running and FINALLY! the DSM is out of the garage and done under it's own power!I've had some new experiences on craigslist I'd...
OH DEAR GOD! Today, I have had my favorite Craigslist moment EVER.Dueche bag e-mails me trying to low ball the item to death. I told him no, then I said we'll go half way on the asking price, to his price. still he wasn't happy. I had to deal with 10 e-mails back and forth and all this...
I have a horrible feeling I'm having an issue with step height clearance...some how... although it was previously installed and functional. Then again so was the clutch master cylinder which I had to replace....
Yea, I've seen tons of people have issues with that temp sensor.A bad cas could also be a culprit. Once you, get it together plug/connect etc. Post up and we'll take it from there.
You can check for compression with a compression tester. If you just built it though the numbers should be lower than what they will be when seated. But if you get a cylinder with 0 or they are all 100 and one or two are at 20. It would be a clear indicator that is causing it.However...
This is the epic truth. I have friends swear up and down they never had an issue and blah blah...I personally had a rag get sucked into the cam gears during start up. It was enough to bend and break numerous valves instantly. It also shattered some of the rollers in the process...
If you can get back to the sub frame, tube out from there. Angle that bear with it's outlets up. Good luck that monster is going to be a bieach to finalize.
Your hydraulic system is leaking or your master cylinder is bad.I just did a full rebuild installed it and could not get the clutch system bled. We replaced the master and got good pressure however. I still can not get the damn clutch to disengage. I have an extended slave rod to see if...
Yo hook me up wit dat package deal my dude? You should have got his address and mailed him a go flip yourself card... He needs one now and at Christmas just to let him know you are thinking of him. hahaYea I truly don't appreciate people any more. I feel their natural plane of existence...
This happened to me during my first 4g build and I had a panic attack because nothing had said this would occur. As stated, on here as you can imagine many people have come to this cross road.Based on the issue with these washers you would think after 10 years they would have been made that...
I literally just got one of those today too. haha. The ad title says Geo Tracker 5 speed. The ad also indicates it is a 5 speed.Still doesn't stop a guy from asking if it was a 5 speed.....And how bad the rust is under the car, although I would expect people to say if it was...
I personally can't get into WRX or EVOs. I HATE the concept of a fast 4 door car. It just doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather drive a 740il or an S Class which has a strong engine, and is extremely comfortable and luxurious. Factory the v8 in my year 7 pushed 295 hp 30X torque. After an...
While I have the engine out I usually have the head and block at the machine shop to be checked for any possible issues be it cracks, true flat deck surface, cylinders are nice and smooth etc. I take the head gasket I've chosen along and have them match the head/block to it's specifications. I...
It's the lack of these cars that prevented me from parting out the super clean 2ga I just bought with a nightmare under the hood.A few guys on here via poll saved it haha...My baby which has been garage kept for the last 10+ years had to have an engine replacement due to a rag sucked into...
Ehh.. That's apples and oranges.I never sold a rolling chassis for more than 500-600. I don't think that's a terrible price to buy or sell a shell pretty fair for both parties. I never bought/sold shells when I was younger though because there we're 500.00 cars so if it had no engine I...
I'm not sure how those two posts contradicted each other....Unless your referencing the Tracker I'm selling which comes with a literal entire tracker worth of parts including a 16 valve engine to swap, ecu, harness, trans, t case, diffs, half shafts, hubs 2 sets of wheels, body parts, seats...
Rebuilding isn't cheap. I did a few engines, and I'd say no matter what. From pulling the engine, to purchasing specialty tools, and finally driving it back out of the garage. It's going to cost 1,000 if things go well. I've had things go poorly and turned that into 2,000 real quick.I'd...
I've had good responses from other postings like appliances and furniture. I even once had a nice smooth transaction with a Tracker I posted. I asked 1,200 was offered 1,200 and sold it the same day, he picked it up the next day.My worst experience was selling that Jeep. I swear it was...
TODAY I get these e-mails in response to an ad for my Geo tracker 8v enginewith a spun rod bearing, otherwise is a great off-road machine that is street legal. I also have a 16v engine and entire car worth of parts already disassembled to go along with it at a dirt cheap price. I mean like 650...
I printed out these nice 2.5x6 cards black with a nice gold border, gold writing. G.F.Y. (Go FLIP YOURSELF cards) I give these out to people... lots of people. haha Especially these people from Craigslist. .....And I don't explain it, it's hilarious and makes me feel much better..I...
+1 on the DSM's getting scrapped or at least getting HEAVILY molested. If you go to crazedlist and search a ton of regions for turbo dsm. The results will bring a tear to your eye. BLOWN: engine****, turbos, trans**, t-caseEvery day DSM are being gutted and parted out. It's a sad...
