Go to advanced auto buy some 18mm (at least mine were 18mm, you might have to bring the turbo's in like I did to match em up) barbed brass water fittings, and then some rubber hose and clamps... Both will have similar fittings and both accept the rubber line...
Ok guys please dont make fun of me for this but I been around the block for a very long time with these DSM's now I have a stock rod / piston rebuild on my 4g63 6 bolt. I know the 6 bolt rods are stronger but exactly how strong? I just got this Comp triple BB turbo rated at 550 HP and I been...
well now im going to sound crazy but not only did my girlfriend buy my AFC NEO but she also helps me work on it! like this past weekend shes 30 weeks pregnant, was a trooper and helped me install that COMP turbo... now thats a keeper gentlemen
Alrighty thank you for your input... Like I said I never ran a BB before so... just wanted to make sure everything was ok. Comp also sent me an inline filter and an oil restrictor and the restrictor they sent me, the hole inside it is only about the size of a pin head... duno if thats normal or...
i understand what your saying but were you able to view my video... I mean this turbo dont sound right to me for being brand new...here is the link again <param name="movie"...
Hey guys just got the CT3B triple ball bearing turbo from comp. They sent me out a BB turbo because the old turbo (journal bearing) took a shit 2 times and so they upgraded me for free!! which is awesome but I have a concern... I have attached a file of the turbo and it spinning by hand (just...
Listen im sure the timing belt jumped time. Anyways take the good head and put it on the "bad motor" assuming cylinder number 1 dosnt have a hole in the top of the piston. If so swap pistons out. good luck
yeah I ave a suggestion.... check the crank sensor right under the alternator. See if its plugged in first if not then its prob dead. Had this happen to me and thats all it was. Starter would not work and fuel pump would not turn on. I hope this helps!!
No problem man. Let me know whats up tomorrow and I will jump on. If need to you can give me a call and I will try to walk ya through it or help diagnose whats going on. I have a lot of experience with the 420a's.Oh yeah one more thing... If by chance the crank sensor came unplugged, or took a...
yes. If you can crank the engine over by hand feeling a little bit of pressure on the compression stroke I would imagine or at least it sounds ok maybe just a tooth off at the bottom? pull the cover off see put it in TDC at the bottom and then see if the timing marks up top on the cams are lined...
yeah man I would not run it... You may have actually changed the way the piston could behave. It may tear a rip in the cylinder wall or something. This may sound stupid but you may have changed the rotating mass (not by weight) but by angle.. think of your engine unbalanced.... this could and I...
ahh I would not turn the cams if you have the belt off unless the motor was in top dead center. What you should have done was with the timing belt still on should have turned the motor over by hand, until top dead center was located on the crank. If you found TDC and seen the cam marks didnt...
tell ya an easier way... haha i got a lot of experience in this as well. Pull off the valve cover, and look at the springs... If they are loose and when u touch them if they fall out of place with the cams still bolted down then yeah you definitely have bent valves..... I done this before...
ok listen I have a lot of experience with this... If the car is from NY then you will have to contact a DMV or notary public within the state and do a VIN search now they wont be able to tell you the name of that person; however, you can ask them to send a notice to the owner of the car and it...
dang.... im still wondering why there are so many different opinions.... precision says this, garrett says this, and comp says this..... I use to be a 420a guy built blah blah, and never had this prob wit turbos... I had a precision 60-1 ran 22PSI all day long, hot shut off's, cold starts and...
well now im totally confused...... I was running the oil feed from the oil filter housing because the guy who i got the car from plugged up the oil feed at the head and cant get that bolt out...... so my only way of getting oil to this thing is from the oil filter hosing, and from what I heard /...
Ok here is the story they were both standard 360 thrust bearings, -4an oil feed and -10an oil drain... I talked to Joe D. The owner of Comp. He is going to issue me a Ball Bearing Cartridge at NO COST!!!! These guys are AWESOME!!!!!! So I am supposed to have the BB installed and then go from...
So anyways here are my 2 experiences with comp turbos..... I bought a T3/T4 Comp turbo.... it started smoking about 500 miles after the engine was rebuilt.... totally blew apart about 600 miles..... car ran great with it making upto30 PSI on it. pulled hard..... anyways they warranted the turbo...
lets see im on my 9th DSM haha they are sooo much fun... 24 hrs eh... im like the rest of the guys here im sure i got 1000's of hours on mine... Prime example 90 AWD talon i use to have head gasket popped ok replaced it, put it back in time (did not know I had to roll the engine over by hand...
Hey all here I got a lil problem wit my 96 GSX... its got a 6 bolt 50 trim turbo, SAFC NEO, 680cc injectors or 660's whatever... Ok here is the problem anytime I go UPHILL and give it about 20-30% throttle and making about from anywhere 5inches of mercury (vacuum) up to 5 lbs of boost (usually...
yeah the shop next level racing did all the work to it... They did a wonderful job! anyways yeah i should have thought of that 15 pounds isnt that much for that size turbo.... im crankin it to 25 tomorrow! haha cant wait, I mean its a monster at 15 cant wait to see what 25-30 does! thanks guys
hey everyone i just got the GSX back today... really excited, runnin 15PSI on the comp 50 trim... But I am wondering why the turbo is sooo quiet.. not the exhaust the turbo spool... its really quiet..... anyone know why?
Well my father passed away back in june so he left me the house, and im currently working 2 jobs just to keep up with bills ect... I work with people who have developmental disabilities also a CNA with this company, and the other I am a rehabilitation tech.... So yeah bills are piling up and...
man.. personally if it were me... id pull the motor and get the eagle crank and while your at it might as well as hone the cylinders and re ring it as well..... Oh yeah please make sure that, that crank is BALANCED to the weight to the pistons and rods that you are using. People tell me all the...
Do yourself a favor... get a set of accel's 36lb injectors (390cc), get an afc and then tune. I was running 36lb injectors with a T3/T4 60-1 or the super 60 trim at 22PSI and fuel was at +1 to +3 throughout the whole RPM band and not once did it go lean... Trust me it was a big turbo
Bearings man... was the crank balanced? the rod bearing will cause the fluctuation in pressure.... time to change them. Trust me I have had this happen. on my old 420a at idle cold 60+PSI after it was warm maybe 12PSI.... any lower and a bearing would have been thrown and well BOOM! change em...
let me ask this... when its revving to 4.5k are you guys still holding the accelerator down? I mean think about it.. there is absolutely no load on the engine and by revving or giving it throttle of course its going to rev that high. I need some more info though to help diagnose your problem...
well for 170K im sure its still running strong but i doubt there is a problem..... is it an auto or 5 speed? if its a 5 speed try being in the right RPM when accelerating. The cams, although stock, start to really make their power around 3,000 RPM. So I would not find that there is a problem...
