When you call, talk to Brandon, and mention my car and the ecu swap. I bought the ecu on eBay for $100. I also had to buy some bits of software- Evoscan for one. Also, you’ll need to buy the data port interface- https://www.tactrix.com/My Spyder is stored year round inside and on a lift next...
I had a DSMlink, but I had a capacitor fail on the board. The new Evo ecu is very cool- very easy to live with and emissions-friendly. It’s like a mini-stand Aline in its features, which I have t even begun to play with. You should think about doing the conversion.
Hey! Everyone asks about a shop that works on DSMs. In 2019 I had Controlled Motors in Alpharetta do an Evo ecu swap and base tune. Great guys, very professional and knowledgeable.https://www.facebook.com/controlledmotors
I have no idea why there's no reference to the care of the top in the manual; when I got my spyder in '02 I asked the dealer about any special care. They got that "dear in the headlights" look. Th fabric top will soak through pretty quickly; it really needs to be treated to survive any time...
I'm surprised no one recommended this before; try a product called Raggtop. It's made for cloth convertible tops. It will weatherproof your top so that when water hits it, it will bead up and run off. I've used it since i got my Spyder in '02, and since I've never had an issue with water coming...
Thanks. It actually isn't transmission-related. I have an custom EPROM chip which had the stutterbox code, and the computer is looking for the clutch switch. I'm having a new one made that eliminates that altogether.Reid
I have a question, and I'm not sure if it's auto-tranny related or not. I have a 91 GSX with a built automatic. I recently did a bunch of further mods (front mount, sheet metal intake, GT35R, etc) and now I'm trying to dial it in; the problem is that the engine is short-shifting around 4900 RPM...
I have a good friend who had a 2.3 Stroker build by a known, "reputable" builder, and it didn't last 2,000 miles. This car barely saw the street before it ate itself. I also know of several others that have had similar experiences with the same and other builders. My advice- just build a...
Hi All. Does anyone know the sizes of the blue connectors that come with the 18R Intercooler kit for 2G cars? They are made of rubber, and mine are cracking and would like to get replacements in Blue Silicone. The thing is, they are metric and most places have inches sizes. Thanks!
Hi Everyone. Does anyone have instructions on how to get the Stutterbox to work on a 1G GSX Automatic with an MSD DIS-2? I have the instructions a while back but misplaced them.Thank you,Reid
Has anyone out there ever used the Greddy E-Manage fuel computer on a 4G63T? If you have, I'd like to hear how well it works and any impressions on it.Thanks!
I believe I answered my own problem- the line going from the intake manifold to the BOV was torn at the end, and not sealing. Two questions- My "Check Engine" light is on now- can I reset it, or do I have to take it to the dealers?Also- do most people tie the second smaller nipple on the...
Hello! I have a slight problem that maybe you all can help me with; I have a '99 Spyder GST and have recently begun addind some modification- basic bolt on stuff. Today I installed my new Greddy IC pipes and Greddy BOV. It completely transformed the car, pulling REAL, but now I have what feels...
Thanks for the advice, Megaman. I have already purchased a Tokico Suspension kit with Illumina adjustable shocks. I like the fact the set is matched, instead of one person's springs and someone else's shocks.BTW, how do you like your Big T28? I'm thinking of going that route too...
Hello everybody,I recently purchased a '99 Spyder GS-T and am looking for honest advice. I would like to lower it- about 1.5 or around that much, no more. I like the ride right now, and do not want to kill it's drivability (I understand lowering will make it stiffer) I'd like it to handle...
