My friend and I are trying to turbo his 89 BMW 325i. I have all the bolt-ons to make it happen. Only set back is fuel management. This is not a very serious project and I am not going to put lots of money in it. With that said, I refuse to spend $500+ on tuning. My idea is as follows...
So I am in the proses of a rebuild and I am at the final stages. (6bolt awd Talon) One of the things I did was replace the timing belt. The original belt was a Mitsu. belt. I bought a mopar belt. When I started the car the timing belt would walk side to side about 1mm. I took the original...
So the time has come, the clutch is slipping and it is time for a new one. I saw a bunch on ebay for about $100. I am a little skeptical. Has anybody used one...
I am trying to build one and can only find the TB flange but no luck finding the flange for the head. Anybody know where I can get a steel one??? I am sure there are people who have made their own manifolds....
Hey , let me know if you have any luck with finding complete kits, altough making it yourself doesn't seem to be that hard. I am toying with the idea as well...
I am not really trying to save weight but rather clean up my engine bay a little. I guess I can relocate the canister to near the gas tank... But will the charcoal canister get rid of the smell or just collect it and then over time release it?
So I am doing a rebuild and in the process I am taking out the emissions crap. This leaves me with one anoying factor. The fuel tank vent line, i REALLY do not want my car to stick of fuel, anybody have any ideas of how to vent the fuel tank with out just letting it out.
I was reading in the talon manual about poor hot idle, it said to check the wirring for the fp selanoid so i think that you might be on to something...
I paid $5000 for it with all new parts. It was somebody's project car and they never finished it, all it needed was a couple of seals and some good old tunning and now it's in the 12's...
I blew my tranny racing a cobra so the car is down for the winter... but here is another video although the quality sucks.

To be honest with you I have no idea what kind of turbo it is. I got the car with the Turbo and all I know is that it's a 60trim. How can I find out? It says .60 A/R on the turbo and that's it...
Hey guys, over this winter I am planning of rebuilding my 5 speed awd tranny. One option is to send it to shep for a stage 3, but I rather do it myself. Does anybody know where I can purchase performance tranny parts. I.E. gears, synchros, forks and etc.
Hey are you using just the afc to tune those 650 injectors, because from what I can remember the afc is only good for 500 injectors. Try running race gas to see where your knock will go to. This will do a couple of things. If knock goes down then you know the knock sensor is good. Also if...
You definitely do not want to try this. The ECU sends out a 5 volt reference and is only meant for a certain amperage, if you put a resistor and then a palm pilot on that circuit you raise the amps relatively a lot. This in turn can fry your ECU. I would not try this. I would say that the...
Currently I am looking to buy an afpr so that is deffenetly on the list. Will a safc along with a maft not be enough to tune it. Will I really need to upgrade to a dsmlink or similar?
Hey guys so I have two questions. One is, if properly tuned and with all the supporting mods can a stock 4g63 handle a 60 trim at 22psi??? The other questions is what supporting mods will I need to run 22psi with a 60 trim. Current mods are as follows:Fuel:
Walbro 255
MAFT
Apexi SAFC...
Thanks for the advice, I will try those values out. What is dec. air. Mine is TH 1% Ne1. is 10% and same for Ne2? Right now I don't have a datalogger since I lost the software. For that reason I am kind of scared to lean it out to much to the point of bad knock.
I just started to play with tunning, I have my S-AFC set for 25% for Lo and 75% for Hi throttle. When I am in between those values, i.e. 60% throttle, the car starts to build boost but as soon as I hit like 10psi it starts to misfire constantly untill I let off and goes nowhere. Anybody know...
Hey guys, I got my Talon up and running finally now I need to have it dyno tuned, does anybody know of any dyno shops near MA with a 4wd dyno. Please let me know....
So I have an autometer oil pressure gauge, the problem is that I need a prefebly metal braided line and a T fitting to tap in to the metal braided turbo supplie line. Any body know where I can buy this stuff. I tried homedepot, autozone, advanced autoparts and also online and had no luck anywhere.
Hey guys, how is this for an idea. Maybe the coolant is leaking in to the intake manifold and that would explain everything, has anybody had this happen?
I have seen this on many cars, coolant lines going to the throttle body. I have always assumed it was to heat the intake air for better combustion. Anybody know for a fact. Also is there a way that coolant can leak in to the intake manifold due to that?
Hello, I did a search and found nothing, wasn't sure where to post this but though this might work.
So I just bought a '93 Talon AWD with a JDM engine and a bunch of bolt-ons. I was driving the car and it overheated on me. First problem was that the coolant was a light brown color (not oil)...
I already have the old mount out, like you guys said I just cut through the ring and it came out, but it's getting the new one in that sucks, it's to thick. Can i possibly have the wrong one or are they all the same size.
I just took out my old motor mount and it was junk, came out in three peaces, the new polyurethane mount i got now, does not slide inside the motor mount bracket, it looks to big. Are the mounts different sizes or are they all the same. I can't drive my car and have no idea what to do, I tried...
not the same dtc but similar, maybe it will helpSUBJECT: Misdiagnosed Leak Detection Pump Systems With DTC P1494, P0442, P0455, OR P0456

DISCUSSION:
During evaporative system diagnosis, Leak Detection Pumps have mistakenly been replaced. A thorough inspection for...
So, here is the deal... Sometimes when I start my car when it is cold and drive away before it really has a chance to warm up it acts strange. Basically as I pull out I will start accelerating and the car will barely move no matter how hard I am on the throttle. Then after about 5 seconds the...
Open a service manual and see what curcuits are related to your brake switch circuit, and maybe even your brake lights circuit. This stuff must be shorted together somewhere....
You can not just disconnect evap lines like that. The ecu will purge the evap system and if it is disconnected it will not allow that vapor to get to your engine, therefore your car will not get the correct air/fuel ratio. To lean to long and you can say goodbye to the engine all together. So...
yea that is exactly my problem, the pin for ecu power is 80 and it does have voltage there so i already went through that hell, i guess i will have to go though the devil for this one....it's funny though becuase i passed incpestion two times before this, oh well
