I'm dropping a motor from a 95 gst into my 99 gsx and the issue I'm having it the fact that the Cas is on different sides of the head. Rewiring the 95 cas into my 99 harness won't have any negative downsides will it?
I have a new alternator on its way thanks guys.. Do I need to ground my alternator directly to say, the strut tower or is it adequately grounded through the bracket/engine? Previous owner grounded the alternator with a wire
Symptoms: (worst when warm)
Idle when warm: 11-12v, driving: 12.5-13.5
Idle when cold: low 13v, driving: high 13v
Lights dim at idle
when using blinkers, lights ect volts drop considerably especially at idle
Second battery I've gone through in 6 months
Radio will randomly cut out and my gauges...
Well I am not running a cat, there's a test pipe in place and my downpipe worked its way loose so I have a decent exhaust leak so a restriction is unlikely. I ordered a new Bosch sensor for my wideband like 3 weeks ago and still hasn't arrived. When it does I'll see if I'm running too rich
On my 99 GSX.. I was driving down the highway going a steady 80MPH at night for about 20 minutes and after stopping I popped the hood to see my stock exhaust manifold glowing cherry red underneath the heat shield.I've read that this is normal, while others argue it isnt.. I do run pretty rich...
I am doing this route because of the wideband sensor location it damaged the return line. Id rather change the oil return line setup than redo the downpipe
What im gonna do is cut the metal return line near both ends about 2in, and slip a fuel and oil resistant line over the ends with some type of sealant and metal fasteners to keep it in place good.. Any objections? And when I remove the return line, do I need new gaskets or crush washers or...
My oil return line on the GST I just bought is leaking, what hardware will I need to go the SS line route line like on my GSX? The GST is mostly stock.I want to do this without ordering parts. Thanks
I only have one fan installed and whether its on or not, it should not run hot on the highway. I have a fmic and im sure that's the source of my problems. Underhood temps might be ridiculous too. Ill wrap the downpipe tomorrow and report back
I've had issues h my car running hot all the time anywhere from 212f to 224f, hotter on the highway especially during the day. And I can't even use the a/c then the temps will shoot up. I solved the issue by removing my front bumper, and the car stayed near 185c to 190c maybe a tad higher on the...
Drove into a flooded street that I couldn't see and died in water to just below my door.. When I got pushed out, the car turned over a million times before it started, and afterwards hasn't been the same. Now the car will idle till the day is long but when you start to rev it, it'll suddenly...
I like that link, im gonna look into it... And I just remembered something, I removed my throttle body (has the coolant lines connected) and reinstalled after cleaning... I dont recall having any overheating issues befire hand... Hmm
I cant reply easily with the new layout sorry. I have a stock manifold. 230f is normal? And I use ecuflash I can adjust the fans from there so ill try that.. But highway soeeds the fan really doesnt matter, does it?
This sounds similar to my problem. I have a fmic but I know I have decent airflow because my intercooler will suck a piece of paper to it when my fan is on.
99 GSX.
Im having a couple of issues, on the highway Im reaching anywhere from 212f to 220f and with the a/c on temps have gone as far as 230f. In town driving I can run anywhere from 195f to 210f, and with the a/c ill reach approximately 220f.
Also in town running at below 210f, if I do WOT...
My temporary solution was to cut and grind down the underside of my fitting and slid a hose to it from the pump with some clamps.I will order the an bung for urban to weld up for me, I found a barbs fitting.
I replaced the short block on my 21HP B&S Intek motor, and after installing the motor, the riding mower isn't riding as good. It shutters and makes noise, especially when turning and is jerky. I reinstalled the spring on the drive belt tensioner like before. Worked fine before repairing the...
I don't know anything about JIC fittings. Will I have to change the fitting on my ss fuel line to connect it?And urban I thought about that but Im not sure about sizes fitting together correctly. Who is orni?
http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=191124985887This is what I ordered.. LOOKS like steel, but can't be too sure. The woman I talked to about it said they are all aluminum, but had no clue what a bulkhead was so hopefully she has no idea what she's talking about lol. *please be steel*
All I can find is aluminum, Has to be steel so I can weld it to my fuel sending unit. I don't care how long the barb or tube end is, I will cut it to fit my application. Thanks
Go to a credit union bank, and talk to the branch manager directly face to face about a loan. Tell him/her how you will pay off said loan, and make sure you bring proof that you can. If you still get denied then idk man.
I need something that's 8an to barb or tube adapter.. The tube adapters I see all say 50PSI max, and all of them are aluminum. (I want it welded).. And the barb ones look too long (2G AWD tank). I want to connect the fuel pump to bulkhead via fuel hose, I keep blowing the seal. Suggestions?
I don't know about bogus, but personally I only use Mobil 1 10W-30 in the summer, and 5W-30 in the winter on both my gsx and gs and 5W-30 year round in the 05 Tiburon GT.
I just put in the other two without the end bolt and no leaks. Not sure how safe this is but its holding up. For now atleast. Easy out, drill bit kept breaking
Gotchya thanks.. Am I trying to move the lever in and out, side to side or what?Clutch has been adjusted and bled twice, once by me and then by a shop. And yeah it sucks, I had a good launch and got locked out of second lol. &I am leaning towards bad lines or bad bushings or something...
Far passenger side bolt broke flush with the head, how do I remove this?I've seen easy out used before but where this bolt is isn't the easiest place to get to..
I've changed my tranny fluid to redline recently, and its always helped me before. So I looked where the shifter attaches to the transmission and having a friend move the shifter side to side in gear, its definitely moving where its attached to the transmission... So what's that say? Select...
Fuel left for more than a year, oxidation will set in.. This causes guming up, and will clog all kinds of cap once ran. But even worse, fuel is refined... Volatility and the fuels ability to combust are degraded. This is especially bad for our turbo charged cars. Don't take the risk...When I...
They probably live in a place like Kansas. Here in Kansas were lucky enough not to have emissions. :PHowever, we do have some noise restrictions. Cops will pull you over for ripping through a residential neighborhood after dark. I got a ticket for noise pollution when I had my downpipe...
Awesome man thanks for all the help.
Does Ecuflash w/ ceddy show knock on boost gauge/CEL simply by enabling it? I've seen a lot of posts about thresholds and sensitivity and so on.. Do I need to mess with that stuff, or is it straight forward? I don't want false knock readings, ie. Getting...
Okay finally figured out the the roms. I setup injector scaling & latency, so now on my maft I zero out my maft, including the one for injector size? The "zero'd" out position for injectors "base knob" on the maft is stock 450s.. Does that mean the maft will never adjust fuel, or will it...
My setup. T28 at 16psi, wally 255 pump, 8 & 6an fuel lines, AEM fuel rail, fic 680cc injectors, 6 bolt swap built.. Roughly tuned with maft. When I go to "read from ECU" that's my stock tune that I save, that ill use as a backup right? My tune is decent now already with maft, what I want to do...
I saved the Rom and it created a folder called read image.bin is that right? Can't I just save my stock tune and use that to tune?I don't know what I am doing still lol
No I wasn't the owner when the rebuild took place. Haha chimpanzees is probably accurate, a ton of things on this car were done horribly but I know 100% the motor was done right, same person did the tranny.I couldn't get it to grind at all, idle did slightly react though. Normally my notchy...
Yeah I've replaced all fluids with redline (transmission, transfer case, diff). And the car has 77k with a rebuilt motor/trans with about 20k. The transmission doesn't grind so I can't see the synchros being worn.
