I figured this is the best place to ask. I saw this car for sale and was wondering if it's worth what he's asking, if there's proof of the work done. He wants $3500i have a mint 1991 mitsubishi eclipse gsx... AWD turbo automatic...i bought the shell awhile ago and finally put a motor in...
Alright, took my Talon for a spin. Put car in neutral when approaching a stoplight, when it was time to go in to first, it wouldn't go in to gear. Even with the pedal all the way down. Seals in the salve and master cylinders went bad. Replaced them.
Next time I drove it, it was...
I was talking to him about it but he said if he doesn't sell it tonight he's going to part it out. I'm a little over an hour away without a way to tow it if i decided to buy it. dang :notgood:
So I saw this add today, just wanted some opinions. Owner says it turns over and the fuel pump turns on. Wasn't sure which forum to post this in."car has 115.000 miles on it.
auto trans rebuilt with less than 3000 miles on it

Yah I have everything on the upgrade path except intake and fuel pump, which I'm getting soon. I have a wideband and an SAFC i'm going to use. I figured I was just going to order the pump and PP/or clutch kit all at once.
Right now my boost is at 13lbs. My oem clutch holds fine. I'm going to turn my boost up as much as I can(safely) on 450's after I get a new fuel pump. I just want a little more holding power when I turn up my boost.
That's what I found as well. The Exedy clutch that's in now only has about 1500 miles on it so I don't want to get rid of it if i don't have to.When my old clutch blew I needed to get it back on the road ASAP and couldn't get a nice one at the time.
I have most of the mods done for the stage 1 upgrade sequence on this site. The only ones I need are intake and larger fuel pump.Right now I have an Exedy OEM clutch kit. I know this isn't going to hold much power if i start turning up my boost. Would just upgrading either the pressure...
Pulled the codes, ended up being the coolant temp. sensor after all. Went to check it out and there was a wire just hanging there :ohdamn: hooked it back up, and started right up.Thanks for all the help dudes :thumb:
My car has to be cranked over a lot to start when cold, maybe 10-15 times. After A few times it sounds like it wants to start, but starts boggin' down then dies. It will also die if I try and give it gas right away. It behaves the same as when a car runs out of gas. Just replaced the fuel...
I figured I'd post what actually happened. There's a bracket next to the slave cylinder that was missing. When I got on the gas, the tranny housing opened up. My throwout bearing was in pieces, and some pressure plate teeth were bent. Had to fabricate a new bracket. Replaced all the seals...
I'm looking for a replacement clutch for my 1991 fwd Eagle Talon TSI. I don't plan on ever going over 220-240 hp. So i figured I'd get something a little better than OEM.South Bend Rally Series Clutch Kits from HorsepowerFreaksFrom their website "Rally kits contain a modified high...
I tried adjust it according to the Jacks Transmissions video
YouTube - Proper Clutch AdjustmentBut i can't seem to get under there with enough room to adjust it :ohdamn:
Right after I "launched" my car, it dies. The clutch pedal only traveled half as far as it used to. There was a squeeking noise when it is depressed. It was dark out so I couldn't check it over to well
I tried starting it in neutral with the clutch depressed as far as it would go. It...
I just took my UCIP coupler off and it had a big gash. Replaced it and it ran fine, although it did pop off once while I was testing it out. What kind of coupler did you find that worked for you?
It revs just fine when not in gear. But as soon as I put it into any gear, it won't got past 2500-3000 rpms without shuttering and jerking. If it was a boost leak problem, wouldn't it also be present while in neutral?I was on the highway today, and for the life of me I could not go over...
I also like the idea of it looking stock to people that don't know the difference
I could also put the silencer in sometimes if I have to drive around at night which would help to keep a low profile. And do you remember where you bought that muffler, they might have the M-OE for a...
How was the noise level with and without the silencer when you had it?And 2GRick, have you had any experience with the Magnaflow. I just don't want it to be too restrictive.
I have a full 3" Buschur exhaust, it's way to loud for the uptight cops in my area. The M-OE Turbo Muffler seems like the best bet for me, Megan RacingHas anyone ever bought one
I ended up picking it up. We redid the timing and then all it needed was a good ecu, which a local guy with a couple dsm's had one for $120. It runs strong, the only major thing I'm worried about is that it is ridiculously loud.
