This Explains all the tubing. I added the helmet bar, it does not come with that.https://www.cachassisworks.com/p-514-10-point-cage4130.aspxUnder Custom part worksheets, click on Roll Bar and cage that is highlighted in red. This walks u through and shows u how to measure from point...
This was all bent when i ordered it. i just wrote down the measurements on there guided chart they give u online. Emailed it to them, and saw it the next week. i wanted it tucked as much as possible. When I shut my doors i didnt want to see the main hoop at all.
the diff in weight, chromoly is deff the way to go. my cage just got done during last summer. helmet bar and rocker bars were extra. Along with x in the door. window net is now included. cert for 8.50. measured myself and ordered from chris allston chassis works. tig welded it in with the help...
i just had my 1g done last winter. A friend of mine did it that used to built complete chassis. he moved down to Glenns ferry but while i was still in the market for someone to do it at the time i found multiple places.QualFab does nice work. Idk how nice or how much u want to spend along...
Taking apart the headlights in the oven isn't that bad, I have a 96 and we did it to paint the housings black. Just take off all the little metal clips, turn oven on to 225* and put the headlight on a damp rag. Let it sit in for 5 minutes, and take out and use a screw driver to start pulling it...
It's been a few weeks since I installed my front mount. But I talked to DSMJ89 and he told me the kit he bought and I went ahead and ordered it. Kit showed up fast, Was packaged very well and install went pretty smooth. My bumper support was already trimmed so that saved me some time.
I also...
I made my own lip on my Mustang, I know it's not a DSM, but it turned out good imo. I am gonna be making one for my friends Eclipse and maybe one for my car if I raise it a little. I already scrape the bumper can't imagine it with a lip lol.
Do you have a wideband to monitor your a/f ratios?
Have you noticed anything else different with your car? Maybe some other sensor went out. Sorry i'm not much help. I don't know too much about these cars.
I believe the o2 sensor can screw up your tune. I have a 2g and we were just recently trying to tune it via DSMLink, and the front o2 sensor was pretty much dead which threw off all our readings. So all we could do was get a base cruising tune, but no WOT tunes until I get the sensor fixed.
No, I put the -6 on it to see if that would stop it leaking from the turbo to the pan, but then figured out that was too small and fixed the -10 so it wouldn't leak and now all is good there. I thought the problem was oil, but I just started the car and water is leaking from the o2 housing/...
So most likely I have a clogged drain? I bought a real 16g and it did the same thing so i'm looking at the drain now. The gasket I had was a little too small and was blocking part of the opening on the return. I cut the gasket and will try again.
But -6 is good enough for a T25?
No shaft play at all. Like I said, turbo never smoked or anything with the other return line. I just got sick of leaking oil so I put the old set up back in and now it pours oil out of the turbo. I'll try to make the other return line not leak and put that one...
It's the little rubber hose that comes off the left side of the valve cover(in front of cam sensor) and goes into the intake tube of the turbo.I thought it would be plenty enough since it did fine with my T25. The oil leaked out of where the o2 housing bolts to the turbo and was dripping...
I have a stupid Autometer A/F guage in my car and all it does is flash and get annoying! I unhooked it since I got DSMLink now, and I am looking at buying the Innovative LC-1 wideband here shortly.
Quick question, do we only need the o2 sensor thats on the o2 housing? My car still has the one...
I have a 96 talon tsi with a 6 bolt swap, dsmlink and other supporting mods. Recently I installed a 16g. My stell braided return line from my T25 wouldn't fit so I used the one I got with the turbo from a buddy, and it was kind of a ghetto setup and leaked. So tonight I slotted the holes on the...
Finally someone has some in stock! i've been trying to import this stuff and have had no luck. I'll take 600 gallons. Will it make my car blow black like a diesel??!?!
Too me, stance is the breaking factor of a car. If the car sits right, then it will look amazing. But you can't have super nice wheels, etc and be a 4x4.
I think black is cool. Especially if your car is a sleeper and people don't realize it. I just got a silver one for my Maroon Talon and I think it looks good. I am not too worried about the sleeper look though
I personally like the 2g's better. A friend of mine has a 98 Gsx and i think it's gorgeous. I have a 96 Talon and love that style as well. I've seen a few 1g's I like. But I like how the 2g's are more round and bubbly, if that makes sense?
I also need to know what injectors to run. I am told the car has 560cc but I haven't looked. I just ordered DSMLink. I have a 2.3 6 bolt, with a 16g. I was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 880's?
I just put a 16g on my car and it pulls way harder then a T25. I'm personally very very happy with it. I just ordered DSMLink today and will be getting it tuned here in the next few days
It's in the teens in the mornings here in Idaho. When I park my car outside I let it warm up 3-4 minutes. When it's in the garge I give it a minute. Then again I only have to drive 1/2 a mile to school. So it doesn't make much of a difference for me.
The first time I launched my car I was timing 0-60 and I launched it at 2500 and slipped the clutch and even doing a sissy launch my 0-60 was 5 seconds flat. I've since gotten a little more brave and launch it at 4,000 and just slip the clutch a little. Pretty much the best way to launch a car...
Camber was way off on the car. I have fixed it though. I took those pictures the first day I got the car. I waxed it and made it look all pretty, and now the wheel sits like its supposed to
I got some 16" wheels and am looking for tires to put on my car.
This is going to be my snow set up.
Currently I have 225/40/18's.
my question is, will a 215/60/16 fit on my car? I'm not worried about width. More about height because it is 26" tall.
Here is a picture of my car. Let me know what...
I have a 96 TSI AWD with a 6 bolt swap. The guy never hooked up the TPS because the car won't run with it plugged it. So whenever im driving down the road at a cruising speed it kind of studders every once in a while.
Also, the car is tuned at 15lbs of boost, in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, once it gets...
Well thats just the way I bought the car, and i'm only 17 and still in high school. So I have a limited budget. If i had unlimited money i'd be putting a way bigger turbo on and redoing the whole car.
Good point, and i'd pretty much just be buying the install kit with a temporary turbo until I can get more money for the real one.
I guess it sounds like a good deal, and maybe the turbo would last a while. And maybe I could find someone to buy my T25 that only has 3,000 miles on it for $100 or...
Hello, i know there are a million people who ask this question but,
what turbo would be best for my set up?
I have a 96 Talon Tsi Awd 5 speed
It has a 2.3 liter 6 bolt in it, walboro 255 pump, 660cc injectors, injen cold air intake, hard intercooler pipes, with the stock sidemount. 1g crushed...
