I have never encountered any oil pressure problems running the forward facing housing. Even with the balance shafts, the stock gauge stays happy. Glad you fixed it to your liking!
If your are taking your car out that way, you might as well go to JNZ Tuning. They are a vendor on this forum and they work mainly on DSM's and EVO's. I have taken my car out there personally and I will not go anywhere else. They are located in Hatfield ( a few miles north of PSI). If the...
I just wanted to update this thread for future searching. After many hours of troubleshooting, I finally gave up and took it to JNZ for some diagnosis. The only problem with it was 2 of the wires to the IAC were switched. The reason I didn't catch it was, the sensor still functioned (moved...
Like Steve said, pulling the MPI fuse will shut off the ECU so there will be no fuel/ spark. If you do unplug the CAS, it will throw a trouble code which will need cleared either by resetting the ECU or by way of a tuning device like ECMLink or just a simple OBDII scan tool. That is why I...
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/271826-how-prime-turbo.htmlPeople do it all different ways, I would suggest just pulling the 20 amp engine/MPI fuse is the fuse box under the hood. It is easier than disconnecting the MPI relay. Then turn the engine over for 10 seconds a few times...
Here are a few from another member that has those exact ones. I can't find any of mine at the moment. I can't stress enough how nice these are, I wouldn't touch those Ebay ones with a 10ft pole ( no offense to anyone). If you have any questions about them, I would email him [email protected]
Supporting vendor SharpHID sells conversion for our 1ga cars. I bought them for mine and I love them, literally a night and day difference. Here is a link to what I bought. Installation is simple and you can't beat the price. These are from Hella so they are a quality piece unlike the ones...
Mitsubishi DSM AWD 1G Subframe Mustache Brace Bushing: TunersNation-Power is nothing without the right tuneThey also have a kit for subframe/mustache bushings.
Hey guys,I'm currently having a problem starting/stay running after my rebuild. The car (90 TSI) is running pig rich (just by the way the exhaust smells) and I have tried just about everything short of going to a shop. The rebuild consists stock bottom end with new rings; redone head with...
Thank you everyone! I took the dive, and I really don't regret it. To tell you the truth, I saw this thread 10 minutes before I walked out to the alter. LOL... Yes, I'm a loser. Scott, thanks for being there bud. Ive met some great people from this site and you are no exception! So as a wedding...
Well guys, it appears I won't be able to attend. I have not been able to get my car running over the past few months. I will also be on the way back from mayhem fest out in Pittsburg that morning.Looks like I'll have to plan on next year.:(
It looks like there are two possibilities for your car depending on build date.1990.03.2 to 1997.10.1...MD614285 5x16mm1997.10.2 to 1999.04.3...MD628050Sorry, ASA doesn't give the bolt size, this is all I was able to dig up. Hopefully it helps a little.
I went through the same problem. Even though this is for a 2g, a lot of the sizes transfered over. If I couldn't find it, I used ASA to get the bolt diameter and length and just judged the thread size by eye. LOLColumbusDSM - 2G Turbo FWD Bolt & Fastener Wizard
I planning on going this year if I get my car done. I think there should be a number of people attending from central PA. I think we could get a nice size convoy going. :sneaky:
You can find it on the internet. Here is a link for it on Summit Racing.Loctite 37394 - Loctite 518 Anaerobic Gasket Maker - Overview - SummitRacing.comAs Scott mentioned, Permatex makes a similar product but it is in a blue 50 ml tube for around the same price. It is called Permatex...
Great customer service is why I buy a lot of parts from Nate at MAP; Gleason at STM is another favorite of mine. It's nice to order from a vendor that has a genuine interest for the customer. These guys have my vote any day.
Boost creep is rising boost due to not enough exhaust bypassing the housing. You can port out the turbo yourself. In order to do this, you need to remove the ridges on the exhaust housing around the wastegate inlet and exit...
Innovate is considered the best by many. A lot of people run the AEM with no problem. Some users say AEM has caused some problems logging with ECMlink though.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/283723-aem-innovate-zeitronix.html
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/vendor-announcements/387801-1ga-carbon-headlight-covers.htmlI don't want to direct business away from the OP, but there is a group buy for these going on currently.
I personally like the look of Rota wheels, plus they are affordable. You will find a lot of 1g owners have Evo rims as well.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/hangout/385241-official-rota-wheels-dsms-thread-post-pics.htmlOur bolt pattern is 5x114.3 if you decide to start searching for a...
I would love one because mine is falling apart but I believe this would carry quite a hefty price tag.OP...I would love to see a front lip and a headliner w/ sunroof provision. There are a lot of great ideas in this thread, and I really hope some of these become available.Hell, anything...
How bad is the play in the tie rod ends?I am usually the type of person to replace a part as soon as it goes bad. But sometimes things can wait to be replaced( maybe a couple weeks, even a month or so). However, it could be one pot hole away from a break and then you have to shell out money...
I just did mine a couple weeks ago. I used an air chisle to get the stock mount out and for the one that needed pressed in, I used WD-40 and a dead blow hammer. A large c-clamp would work as well.
Will it work... Yes. A lot of people on here have this combo. I would always suggest an upgraded spring just for comfort but its not necessary. If you were running Kelford 272's then yes you would need and upgraded spring. You can get away with the stock valve train here though. :thumb:
Ah, I see. What 272's are you planning on using? Reason being, it might be a wise decision to upgrade springs and retainers. Depends on your budget and goals though.
Soldering the wires would be a much better solution along with some shrink tubing. It will give you a much better connection and will ensure the wires stay together along with a much cleaner and neat job.
True, might be worth it to him. What makes these stations desirable? A different additive package or higher oct. gas available? Sorry, I'm in the dark about that bunch.
I suppose you are lucky then. The previous posters are correct with their information. The decision is up to you on which to keep. You said both cars are in near perfect condition, If your favorite one is the 90, I would keep it. All DSM's need to have parts replaced at some point. Both cars...
I also drive 50 miles to get to work and am usually 20-30 minutes early. My extra time does not get counted either. I usually sit at my desk on tuners or wait around till 6 am when work starts. If im behind on my work, I never work an extra second because it isn't paid even if the boss says so...
ECM Link is very popular, and most people will tell you to buy it.AEM is also another option but quite expensive.Ostrich, it is used by some 1g owners on here.
