I would love to make the Jax meet and check out the area, never been. However I was just lovingly reminded by my wife, that I have to be at a birthday party for family this weekend. Maybe meet some of you at the five guys meet if you want to make a dsm presence there. Let me know!
This for me was the lower compression arms (curved arm) I replaced them with moog units and no more light chatter when I let the clutch out or high speed shimmy.
Try this post it may help.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/298047-2g-engine-bay-electrical-connections.htmlAlso you may want to pull the tubing off so you can see inside the throttle boday at the throttle plate and make sure that when the petal is pushed all...
Just trying to help but, my knowledge of the body wiring is limited. I would say the circuit is being back fed but not sure how. Are the relays good did you check them with multimeter? Your sure your car doesn't have a factory alarm? Try pushing the power lock while the door is open and then...
Just for sheer simplicity I would pull the plugs first, check the gaps/condition and replace the wires if they are well used. Just my .02, this can make a big difference in a turbo car!
And no accessories, lights, ore anything powered off the tail light leads? Being triggered by a bump is weird and the fact you have power on both sides of the fuse. Do the tail lights still work when you pull the fuse?
I use a piece of white poster board under the car over night after a drive if I suspect a leak of any kind. It will give you kind of a map if there is! Also to check the thermostat simply make sure both your upper and lower radiator hoses both are at operating temp. If the bottom is warm and top...
I would also add that the clutch/ compressor must be diagnosed first to then test and diagnose the rest of the system. Once you are able to determine the clutch/compressor work as they should then we can move on to proper charging and checking with a set of gauges to ensure proper function of...
The pic I posted shows how to "jump" the clutch or activate the compressor clutch. Then you will be able to charge the system. The belt squeal can mean a loose belt OR bad compressor you need to find out which. If you "jump" the clutch to engage it while at idle and the belt squeals but does not...
When you remove the cat you may throw a CEL light, there is a write up on how to get around this on here somewhere. Basically you need to space the rear o2 (in cat) further out of the pipe to prevent it FYI.
I would say so, it probably is just cycling longer because of the hot temps inside the car and outside. One of the sensors is the accu with a thermistor in the evap core. This turns off the compressor when the evap core reaches 40deg, this is more challenging the hotter the ambient and interior...
He said SL model, correct me here if needed but the twin turbo is vr4 not SL correct? Also OP's looking for a daily driver and a heavy AWD 3000gt is pricey on fuel just my opinion.
Just curious does it leak power steering fluid? Chances of an inner tie rod going out twice is rare, chances of it being a pot hole that caused it also rare. The inner seals are designed for auto transmission fluid dextron 2 specifically. If (cheap parts) are used the seals do not hold up to...
Awesome statement! Great attitude! With the info on this forum there really is extremely little that cannot be fixed on our cars. I would wait as long as it took for the right gst/gsx vs the sl 300gt!
Compressor sounds fine! Pressures are good for about 80 deg ambient , I would say a sensor like the accu or fin in the evap core. Do you know how to test them?
Compressor has to cycle to charge, is the compressor kicking on and off? Do you have the factory service manual? You will need section 55-1 through 55-50. I can send it or post it when I get to my desktop. The system requires very specific amounts of compressor oil and freon, also there is a...
With those springs you should do a camber kit anyway! IME anything 1" or more lower starts to make tire wear uneven and the ride actually more stiff due to binding. I have these springs on Tokiko illumina's with correct camber/alignment and it rides really nice. BTW daily I put 80-100 miles on.
Couldn't say it better! Notice the avatar pic, ETS 7" kit ducted in FL 88+ ambient humid and i run 190 coolant temps even after pulls! Air must be channeled correctly. And as for fans, our factory 3 speed fans are awesome! If you have a thick radiator core or huge turbine then maybe a slim fan...
Brand is everything in suspension parts! How did they diagnose these bad parts? If you plan on replacing any ball joint type parts I would go with Moog or oem as I have used both with great success. When getting an alignment it is imperative you get the before and after specs to see where it was...
my heater blowing cold was air caught in it I have a funnel that I wedge into the coolant cap and run the car up to temp. Rev it once in a while also, the funnel allows the air to come out of the system without making a huge mess and also allows for the expansion of the coolant without...
Ok I am asking a lot to diagnose and not guess so I apologize for the amount of questions.I mean any gear while in gear raise rpm up and let off throttle till RPM is around idle and push in the clutch.Since this motor has been swapped when did you first notice it happening (after a part...
couple things to help clarify here, first is this the original motor or was it swapped? What are your W/B readings when it occurs? Are you logging this car? What is the logger/ecu showing for vehicle speed vs your speedometer? Have your tried to just hold the clutch in and coast with it in and...
I used the gasket maker ultra blue, it is a multi purpose with good adhesion that will not harden. Also I forgot to mention, I used an OEM seal. I have heard of some less expensive seal material out there but didn't want to chance it.
The 4g63t systems are also different from 95-96 to 97-99. The accu or auto compressor control units are different and the compressors differ between 420a, 4g63 and 4g63t. You really need to research what parts you need for your engine/year to save a lot of head ache.
I used the permatex all the way around the seal to attach it to the frame. I also had a small amount of rust the I wire wheeled and painted. Doesn't leak now at all and you may want to take some silicone spray lube and hit the felt of the seal as well.
Yes as the engine rpms and boost build under wot so does the hp and torque. If your clutch is badly worn it will hold under low rpm/boost and start slipping when increased the gear you are in is irrelevant.
You are seeing this because at that speed our fans shut off unless you are over 50mph and over 210 deg. The factory ducting channels air at that speed through the condenser and radiator. When you put a FMIC in front of those the air doesn't move as needed, you will need to duct air through the...
Here is how you test the ball joint also I used a bench vice and put a screw driver thought the bushing bolt holes on the other end. Then pry the bushing back and forth and check for tears in the bushing. They are hard to see and move takes a lot of force as previously stated hope this helps.
