I'ed have to agree with Grey here. If you need/want another turbo and "the" guy said it had a little front and back, you have better options. I ,like many, had my t-25 die on the car. Purchasing another t-25 goes for $90-$150. Even buying 2 (used) decent t25's for $100/each is cheaper than the...
Jesus, i just read this whole build. You went through some hell bro. All of your cars' issues trump all of mine in every way. The way you have hung in there has inspired me to hang in there too. Very good build and insight into another spyder.Keep Going!!
The first time i have run into this discussion, now im kinda interested also. I say do it if you have the time a want it. I like the eagle logo with Tsi at the top. but im also the guy who would put a set of shark teeth on the other side. And just flip it around depending on my mood, lol
I tried i quick search for a 1g. 2g is 43. i thought 1 g was 47-ish.The 255 and FPR set at the proper fuel pressure will be just fine i have read. Will need to figure out if your injectors will keep up. May want search on the forums and see how much you can run. Or purchase a tuning solution...
I've had that happen to me for the better part of a summer and later. Come to find out my uicp wouldn't stay together to save it's life. it would pop off on the freeway, parking lot, driveway, picking up dates, shudder). I used worm clamps, t-clamps, clamp camps. The shitty thing is the car...
The 14b is set lower because of the actuator that is attached to it. As soon as you put on a boost controller follow the instructions to adjust the boost. After a few twist hold on to the steering will at 3k rpm then again at 5k.Your welcomeP.S. It has been advised on multiple threads here...
Had a crx with a bunch of internals, that weren't worth it or done right. Friends said start with a better base. viola! GST. After an AWD talon conversion im set with a rare, fun, find. Welcome to the club!!
yay another spyder build. Love the fact that you stuck with the syder and decided to AWD it. I plan to do that same a year from now.Keep up the good work.
Looks to be as clean and as stock as most others i have seen. Other than receipts for everything that has been done, i'ed say it's an ok purchase. I don't know about 300bhp though. Seems like you wouldn't have to a lot of the regular maintenance. I say go for it. What ever happens you have...
Holly shit, i was this close to dumping money into them. I'll admit i don't read the reviews or ratings on the venders here. I have had nothing but love from members in the classifieds, guess im not carrying that to the vendors with out a little home work.
I don't know what exactly causes them to break, but i have gone through 2 sets of poor knock-off's in the last two years. Engine is lurching around again, so i got some oems with inserts from the classifieds here on tuners. I used to like auto zone but even with a life time warranty, i'ed rather...
Damn bro, this hit close to home. As far as the nickel and dime a spyder goes. Sorry to hear about your young one's condition, and the subsequent toll it takes.First thing that popped into my head was, "keep the spyder in its current condition, and stop the modification route". I let that...
I have a 14b no mods and 11 psi. If i were to put on a 16g i'ed do the same (wastegate pressure). From what can be gathered on tuners, a 16g w/no mods at lowest boost is tinkering with disaster at best. Support the 16/20g to at least be happy with it :)fpr
255 pump
injectors 550+

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this before in this post. I'll step up to the plate. The best change you can make to this list is bigger injectors. That is all.
Bought the car abused. Thought i did a good job talking the guy down from $2500 to $1500 with the car needing valve seals, and clutch. Took the car to my mechanic the next day;Motor mounts broken
clutch master and slave cylinders
valves seals
and why the heck not. turbo went out later.
lol, love the picWorst DSM day ever.Driving down the free way, when white smoke starts coming out of the back leaving a mile long cloud. Pull over and take a look under the hood. OIL everywhere; intake/piping, valve cover, turbo, over flow bottle, you name it. decided to check coolant...
But it felt like too tight a knit crew for now, instead of a laxed invironment. Car broke soon after that, then then i moved to graveyard shift at work. May try again some other time. I still like the idea of a bunch of gst's and gsx's all in one place. :D
I've had this issue for a while, and didn't know how to word the search for it. Thanks to both of you for post. Time to go outside and bend some supports!
We have a few members on here that can rebuild/give advice on what to do with your poor tubo. One of them is justin who is a guru with expert advise and the ability to help you out in a jiffy. What ever options are available he can help you solve them!
Welcome fellow lurker. Absolutely Smart idea to become active. I still lurk myself after two years due to all the info to be read, and random items to be fixed. Still need to learn to ask for help instead of being stuck on a issue for a month.
Will need my a/c system fixed one day. Very helpful thread. Would like to hear what else you do have done, or will need done to your a/c system. All helpful info and thoughts are welcome.
Bought my car abused, trying to rehab it on a budget. I can understand it being on Jack stands more than you would like. If you can't keep up with the car then so be it. Sell it to some body who can then come back to it later in life.
