Look at Jack's tech youtube again. I don't think you're supposed to be able to push the slave in with ease. I think you move the nut until you can't and then back it off until you have to really muscle it in and then back it off another 1/4 or 1/2 turn. If I remember right, I don't think you...
Well. The problem reared it's ugly head today. The radiator took a dump. It poured coolant out of the bottom. I do however think the water pump needs to be replaced. It's never been replaced that I know of.
Thanks for all the replies.Regards
Greg
Hello to all.
I was driving in a buddies 93 Talon the other day. The htr works pretty good driving around. When we came to a light and the rpm's dropped to around 750, I noticed the air coming from the htr got fairly cold. When we started driving again and the rpm's went back up, the air got...
I bought a downpipe. Took it to a small muffler shop in town. They put the downpipe on and bent a new 3" exhaust all the way back for 224.00 including a Magnaflow muffler.Regards

Hello to all and Happy Holidays.
I have a problem I can't figure out. Water keeps building up in the driver side taillight assy. I have pulled the light housing out and inspected it for cracks or holes to no avail. All lights seem to be plugged in properly. I empty the housing out, re-install...
Hello to all and Happy Hollidays
Reading about the Innovate All in One wideband AF gauge MTX-L and the Innovate
DB gauge kit, I am not seeing much difference in their functionality. Are they essentially the same, or does one have more features and benefits? It looks to me that the DB kit is...
You don't seem to be too far from normal. I would get that Lucas out of there and go to some good 10w30 oil. 40 wt can get a little fudgy if it is cool out. Thinner oil, especially synthetic will give you better lubrication upon startup which is where the most wear on your motor happens...
Hello to all.
Since the rear diffs in our AWD cars are LSD, should we be using friction modifiers with our differential fluid? My Jimmy is 2WD limited slip and GM wants friction modifiers mixed in the fluid when you change it. Your guidance is appreciated. I currently use RedLine heavy...
Hello to all.
I have a B1H rear differential coming for my 93 AWD Talon. The differential only minus cups and axles. Are there some regular maint items I should replace when I do it? Axle seals or anything? For those that have done it, all suggestions are much appreciated.Best Regards...
Just use the K&N filters that have a 1" nut on the end. That is what I use. I believe it is HP1005. I put my filters on snug then take a wrench and do another 1/4 turn. I have stiff motor mounts and they have been known to vibrate a filter off. The nut on the end of the K&N's is pretty handy...
Hello to all.
Had the Talon up on rack and noticed the rubber lines in the back, close to fuel tank look old and funky. I need to replace them. They look to be in the 3/8ths size or close. Does anyone know what size to ask for when I go to the parts place to purchase?Regards
Greg
I got it. The tech note was specifically talking about tuning with a non-liquid gage. Maybe like you said, tune it with a regular gage then switch to a liquid gage.Regards
Greg
Ok guys thanks. I just wondered because in the tech bulletin on aeromotive's site, the word "not" is in bold lettering when referring to using a liquid filled gage. I guess I'll check and see if my gage has that plug you guys were talking about.Regards
Greg
Hello DSMer's
Didn't know how many of you run a liquid filled gage on your AFPR. On Aeromotives' site under the Tech Documents tab, when you click on "Advanced EFI tuning with an AFPR, The second tip says to never use a liquid filled gage when tuning with an AFPR. It says that temperature...
In the car. Went for a long cruise tonight and didn't smell anything. Next time I will.
I will check that CV thing you were talking about. I guess I'll have to pull the battery and tray to see down in there.Regards
Greg
Will do. Is it part of the charcoal cannister stuff? I guess it could have come loose or the line corroded. It has only started lately. I will have a look and get back to you.Regards
Greg
Hello to all.
Last couple of times I have driven the Talon I smell gas and can't figure where it's coming from. I have even pulled to the side of the road, popped the hood and checked every fitting that has to do with fuel and nothing. Even pulled vac line on the AFPR and it is clean. I checked...
Calan
Shouldn't he have another line with a check valve in it running back to intake manifold? ie pcv location to catch can then catch can back to intake manni. Then, one more line from catch can to hard intake pipe between maf and turbo?Regards
Greg
For not much more money, you can get a set of Manley Rods. They are rated to 650HP. I believe the stock rods are rated to around 450. I know the Manley rods are pretty well balanced right out of the box and come with ARP bolts.Regards
Greg
I run the DKS1 cams with Manley springs and have been very happy with them.
Darren has a pretty good reputation and I don't think he would sell any products
that he wouldn't use himself.Regards
Greg
Your gage is bad. You seem to have it hooked up correctly. Your vacuum is in line at idle with the cam profile you have. Switch gages with one of your buddies and see if it doesn't work correctly.Regards
Greg
You can always order a front facing ofh from Darren at ffwd. It will give you more clearance down there and he has them already set up with fittings so you can just screw in your sender and go.Regards
Greg
Do not drive your car anymore if there is coolant in your oil. The coolant will kill the lube qualities of the oil and you will spin a bearing. Pull the head and have it checked and decked at a machine shop. use a composite gasket. Jackson Auto Machine sells an upgraded composite good to 450 HP...
Mine did same thing with EIII 16g. Upgraded to wally255 and afpr.Turned fuel pressure to 40 psi and can run 18psi boost with no problem. Anything above that you will need bigger injectors.Regards
Greg
You should get a 7 bolt head. The 7 bolt studs you need are 11mm. The holes in the head are 12mm. The head will move some under a load because there will be 1mm of slop there. The only thing really fastening the head will be the stud nut. I am afraid that won't be enough. Otherwise
you will need...
If you are getting a code the CEL light will come on. You may look at your MAF sensor. Follow your plug wires back and they will lead to your coil pak. The transistor pak is below the coil pack. It delivers the signal to your coil pak to fire up the plugs.
If the problem is igntion, it is most...
Yeah, that is probably the culprit. Take it off, clean it up. Maybe spray it with some silicone to loosen the plunger assy. Clean the connections and put it back on. If needed I think you can still by the component at MachV Motorsports. I believe that is where I bought mine.Regards
Greg
When I talked to ARP's tech support, they told me torque to 80lbs with moly lube
or 120lbs for 30 wt oil. If you didn't have the head and block decked, you need a composite gasket. Jackson Auto Machine sells a composite that is good for up to 450 hp.Regards
Greg
If you just want to be faster than your buddies' Hondas, put in a good air intake, get an exhaust and put in a manual boost controller. Turn the boost to 15 and drive the hell out of it.Greg
Put a differnt ISC motor in. Bad ones will fry ecu's. The cams should have no effect on idle surge. They will affect your vacuum. Aggressive cams will not take out your ISC. Put a new Isc in and see your idle surge go away if you have fixed your boost and vacuum leaks. The ISC may have screwed...
Turn your ignition to the on position like you are going to start the car. The CEL should come on for a few seconds and then go off. If it stays on, chances are you have a bad ecu.Good Luck

Hello Tuners
My EvoIII 16G is about a year old. It is fed from the OFH. I took some intake parts off the other day and noticed more oil than I would like to see in the hard upper ic pipe. My oil pressure is high during pulls and cruise. At around 70mph, my pressure is between 75 and 80. When...
Picked up a stage 2 tranny from Jon @ TRE. Tranny was awesome. I managed to break a shift fork on a spirited run. I emailed Jon and made an appt with him.
Took my trans to him and he immediately completely disassembled it on the spot. He hot tanked everything and repaired everything and threw...
