Hmm, mine came with the mitsu style map sensor that plugged right in to replace my factory one, so that clip doesn't fit into, do I just plug my factory map sensor.clip.into it and ignore the orange clip then? Or am I doing something completely wrong? Lol

So I just recently purchase the speed density bundle with the sd cable so that way the transition to density would be plug and play. I installed their map sensor and IAT and that went fine, and on the sd cable it had a connector to plug into my factory maf plug and then one more plug that is...
I just finished installing a new clutch and cams and ECMlink into my 97 GST, I have everything set accordingly to my setup in link. Timing is perfectly on, Injectors are firing and bringing in fuel, spark plugs are clearly getting spark, but are also getting soaked with fuel. I even put the...
I go with OEM Mitsubishi gaskets for everything, I just feel the most secure with them. I haven't had the best of luck with fel pro so personally I don't recommend them, but there are a ton of people on here who swear by them, and especially for the 420a they seem to love them. Also, Just so you...
yea just take off your intake pipe and mount the tester in place and once it builds boost you should start to hear leaks, or using soapy water is the most for sure way of finding exactly where any leaks are
Honestly I would just save my money for ECM link, do it right the first time and not have to worry about getting anything else is the way i look at it... just my thoughts tho.
I would also suggest nitrous, it is very affordable and from experience I can tell you that you don't want to turbo the car unless your prepared to put some pretty serious money into it... A stock internal 420a would never be able to handle both nitrous AND a turbo, not for very long at least...
+1 on the punishment racing FMIC, I bought it for my car as well and everything fit PERFECTLY. You can order it with either a J pipe for like a 14B or 16G style turbo or a t25, you just have to choose it in the menu, its a really good kit to buy for the money tho and will last you for quite a...
Running a basically stock t25 setup without turning up the boost I don't see any possible way that an intake and filter could make you hit fuel cut.... I would definitely do a boost leak test. You can take off your intake pipe from the cold side of the turbo and connect the BLT in place. That's...
Your multi function switch is a little box in your steering column that your blinker arm/lever goes into to trigger your blinkers on and off. The arm can move fine but if the mfs switch is bad the blinkers can go kinda awry, I had it happen on my eclipse were anytime I gave the car power my left...
Agree ^^ also, imho I would suggest prosport gauges if you wanted to save a bit from autometer, I've put prosport on several different cars, very well priced and high quality and you can get them in almost any color, I like the amber cause it matches the stock gauge faces well
Do your blinkers come on like you say only when you push in the clutch peddle? My left blinker would come on anytime that I gave power to the car and would stay on, it turned out to be my multi function switch.
yea poor design indeed... I was assuming being that they are both P.R they would fit with each other without any problems but apparently not. It looks like i am going to have to add on some exhaust tubing to angle it away... thanks for your input guys!
So I am in the process of installing a new Punishment racing front mount on my GST and I am running into a possible problem, the exhaust tube from the O2 open dump that i bought from Punishment racing is directly over about 3 inches from the lower I.C pipe off of the J pipe from the turbo. I am...
Damn I feel realy stupid sometimes... Im really not knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like this, I mean ik that any change in tire size will change the accuracy of the speedometer but im not that much bigger than stock, it shouldnt be that bad.. I just realized also that my coolent gauge on...
Umm yea I would rather not drive my car like I stolle it and get tickets... My insurance is high enough as is... But I went by one of those roadside digital speed reader things the cops put out and it also was 10 mph shower than my speedo, drives me nuts. I think I will do the needle trick tho...
So I recently bought a 97gst spyder and it seemed like I was going a lot slower than my speedometer was telling me, so I downloaded an app on my phone to tell me my speed and it is consistently 10 mph slower than the speedometer on my gauge cluster. the car has 17" rims with 215/50 size tires...
alright thanks lol, i don't think i can wait till spring tho... i need to have this car running again so i can drive it to a basshunter concert soon lol
Aah, ok thanks. Yea i see a bunch of BLOX FMU's on there, i have never heard of that brand tho so i thought they were off brand... but if you are satisfied with it i probably would to lol. Do they hook up the same as a Vortech, as in the inlet, outlet, Vac line?
and how about this link? You...
so i found this Vortech FMU on eBay, just wanted to double check with you guys that is is legit and is what i need for my 420A turbo. I bought an off brand one before and got totally ripped off and just don't want it to happen again. thanks!
here is the linkVortech 12:1 fmu pressure...
My buddy and i did a boost leak test on it and found two huge leaks in my piping so after we fixed them we took it down the road and now im starting to spool at 3000, also found a couple cracks in my manifold that would slow down spool time as well so i think it should be all good, thanks a lot...
yes... no restictor could definitely have blown the seals in your turbo... i fried mine by not having a big enough return line for the oil so now whenever the car is running its issuing out blueish white smoke, maybe check that as well?
A problem with the Turbo right? cause when i drive it i can clearly hear when it starts to whistle and then start to make that other sound when it really starts boosting and that is almost non existent in first gear and very slow in all the others. i found a couple T3T4's, .57 trim (which i...
lol I'm actually running a Hahns super 16G right now and it blows lol. for some reason i don't hit 6 PSI until about 6000 RPM's in first, and like 4500-5000 in second gear. I'm taking my manifold off to check for leaks and am gonna use a boost leak tester my buddy has to test my IC pipes but...
Honestly i just want something that is going to spool fast and give me a good difference in acceleration, so definitely streetability. I'm not trying to make it an all out like race car or anything as i am running stock internals (Until winter comes along and i have some car down time) so yea...
I'm just wondering what you guys think are the best, fastest spooling turbos and what trim they should be for 420a turbo installs??? I'm looking at T3T4 Turbos but they almost all have over .50 trim, would that spool very fast? thanks again
Alright guys, once again thanks for all the help in my previous questions, but i have one more. After i worked out the oil problems with my turbo I finally got my little 420a running well, however after I let it warm up and i drive it for a while, like 8 minutes or so, it starts...
yea i haven't looked at it in detail yet but im not sure how to separate the cold side from the middle part, but after realizing what it really was (and hitting myself for not realizing it) i found out i am running with a restrictor. Once i get the turbo apart and back together how should i...
OOOOOOOOOH ok! I'm sorry i must seem retarded but this is my first time ever messing wit anything to do wit a turbo lol. ill see if i can mess around wit it tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes, thanks again, and if anyone has anymore input feel free to post it cause i still need all the...
Uh-oh... so does that mean that this turbo wont work unless i modify a downpipe off the manifold to turn the turbo over, kinda like a stock 4G63 turbo setup???
so would this be wrong you think? i apologize i had to do the writing on the photo editor on my phone lol. the return is at the exact same kind of angle just in the back of the turbo where you can't see it
Would there be any way to tell which is the feed and which one is the return? cause right now wit the turbo sitting it front of the engine wit the hot side and downpipe on the passenger side and the cool side and filter on the drivers side i have the feed line in the front of the turbo and the...
its not an ebay turbo, its a Hahns racecraft super 16G that i bought from another member on here. it only has 1000 miles on it so i doubt the shaft seals are blown it... as for the restrictor, i didn't add one but to be honest im not sure what it is so i guess i can't answer that 100%Also...
the oil return line came with the turbo, so i don't think its too small, and i don't think im running a restrictor. I'm pretty sure the oil leak is getting into my exhaust somehow somewhere and that's ### is causing the massive smokingyea the PCV valve is common to tap into for these...
so after i get all done installing my turbo i start it up and it runs fine, i have several exhaust leaks around my manifold i notice, but nothing thats too hard to fix, i hold a piece of paper out to see where the leaks are and notice its getting spritzed wit what apears to be oil... not sure...
hey guys, im working on finishing up my turbo install on my 420A (I apologize if this thread is in the wrong catagory) and so i need to tap into my break booster line to run some vac lines from it to go to my boost guage and FMU. problem being is i have NOOOOOOOOO idea where it is... so if...
I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything that i could use for cheaper intercooler piping instead of actual metal IC piping, or if you know of any place other than the internet that sells IC piping. thanks guys
I bought a cat back exhaust system and when i got it out i tried to pull the stupid looking silencer out but its wedged in there or something. Ive tried clamping on it wit a vice grips and trying to hook an L shaped metal hanger to the bottom of the outlet tube in the middle of it but it hasn't...
