I am relatively new to the Las Vegas area and had a questions for people in the area with DSMs. I am working on planning a build for a 97 Eclipse and have hit a question I am struggling to answer. My question is "Should I install an air conditioning system in the car?"I have lived in Las...
I'm new to the Las Vegas area and am looking to buy and rebuild another DSM since I have to sell me first one when I moved here from New York. Unfortunately I now live in an apartment that is less than accommodating to someone who wants to rebuild a car. I was just wondering if anyone else here...
I will be moving to the Las Vegas area sometime in May this year and was looking for some DSM advice. I currently live in New York and have been working on rebuilding a 95 Eagle Talon Tsi. Unfortunately I will not be able to take my car with me on my move, but I will be looking to buy a new DSM...
I just finished rebuilding my 95 Talon's motor over the winter. I went out to start it for the first time and have had a lot of difficulty. I have installed 272/272 cams, 1200 fuel injectors, .02 over pistons, a 100mm stroked crankshaft and a Forced Performance 68 HTA Turbo. I was unable to...
Ok today has been a really bad day. First of all I went to start my car for the first time after rebuilding to motor. When I turned on the fuel pump to set the fuel pressure I had geysers of fuel coming from my line. When I went to tighten the bolts for the fuel rail I broke one of them. It was...
Hey this is a really dumb question, but does anyone know what the little black box in under the passenger side fender is for? It has four black wires coming from it? I was just wondering if it was important, and what it is for. Thanks.
I would suggest going with the DSMlink, it will give you the ability to control the fuel flow, rpm, and many other important settings. As far as understanding how to use it, just search the forums for a guide. I was able to find a very helpful one a little while back. Unfortunately I seen to...
Does anyone know if my 95 Talon (which is equipped with the OBD II scanner) will have to pass the OBD II inspection? Or, since it is a 95 will it only need to pass the safety inspection? Any input from people who have experienced this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If the coolant lines are currently the originals, I would replace them simply because of their age. You don't want them to fail later and cause damage to your turbo. Better safe than sorry.
I would try checking all of the tapped connections to make sure none of them are grounding out on any metal. I had a similar problem in a Grand Am, and it turned out it was a bad tape job on the power wire for the radio. It would touch metal and ground out causing all of my electronics to go...
I actually haven't removed any of the emissions yet because its too darn cold right now here in New York haha. But when I do I am afraid of throwing a CEL. If I leave the solenoids plugged in would it prevent the CEL?
Building the circuits is not a problem for me. I am currently finishing up my degree in electrical engineering. I just need to know what the sensor signals need to be, then I can design and build a circuit to create the signal.
I was just wondering if anyone on here knew how to build a circuit to simulate the emission control sensors. I want to remove my emission controls, but I live in New York and there for I need to have my check engine light off to pass inspection. All the forums i have been able to find end up...
I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that I could buy the lower mounting forks for the front struts of a 95 Talon. Mine are shot on both sides and need to be replaced. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks, I found just what I was looking for there. The part cost like $300 so I'm gonna try using ez-out on the bolt first to save money, but if it doesn't work I have a back up plan! Thanks again!
I have a bunch of broken bolts in it, and its a bit rusty. I guess I will just take it out, drill out the bolts, and repaint it. I was hoping it would be cheap just to buy a new one.
I'm looking to buy a new or used front sub frame for my 95 Talon Tsi. Does anybody know where I can buy one for my car? I tried looking online but no luck yet. Any input would be great. Thanks.
I was looking into buying a braided clutch line from the master cylinder directly to the slave, but I realized it will bypass the clutch damper. Is there any negative effects of removing the damper?
Really dumb question here. As I was tearing apart my 95 Talon TSi i stumbled across a silver box behind the driver's side head light. All of the brake lines go into this box. I was wondering what it is and what it is used for. Thanks.
Does anyone know of a good transmission shop around Buffalo NY. I am looking to get my transmission upgraded/rebuilt while I rebuild the motor this winter. Thanks.
I'm looking to rebuild my motor over the winter and was looking into various upgrades. I am trying to get some input of different types of intake manifolds that people like. There seem to be so many available, I don't know where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 95 Talon TSi AWD 5 speed. Recently I have been having difficulty with my clutch. It was sinking to the floor and would not always engage. I bled the clutch to ensure their was no air in the line. This only helped a little. The car seems to have trouble shifting when the engine is in...
