Problem ResolvedPrevious owner was running SD and cut harness. When a rewired in a new Maf plug wires were incorrect. DESPITE having NO CEL and was still getting a reading somehow in link!!!....There are 2 green wires with white lines.and that's where my issue was. Shes running pretty good...
I ran a hot wire from battery to ecu...fixed voltage issue but that's the only thing fixed...thinking more on this circuit, injectors, maf and O2 all share this circuit..which are what I am seeing issues with...Mpi malfunction possibly? If that sounds plausible...heres the new log
Girlfriend pulled threw, thanks....
In other news I finally got to the laser today.....I removed the inline fuel pump so now I just have the 1 walbro 255 in tank..Unfortunately, no change.....Here are the logs from today, first idle tuned it then 2nd is after doing MAFComp with link...
I won't be able to get to the garage tonight. Girlfriend is sick in the hospital. I'll update once I get back to the garage.
Again thanks to everyone for brain storming with me. I'll talk to you guys soon
I have checked the fpr in the past and with the basic method of sucking on both nipples(I had too)return and vac, I didnt notice any leaks. Once i get home i will swap the fpr regardless and try to make up a line so I can remove the inline 255 pump. Then I will idle tune it correctly before I...
Alternator was replaced yesterday 75amp. Battery is maybe 2 years old. Hold charge for at least 2 weeks. Car always fires up first turn. I went threw chassis grounds today front to back....Maybe the twin walbros are demanding to much voltage? Pump is rewired properly. One pump is inline so...
ecu was swapped to verify settings were not a problem. wires are aftermarket low resistance wires connected to NGK 7s...transistor is newer legit oem mitsu, coil packs test good
the choppy readings is what I was referring to along with the voltage being around 13.0v at times. road is smooth that im testing on. Theres only 12 miles on the build so It has never seen a speed above 49.3mph I believe.ecu connectors seemed fine during the ecu swaps. I am also leaning towards...
I will triple check vac line and see about loaning a fpr tomorrow. I understand what you mean about why im seeing the drops. I will update asap
Thanks to all
I'm running a stock FPR until I can get some more money gathered up...I still notice low voltage while the lean mixture occurs. At the same time the injector duty jumps around as well as the maf hz when going lean
I installed a different set of stock injectors and I also pulled the sending unit. Fuel is clean, fuel sock is clean. The problem persist... Here is the most recent logs, driving and idle....Wasn't warmed up all the way while driving but at this point I don't see it making a difference
When I swapped to stock o2, I also put in a known good stock ecu. So no its wasn't being simulated
Ill pull the injectors and check them, they were being stored
FPR is hooked to intake yes(stock location)O2 is cycling properly from what I understand after seeing a log with wideband being...
Im revisiting this to try to correct what I did wrong in order to receive a reply1). No boost, vac, or exhaust leaks. No
2). Verify mechanical timing. Yes
3). Verify base timing. Yes
4). Ignition system. 028, NGk 7s
5). Motor health. Fresh Build
6). Basic throttle body adjustments. Yes

I swapped complete engine harness and no change. I realized when I plugged in the white plug(10pins but only 9 being used) that is bound to the ecu plugs, the short showed itself again. Not positive where this plug leads to, ignition possibly? I have another steering column as well, think I...
After staying out till 4am last night, I narrowed it down to somewhat in the MPI circuit. I unplugged everything from.the engine and I was still grounding out somewhere. So I yanked the whole harness out. Gonna go threw it this morning and see if I can find the bad spot. I have another harness...
This is where I am at now. If I unplug the smallest plug going to ecu, the short goes away. The buzzing I'm hearing is the fuel relay when.I replug it in.With a different ecu, from an auto that I have laying around, there is no short until I turn.the key to the start position. The original...
My pin 13 has juice,...according to that it should be a ground...it only goes out when I pull the fuse of course....o feel Like I have gotten no where...I'm very good at electrical bit I don't oboe where to start now on trying to find the short. Its only when key is in ON...2 clicks turning key
92 talon turbo awd....I have a short that has led me to the cluster. I have test light on negative post on battery and clamped to chassis, light is on.With the ecu plugged in, I pull the gauge fuse from under the dash and I immediately hear a buzzing noise. I now have ecu unplugged and with...
I know this is a very old thread but.....I just bought a dnj head gasket and dnj oil pump kit. Didn't know if anyone got any info on dnj. As in how bad or good they are. I bought the dnj because of price and I got it the same day. Usually has to be ordered at all other part stores...so I'm going...
We should plan something, Got my buddies just about right. When his is done, we are going to cruise up to conneaut ohio, where mine is being stored at.......Any suggestions?
Something like it...Its across the street from there but it got over ran with...gayness :nono: haha..... Theres a few of us that own DSM's that hang out now, I'm sure we can set something up sometime.
Maybe a junk rear end? If its junk, its not putting a load on....something. and its just free spinning? Stage 2 shep ...is it 70 to the back 30 to front?
OK so I took it for a drive. It pulls most of 3rd and up. When I was in 2nd and got on it. It spun the front tires????I swapped t case, didn't change anything ... rearend maybe?1st gear can't go over 2k...2nd goes maybe to 3k before it slips...3rd-5k+...
Well I tried that, nothing...i guess flywheel even though I dont see what could of changed, maybe the ACT got to after awhile???.....thanks for the reply StarFawkes
Im not arguing but wont adjusting the pedal only change the point of disengagement. If there is no pressure against the fork the clutch should be engaged automaticly??? I also swapped pedal assembly from the old shell. Ive had it adjusted to where it grabs up top and off the floor, but no difference
Im having the same slipping problem. I have an ACT 2900 on a stock flywheel for about 4k. I swapped shells and now it slips. I even put a stock clutch in and nothing changed. im lost on what to try next. shifts fine. and slave is returning all the way. And it worked just fine till i swapped...
I have an ACT 2900 that i've put about 4k on, stock flywheel...I pulled the motor and trans, and put it in another shell. NOW, it slips. I replaced pedal assembly and i also replaced the ACT with a stock clutch...Nothing has changed. So, i have no idea what to do....Tranny shifts fine, just...
I have an ACT 290 on stock flywheel, ran about 4k on it. I swapped shells, never unbolted clutch and now after putting it in the new shell, it slips like crazy. It was fine before??? it shifts fine so note that disengagement is superb. Thinking of putting stock clutch back in to see what...
