My car has been sitting for a few years and I want to get it up and running again. My plans right now are to change the oil, drain the gas, and swap the battery. After that's done, prime the fuel pump and see what happens.Is there anything else I should do before I try and turn her over?

Well, looks like im taking the GS on this one, got the car running... for a day and it started acting up again. Now I'm pulling my motor out of frustration. Should be a fun project but i doubt i will be done by sept.
Well im glad its not for another month. My dsm died in my driveway after a spirited drive to the store and now it wont start. I'm debating if I want to even attemp to fix it or just start tearing it apart. Wish me luck:cry:
oh i've been there too. how about replacing the control unit to the powerwindows only to find out you just popped a fuse. turns out i was reading the fusebox cover sideways:D
Don't think i'm done, i got one more. I was installing my comp cams. No big deal VFAQ here i come. Well i did the install, everything looked to bein time but my car shouldnt start. if i gave it a little gas it would run but then die when i let my footoff the gas. I'm sitting there cussing...
AHHHHHH fun times. Well, I put my car back together after a turbo rebuild I was driving home and forgot to put on the oil cap..... no big deal just a huge mess of oil in an already dirty engine bay, but no oil cap to be found. Made it home, got a new oil cap and enjoyed the rent of my day...

i remember reading when they first cae out that they do not come with the stops like the stock shifter. You nee dto put your old stop on the fidanza unit or risk breaking shit.
I have nothing but good to say about FFTec. I'm in there about once a week buying somthing and they have great customer service. I recently had them rebuild my head for my talon. Havent installed it yet but it's BEAUTIFUL.

Update:I seem to have found out what the issue is. Apparently i have fuel cut defender on my maft which in turn limits airflow to 2200hz ( will confirm this tonight). With that switched off the problem was solved. Thanks for all the assistance and you guys have a happy holiday!Zack
If it's not the pump then I got a backup :thumb:. I don't think it's my fuel filter because I replaced that about a year ago. Just running out of ideas here. You think if i just bumped up the fuel pressure that would work as a bandaid till I figure this out? I'm only getting 16mpg right...

Thats a good idea. Never thought of doing that. I also moved my fpr last night because the line looked slightly kinked and bypassed the fp silenoid. Neither one worked. I will try the adjustment screw test tonight hopefully and let you know how it works out. I have my doubts though because...
I checked O-ring on pump.. All good there and i'm assuming that i check the adjustment screw on the fpr by doing another boost leak test? I have an Aeromotive but mine is the -10an one that I reduced to -6
