the broken part is a sway bar end link.also the surge could be from the idle position switch. im not sure if the 1.8's have them but if it does its a single wire sensor on the throttle body and it could cause it to surge. unplug it and see if it goes away and thats your problem.as for the...
i wouldn't mess with that unless you could get it for under a 1000 and thats still a stretch in my book. there seems to be alot of unknowns about the car and could cost you more down the road. just keep looking you'll find something better
i would definitely change your ecu. mine was having similar problems and giving codes for coolant temp sensor, iat, tps, and all the sensors and wiring were fine so i bought another ecu and fixed everything
maintenance like fluids, belts, timing belt and tensioner then fmic, walbro 255 with re wire, afpr, boost controller, boost gauge, wideband kit, full 3 inch exhaust, aftermarket air filter, and upgraded clutch.
that's what i did with mine and it runs fine. the only problem is the car doesn't know when its idling so you might have to adjust your idle if its to high/low
1. the tube is a oil line. might be used for the turbo oil feed but cant see where it goes with that pic2. the only vacuum lines you need are one to the fpr. one to the bov and one to the wastegate. everything else can be eliminated
different pistons don't really give you more hp they just allow you to handle more power and boost. if your going for 350 your stock pistons will be fine. spend your money elsewhere
