Have you checked the bulbs? also check the wires to the bulbs because they may have fried if they were flowing too much current.

the bov only needs the one fitting for boost source on the intake plenum. Do you have the mbc setup in the right direction and have you tried adjusting it at all? Do you have a aftermarket boost gauge?

Yeah if you have the a/c switch on then it will automatically switch the radiator fan on so this is normal and unrelated to the mirror issue..

what fuel are you running?

The motor swap is possible, however as far as making it faster yet keeping it "stock" might be kind of difficult. Raising boost is probably going to be your best option with out making it too obvious.

No this is not the only way. Do some searching. There are plenty of "how to's" on turbo removal and installations.

Does the engine lose power? If the engine is revving fine it should build boost until your wastegate opens, Is it an external wastegate? if so check the spring and make sure its not broken or weak.

Sounds like a difficult task. I would search the junkyards for one with the power option and try your best to get it out without breaking it. doesn't sound fun thats for sure.

Did you overheat the car when the old thermostat went bad? Does the car smoke at all at idle or under boost?

Loud car + ticket or quiet car - some h.p and no ticket. If you are making 550 hp i wouldn't worry about losing a few to save you from a ticket and lower your anxiety level.

The clear hose is over kill. People have been doing it without it for many years. Its proven unnecessary but as others have stated it doesn't hurt.
