I agree that it should be taken off and redone. But just go with flat black. You have too much going on here it doesn't look good even if it was done with the straitest lines possible, it still look bad.....
You talk to Tim yet?So to clarify goes in just fine with car off but not when running? Are your sure flywheel is not warped? A long shot but mine had some funky issues when it was warped. Wouldn't go into gear very easy and grind and slip.
Looks like a pretty solid set up, just wondering why you went with a lower compression piston for your set up. I may be completely wrong with my theory but I would think that you would want a higher compression piston to compensate for the lack of rpms you will safely be able tohit. I went with...
I started my engine build a few months ago with a buddy at his shop.I wanted to try something different so we decided to build a 2.3. After a few months this is where I'm at.I have 739 miles on
7 bolt block
2.4 forged crank
Scat rods
Ross 9.0:1 stroker pistons
Acl race bearings
Arp rod and...
What are your plans with the motor as far as the rebuild?Make sure you clean it out supper well, don't want a chunk of old bearing ruining your new ones! Also what bearings you going to use, I have had great luck with ACL race bearings....Good luck!
I did some investigating and I found they were dyed. They look amazing and stock, and did not show any signs of being dyed, unitll I took out the rear seats and saw some grey that had black sprayed on them. :oAnyways so they did not come stock, but They do look like it. I will be doing this...
I'm going to be checking everything I can think of when I get there. Any other ideas? What doesn't make sense is that it got better after I blew a hole in my coupler. So a big boost leak helped the drivability issues, but of course made it slow lolOk so I have been thinking. I know it is...
I had a 3inch hole in coupler and ran better than this. I know there is something more than a boost leak. This not even drivable.I will be doing this when I get home this weekend. I just want to get a few ideas as tow hat to look for before I get to there because I do not have much time...
So we got my car running a few weeks ago. We got the shell and it was pretty hacked up to say the least. WE fixed everything we saw and built this2.3 stroker 7bolt

Forged steel crank
Scat rods

I agree these cars will be worth something in the future. I am already saving to find A low mile clean GSX and sore It. This will be my graduation present to myslef after college. I am going to get a clean 99 gsx with black leather. If years down the line it is not worth much it will still be...
So we got the car running and driving, but not stopping very easily lol. The breaks need to be bled and the bleeders broke off of them so I am getting gsx breaks tomorrow. instaspool is no joke. This car is pretty nice under 3k it has a good amount of power. I can not wait till tomorrow so we...
My buddy has a white 95 talon that has black cloth seats. I am sure they were swaped in because it has the 97+ dash in it, but back seats and front both are black and look stock. The back seat is obviously from a dsm and fits perfectly and the fronts are the same. The cloth looks to have a...
Anyone know a good place to find these my buddy has them and has had countless DSM's and have never seen them before untill this car. I want to know what cars they came in so I can start searching for them.thanks
Thanks for the videos, this looks great. What was your final price for all of this. I have a black dash, center council, and steering wheel from my gsx with black/tan interior and want to do a black/grey conversion and will want to paint a lot of my plastics black. Looking forward to the final...
I will be getting my stroker running in a few days and am getting new axles like the ones stated above. who needs to spend 700 when you got a 2 year warranty. so for a little above 100 bucks you dont have to worry too much. I am sure I will break a few but doesnt take too long to change the...
I am lucky as hell to have a buddy who knows this much about these things, we are getting a lot done. motor is getting close to being all wired up. Ultimate goal is to at least have it started by this weekend, but that is with the limited time we have that our schedule's are both open at the...
I had a beautiful teal 1997 gsx, till I got in a accident on Christmas eve of last year. I swore I would not get another DSM for a bit and save my money. Well my buddy had a clean 1997 gst. It of course was white and had a great price tag so I jumped on it. We were going to just build a stock...
Thanks guys, I have to give credit to my buddy. I have been working side by side with him, because he has a much greater knowledge of building motors than me. I do not have the patience to paint everything to make it this pretty, but he made me lol. He also is a much better painter than I, you...
Well that sounds great, I was worried about this for the last few days. I shold have the car on the road soon, motor went in yesterday. Starting to hook everything up on monday. Taking the weekend to have some fun.EDIT:Turbo/manifold set up is not mine, buddy has it on there to mock up a...
5k should be fine to daily drive! thanks a lot for information. Did it idle and drive smooth like a stock set up with more power or any tuning issues? I am not worried if you said you brought it to 5k, but I am very curious if it was a pretty stock quality ride?I am looking forward to...
I have a 190 in it already. Thank you very much for the info. I have 2.5 inch exhaust and a 3 inch intake. So were you able to bring it to 6k or so with that set up or did it hit fuel cut?
I have searched high and low, but I have not got a definite answer on this. Can I daily drive my 1997 eclipse gst 2.3 stroker with stock 450cc injectors and stock ecu. I will not be going above 4000 for break in, so I want to know if this will be an issue. I understand that I will run out of...
HA I think I have chosen the FP3065, but we will see where finances are. If I cheap out I will get a hx40 which still looks to be a very solid choice. I have not been payed this month because of the Government shut down, Lets hope they figure this crap out soon so I can afford to even drive the...
I really like the idea of the FP 3065. Thanks for the info!I have to get off my wallet, but It should be worth it. It will not give too bad of turbo lag, but will still give me plenty of power. Now I need to find a intake mani that will handle the power....Thanks a lot guys!
chris
I am just trying to get a decent set up started and will be changed several times own the line. I may go to dsmlink I f I can not get what I want out of flashing the ECU. The COP is more for looks right now and If I run into issues I may change it, But it looks so nice on my motor :).
I will...
Ok I guess I underestimated the drivability factor. I guess I will have to master tuning so I can figure out boost by gear and start saving for awd!I am going to have any driveability problems when just casually driving or is it only going to be when I really get on it?
I actually am looking to use another clutch set up that my buddy has. I will get back to you guys with the model, but this one was for his 700 HP car.I am confused on the last poster who said that anything larger than a 16g will not be a good idea? Wouldn't the extra lag be good for a fwd...
The reason is because I like torque and want to have something different. Its not about the HP mark its about how the car will be driven. I could care less if It is 300hp as long as it is what I want. I want to have good power without boost. which the displacemnet and the higher compression...

Looks to be a good build. I am almost ready to instal my 2.3 stroker in my 97 gst. It's nice to see someone else putting a stroker in a fwd. How is the traction?
Alright, Ill drive it over so you can help me! lol Ya I will figure it out. I need to find those youtube videos that breaks it down Barney style on a evo. That should help out a lot.ps-Flash I have not forgotten about you wanting the radiator support. We will get that to you before I junk...
I am still a bit confused because I do not remember reading anything about wiring in anything when I read through the thread started by ceddy. I will go back and read it again it's been a whileI am thinking about breaking it in with stock injectors, stock intercooler, stock ecu, and a 16g...
Update on my situationI got the tactrix 2.0 cable with the flash connectors. I also have a 98 flashable ecu.Question 1- Where do these plastic plugs go? I am assuming the one with the wire comming off that plugs into the actual tactrix 2.0 thing goes somewhere neer the obd2 port? The...
Just get a seven bolt. Crank walk is not really as common as people make it out to be. If your woried go with a 98+ block with split thrust bearings. If you went with a six bolt then you would use 2g trans. No need for any adaptor kit. Clutch is enterchangable too only change would be flywheel...
Ok, so I will talk to tim about the trans, but I will not be able to throw down that kind of cash till june when I get another installment of my bonus from the army. Now on to the turbo, I would like to bring my power band down as low as possible, but with the FWD I want to know where you...
