SOLVED!
Wanted to give an update.
My reverse issue ended up being that I had the reducing valve and the blue spring in the shift kit in the lower valve body flip flopped. Don’t know how I missed that with the 10 times I had it apart.Had a different issue where I would shift 1-2 and nothing...
Disconnected the solenoids and NSS and shifted to reverse by hand. Video below of stall.I also attached a picture of the valve body. O-ring is still there and all the valves move smoothly.
Just finished up my auto swap using a ratchet shifter and a shift kit. I have all forward gears but when I try to select reverse the car stalls immediately (like it hits a wall) almost as if something is locking up/ binding.Anything I should be looking for? On the IPT install instructions it...
Yes, I do have a few buddies that know a thing or two and they have helped tremendously. I think a big issue I was having was keeping the piece I was welding sturdy. I don't have a welding table yet so everything moves around. I have gotten much better since first practicing but still nowhere...
Got to practice some. Still playing with some settings. I really need to work on feeding the filler and dabbing it and keeping the tungsten out of the puddle/ filler. So much harder to do than I thought it would be.
Engine is back in, wiring harness is all hooked up, and has power now that the battery is relocated to the trunk and all hooked up. Just waiting for my radiator and manifold then it should run!
Got a lot done. Wiring harnesses are in. Dash is all together. Got my block almost assembled, just waiting for my oil pickup and my headgasket. Then the cams and everything else can go in/ on it.The engine bay is now black and subframes and brake lines are back on.Got my wastegates so once...
Awesome! Thank you! Got them both figured out! Both connect right behind the dash, accessed through the hole behind the fender. One goes to a yellow connector and one to a black connector attached to the dash. They can not be mixed up as the pattern on the plugs are different.
well no luck yet, wondering if they connect to the other harness (that is still out of the car)Looked some more and found one might be for a sunroof.. I never had one but maybe it's still wired?
Hey guys I need some help, I over excitedly took off the tape on some of my plugs on the fuse box harness and can't remember where they went .
I need to know where these 2 plugs, plug into.
Both are single wires, and are very long. One is white and one is white with a black stripe. They go back...
Got my pistons exchanged, block should be done soon! All the "shaving" is done, just need to sand the fire wall then it's ready for paint. In the mean time I will be ordering all new front knuckles, a-arms and lower control arm/ balljoints to replace whatever is bent and causing excessive...
BIG UPDATE:
Ran into a little issue/ set back. Block that I thought was std. bore was in fact already .020 over.. Had to exchange my pistons for some .040 ones.
The wiring harnesses are done! Got the dash back in and the interior harness all hooked up. Soo Clean!
I also decided on a Borg Warner...
This was my first pass ever. Was on 28psi. Had issues going from first to second in the upper rpm range.

Hey guys. Just going to make a list of some of the things the car has been through and what all i've changed on it along with the up coming build I am in the process of doing with a goal of ~700awhp. I should have lots of pics.So to start it off. I got the car completely stock besides a...
Going to be making a new build thread as this one is cluttered and the car has made changes and had a few passes and is now getting redone over the winter for a new build along with going much bigger.
tdo6 20g. Delete The coolant lines. Can get a non turbo water pipe as well to help. You will need to dent the water pipe a little. I have that same turbo. Posted pic of it.
UPDATE: Put all 10 new bearings in the trans and it's very tight. Took it for a test drive and it is still vibrating!!
Going to try to find a 91-96 t-case that I can test out to verify that it's not that. Other than that I was thinking; flywheel or driveshaft hangers off by a tiny bit.
Received everything ordered, looks like I might have to order new input shaft bearings as well, as I noticed a little play in it once I took the 5th gear off
Got everything ordered for my AWD trans to be rebuilt; Upper and lower intermediate shaft bearings to get rid of the vibration, rear diff seals to stop the leak and a recall yoke kit to rebuild the driveshaft with.:thumb:
Will hopefully be getting her done soon!
Been rocking an open downpipe for the last couple weeks. Just got around to adding a resonator and down section to point exhaust gases towards the ground. Lots more quiet now. Going to building a 3" system once I go back to the AWD transmission.
I also touched up my idle a little bit.
Well guy's figured out the issue. Right now it looks as if the intermediate shaft bearings have play. Going to be looking more into the trans to make sure nothing else is messed up as well.
Just found out I have the same issue with my awd trans.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es1vWWQMaMU&feature=youtu.be
Is the process the same? I see it says they use the same bearings.
Well I finally got around to looking more into the trans.
Pulled the end cover off and the 5th gear/syncro and intermediate gear both had some side play. No in/out play.
Lots of tiny silver metal shavings inside as well.
I've never heard or read that, but I could see how that's possible. Thanks for the Link! I was looking for one for a 2g awd trans but couldn't find a good one.:thumb:
Well guy's I think I got it figured out.
Took the axles out of the trans and started it up. put it in gear and reved it up through 3rd and it started to feel like a wobble or imbalance. This leads me to believe it has something to do with the tranny. Going to be removing it and taking it apart...
Thats what I thought but it didn't fit on there (hole was too small) Works fine without it tho!Drum style parking brake. Disc brakes front and back. Single piston on GST
