I'm out in maui. only 92 awd tsi on the island. got a buddy that has the 92 fwd tsi and 3 others with 2g's but dont know them at all. Anyone else in Maui?
so i got a buddy thats bringing a timing light to work tomorrow and ill set the base timing at 5 deg btdc. from there ill start with the tuning. hes got a wrx that i went in a ride in the other day. one word....slow. ill show him why he should have bought a dsm. ill keep you posted.
Well the idea was that while im in there i can replace the stick and repair the problem. talked with my parts department. Found 2 diffrent types of bushings. One is 1.83$ and the other is 10 bucks for the"blue". I got a 92 awd talon. Whats the count on the blues?
well just ordered a short shifter from e bay. if it works out without the bushings then great but that question still was not answered by a link. thanks for the great effort on that reply.
been looking into this. is a ebay short shifter going to replace the bushings used on the shifter shaft" the part that the shifter rotates on"? don't want to waste money on something that i don't need to buy. like only needing a few as apposed to 7 of the 24594b's. thanks for the input.

its proven that the intercooler i am using is a pos! so to take care of that my trv1859 is in the mail. after that i will get a meth/water injection setup. then i will do my final tune and take her to the track. ill keep everyone posted with the results but im sure the intercooler is the problem...
knock sensor was replaced about a year ago and recently inspected. the intercooler i have is the cx racing vertical flow. i got a treadstone trv1859 on the way along with some radiant heat barrier for the cool side of the ic piping. this shoulddo the trick as soon as its installed and retuned...

would a big 16g be too much for the tr185 at 22psi? don't want to get this treadstone performance ic and have the same problem as i got right now. i have looked all over and found nothing about proven results with this tr185. Or would the 1859 be the better option? thanks!

first of all i have adjusted the fpr to 45 psi and am running br7es plugs. right now they are cracking down on loud exhaust's so i had to install the baffle for now and now i cant get much more then 13psi now. need to adj the ebc and start over again. ill try cutting back on the timing and see...

that would be something to check. i do think that did the correct setting on the gear. it would be something to check but i added 2% fuel on the high load setting on the maft gen 2 and it was a lot better. not much knock at all but i should look into the timing. its been a while ...i need to...
i do have a wide band, innovate ls-1. i havent got it to work correctly on the lap top yet. changed the fuel filter and noticed a little less knock. im thinking its the intake air temp. i guess some race gas would be one way to figure out if its air temp issue. i did up the fpr to 40 psi.
if its slow at the shop friday ill pump up the pressure and see whats going on with the duty cycle. im also going to clean the maf and change the fuel filter and get back to you. i hate knock and its taking the fun out of driving!!!!! thanks guys!!!

i turned down the boost to 12psi and the waste gate cracks at 10 but still boosting 18psi+. ??? well new prob to mess with. they dont specify enough on spring crack pressure. aem tru boost is going to be the end to my motor! lol!
