make sure you have no leaks on your TB. between your TB and intake. when i replaced my tb i had a huge leak i guess the gasket did hold or what not but i put rtv all around that sucker and wallahh it was fixed.
boost leakers, vacuum leaks, make sure everything is snug tight with no leaks. i don't know about the noise but if you're boosting and your boost gauge bounces up and down you have a leak.
okay my tsi wont start again. i kick start it and no problem it starts.
i know its my starter, but when i turn the key to on i can hear the starter spinning.
the only click i hear is in the cabin, i had my sister turn the key for me and i can hear the starter spinning or is that the solenoid...
i actually have done a study on this myself. my girl lives 40 miles away and for the past 5 months ive been trying to figure out my mpg.
if i drive abiding by speed limit i get around 30 mpg on hwy
if i drive like how we should drive our dsm i get around 22 mpg hwy
city wise when i'm broke and...
i think one 12 is enough for our cars. try one out first because i have an alpine type r on my 1g and i set all the bass knobs to zero because its already loud enough. plus you want to hear your car every now and then.
when i bought my talon it had the evo 3 16g turbo kit w/the manifold. its been on the car for 10k+ and still works wonders. 15lbs daily. im just waiting for it to crap out and ill put an hx35.
check around your TB if you replaced the isc then thats good. check the gaskets between the intake and tb and the gasket between the tb and the tb elbow. when you get a chance replace the gasket and apply rtv
here you go. all you need to know about vacuum lines, mbc, capping and what not.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-miscellaneous/198327-taboo-speed-shop-vacuum-diagram-removal-1g-2g.html
Hey guys
well i got a AEM wideband from a fellow member for a good price.
i know AEM is not the best wideband but it will have to do for now.
i plan on getting link once taxes comes and probably LC wideband.
im about to install the AEM wideband and everything is pretty much plug and play...
mine does the same thing every now and then. my starter is new and most of the time it start perfectly sometimes it seems like the battery is low and it cranks. i figured out how to start it when it doesn't i just turn the key really fast from lock to on. it will work
take a lot of pictures of before and after. so you know how to put things back together, label it and make sure the labels don't fall off and get yourself a service manual. i want to do the same thing but i dont trust myself yet
It took awhile to find the correct wire. There were so many different similar post, but no had a definite answer. I thought I would just share this, just in case someone else wants to install a Maft to a 90 cas.
Well After looking through almost 200 threads for the past few days,
Asking around where I can tap in the white wire from the Maft to an RPM
signal on a 1990 CAS I finally found it.Mods if you want to make this a sticky you can because I am pretty sure more people will encounter this...
its in your throttle body, maybe your isc, your biss screw or the gasket is leaking. i had the same problems with my idle. i bought another tb from the classifieds and now it idles perfectly.
installing the new clip was easy. taking off the clip was hard. for the love of god it took me half an hour. and then finally i thought crap i can use pliers lmaoo. you live and you learn!
lol i did the same exact thing last night. that green nipple thing on the pedal was a PITA! A PITA!!! to take off. u used pliers to take it off and it did.
okay i have literary gone through almost all post regarding maft 1g setup, 90 cas rpm signal.
and it has come to a tie between the yellow wire or the black wire. im pretty sure someone here is running a Maft on a 90 cas.please close. it has been resolved.
yup it fits but it loops around all the way. i thought when i ordered this it would be smaller lol. but the throttle response is WOW! i have to get use to not punching it because the slightest touch it goes!
okay i got my 1g non cruise control cable today. i ordered it from one of our vendors and is it just me or is the cable really long? mine stand about my height. i mocked its really really long. do i have to loop it somewhere or something. im pretty sure i got the right part#i got the dorman...
okay i don't know which pin is which. these are the wires that connect to the cas which is connected to the firewall.black or yellow or black and yellow jk.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=118238&stc=1&d=1296501912
i made a thread but i think people were confused because i asked for so many things.
i installed my gm mas to my UICP and the maft is ready to go.
but im having a problem connecting the WHITE wire from the MAFT.
i have a 1990 talon and our CAS is not the same as the 91+
there are only 4...
vfaq.com has a lot of free mods you can do. some might not be for performance but that site is amazing has almost everything you need to know about anything.

if you have fry's electronics they have everything. if i go this week ill see if they have one. im pretty sure its only a couple of bucks. ill get it and u just pay me for the actual item and shipping.never mind your in cali. you should have a frys
anyone have any input on where i can tap the rpm signal on the maft on a 90 cas? do i even have to tap that if im running a safc II?
i just bought a wideband it should be in by wednesday.
yes you are going to spend a lot of money and hitting your head trying to tune the so called plug and play MAF Translator. yes it does plug directly to your stock mas adapter and to the gm mas, but since you have a 90 im assuming you'll have a 90 cas also which doesn't have the black wire...
indeed MAFT is plug and play (no play fun)thanks for the help jugs, ive been reading up on ## thread about the maft aswell. what did you set your dials in and the mode setting.there's one that tells me 1 off 2 off 3 off 4 off all dials zeroed for stock
i have one telling me 1 off 2 off 3 on...
yes i know i can run that to the ecu, but as i stated i already tapped that the rpm for the safc II.Wiring the AFC into the 24 pin connector
1) RPM Wire: Connect the Green wire of the AFC harness to the Black wire corresponding to the connector hole as shown above (bottom row, 4th from...
i know to install it is pretty much plug and play. but the 90 cas only has 4 wires black red white and yellow which is mounted on the firewall. the white wire from the maft has to connect to the rpm signal on the cas, i have read the quick and easy maft installation on the tech forum, it shows...
