Does anyone have consensus on what inner/outer toe rods are needed for each chassis?I’ve got a 2g with equal length inner and outer tie rods, tie rod ends are the longer set from what I can see in this thread and I have a greater steering angle to the drivers side than I do to the passenger...
I messaged the seller and confirmed that the gaskets can be sealed multiple times as long as they’re not damaged, although there isn’t currently a gasket set available he can sell extra gaskets and will be adding them to their website which is currently under construction.
So at literally half...
Any feedback from anyone that have been using this?Has anyone had to remove the cover after install, can the gasket be sealed multiple times, or do you need to order a replacement gasket kit from AER?
Agreed that it’s the same solution and I can’t tell you why when I went directly to the motor I didn’t see the same result but in ecstatic to have it working. Thank you for the guidance!!!
that second connector you show for the motor that’s just 2 pins where is that? When using only that 9 Pin connector that plugs in to the factory window/lock switch assembly the factory relay (I assumed there was one but wasn’t sure) definitely complicates the process as to go up You have to...
Hi, I’ve put aluminum door panels in my car and they came with 5 pin window switches.it seems that the factory wiring must use a relay somewhere as there are always 4 wires involved to make the window move.To go up you must jump Pin 8 to Pin 9 (which then causes Pin 6 to become hot) and...
I made a bracket for the drivers seat and I’m unhappy with what I built. So I’ve ordered planted seat brackets. I took the feet off the rails and plan to mount the rails directly to the planted brackets. My welds are ugly and I realized when I put it in the car for the first time that the...
Thread revival... I’m working on installing a set of 4g seats now. I have all the center console and carpet ripped out and I’m not confident I’ll be able to push the seat over far enough to center the seating position with the steering wheel. I’m curious if anyone else has done this and how the...
Hi hoping someone can help me out here. I have an early 95 TSI AWD with ABS.The 4 white wires that come off the fuse box to the positive battery terminal were bypassed and the wiring that had replaced it was a hack job. 2 leads go to alternator and I think that’s correct but I’m not clear...
Thanks!
I can make 2 things stick together but I’m no welder... I know a guy that could help me out though.A few more questions for you.1. Can I just pull the white electrical connector straight out of the top after unplugging the pump?
2. I assume I need steel fittings? With all the rust...
I don’t have a pic handy, but I can explain what I mean the 90* bend in the nipple has a crack in it and fuel is spraying out of it when under pressure.I assume I must have pushed on it during install and bent it allowing the crack to happen.I’m planning on pulling it this weekend and...
Yes I’ve also seen the prices all over the map. Which is the only reason I considered the full blown unit. If it’s going to cost me $500 regardless new billet parts seems like a better value than 20 year old rusted parts...I am sensitive to the fuel vapors though so full blown isn’t looking...
Hi,
I just recently got this build running. I have my wideband powered via pin 12 on the ECU. Initially it was working fine. I disconnected the battery and I had to weld in a new core support. In that process the only thing electrical I touched was the wiring for the cylinder just before the ac...
Hello,
The barb for the return on my sending unit has blown out.I’ve read that the full blown units have a tendency to leak... currently I’m running factory fuel lines to the filter and from the tank to the FPR.Now that you can’t buy new sending units what’s the best route to go?
1. repair...
Bringing this back from the dead...I have a 95 talon and the upper frame rails by the headlights had some damage and the ABS pump has been pushed in also.I land in the minority where I would like to keep ABS, but I need to remove the lines and drop the ABS so I can do a proper repair. Is...
thanks! I have my wideband going to PIN 75 for rear o2 73 is documented as MDP so I felt like using the pin basically changes nothing functionality wise. I’ll probably still take your advice and go with an upgraded mitsu style sensor though it’s the easiest solution for sure!
I have no doubt this has been covered but I’m just not managing to use the right words in my search.I’m running v3 and I have an OEM MDP Sensor. I was going to upgrade to a 3 bar, however my PLX Boost gauge is a 3 bar and has an analog output. So the 2 questions I have are:
1. Is unplugging...
I know this thread is old but I’m just curious if anyone is using this method with success on axles that don’t have the flat spot in the cup like OEM axles did...
Thanks so much! My dinner plans got canceled so I just went and traced it back to the tank and was going to post some more pics. I guess that probably connected to the charcoal canister that I don’t have?
I’ll be able to next time I work on it, going to be a few days before I get back out there so I figured I’d ask. I’ll report back with my findings though in case anyone else runs across this.
Can anyone tell me what this is? Appears to be a secondary fuel line if I was making a wild guess... but I only have one line coming off the tank. Car is an early 95 TSI AWD. I don’t have this line on my 98 gst donor car.
Installing a walbro 450, I drilled out my syphon hole to 7/64 and I’m trying to put everything back together, and can’t get that side with the o-ring down all the way. If I put the o-ring on the tube it rolls over the flare. If I put it in the plastic casing and lubricate liberally with saliva...
Small update, I haven’t spent much time on it but the 2-3mins I had when the Evo o-ring arrived has me convinced of you get this seated it will absolutely seal, getting it seated properly is going to be a chore though. Hopefully I’ll get out there and get it done this weekend.
Ha ha! If I wasn’t married I’d be in trouble. She keeps me grounded. But she is good to me, we have 3 kids in car seats and I drive a corvette. The only thing she said when I bought it was “Why don’t you get a new one?”
Reviving this... it’s 2019 and raspberry pi and other miniature computers are readily available with USB interface, Wifi, Bluetooth etc. is anyone running the link interface from a small form factor pc and displaying it on a touchscreen in the dash?I’m not really at this point in my build yet...
Lol yeah, like most DSMs it’s a long story. Short version... I had a built GST and it’s been sitting for a few years. I decided to get it back on the road and it’s rusted out. So I picked up an AWD TSI that I could just swap all my “good stuff” over to and be running in a month... that was...
Thank you for the alternate solution. I’ll keep this in mind if I’m unhappy with the 450. For now though I don’t have a 250 and I’ve long since blown my build budget lol so I’ll keep pushing forward with the 450 for now.1st thing I’ll correct from my post above is that based on what comes in...
Ok let’s take it from the top...
I just read every post and I’m more confused now than when I started...
For now I don’t intend to upgrade my feed or return lines nor do I want to go down the bulkhead road, if I require more fuel than what stock lines can supply with this pump then I'll go down...
Thanks, that is what I was using to gather the details I have so far. I wanted to do the OHM harness but my wife put the brakes on that pretty quick LOLThank you for the link! I should be able to have this straightened out pretty easily now.
So here is what I’m working with:Issue 1.1: Pin 75, wire is cut and has 3’ of wire spliced into it going nowhere.
I believe there was once a wideband installed.
Fix: remove extra wire and solder/heat shrink harness wire back together...
Thank you both for your help! I've sourced another harness from a 95/96 that hasn't been molested to swap in. This could likely be fixed, but I don't know what else has been done to it...
Hi, I hate to start new threads because I know its been covered somewhere but I'm just not finding it with search...I am working on an AWD build. I am swapping the engine from my 98 GST into an Early 95 TSI AWD.The wiring has been touched a lot on the TSI and I don't have any history of the...
