The black wire you are unhooking is the sensor ground. If you want the iat and the maf to both work the black ground wire will have to be hooked to both.

I think I have located it, I am about 90% sure it is the coil power. I will be doing more research and tracing every wiring schematic I can find on alldata and mitchell1, and post what I come up with.

It is your turbo. my oil filter came off my car and it starved my turbo from oil for a few seconds and my bearings went out. mine still make the sound like it was spooling and it still have vacuum but would not go into boost.

First thing i would do is take your throttle body off and clean it with break clean and put new throttle body gaskets on it. My eclipse did that when one of my seals went out in my turbo and got oil into my throttle body. After i cleaned it and put new gaskets on it, it fixed the idle serge.

On my 97 eclipse gst the throw out bearing locked up and it grabbed onto the spacer that goes on the imput shaft to the transmission and ate it all up. Does anyone know where i could order one? or what the name of it would be?

well i found out it wasent the starter. a rod bolt broke and the rod was making the noise. anyone know where i can get a 6 bolt crank from?

it was like a clunking/ticking/scuffing combined, if that makes sence. but it would get louder when i pushed in the clutch then get quieter when i let it back out.

well i put my other starter in that i had and it still did it. but i took the trans out and there were marks on the pressure plate but i cant really tell if its from the starter or not.

thanks everyone it was a boost leak it was one of the cuplers that had a tear in it i got it fixed i used a boost tester and no boost leaks now i was on my way home from school and a kid behind me said when i drop it down it sends out some black smoke is that normal or just some extra fuel or what?

i am also running very rich like my friend who was behind me when i took of he said there was like a lot of smoke comming out of my exhaust and it was doing it thought the whole rpm range but it only smokes when im on it when im crusin its fine with no smoke

yea ill take pictures of my engine bay soon but the reason i dont think it is a boost leak is i just redid all of my piping last week and made sure nothing was leaking and also my bov is not vented into the atomsphere
