The only thing I would be worried about is have the crank off balance, nor would i even trust this in a higher hp car.. buy a new crank which should be to expensive. Most people just trash the 7-bolts.
It's hard to tell on camera. It looks off a tooth on the crank.. Make sure the marks line up.. NOT the teeth on the cam gear. Turn the motor over a few times and line up the marks. See if they line up again.
Ditch the cheap shit and go to a HKS Exhaust. They are much quiet at idle. I never get bother by cops in my area. HKS puts in long smaller resonators that helps keep noises down. Plus the thicker metal helps too.
Im in the processes of building a 6-bolt motor for my 98. I want to rev to 9K.. Ive heard from more than one person that the lifter at that RPM will see too much oil pressure. Any where from 100-130 psi at the head witch the lifter can not bleed out fast enough and end up with bent valves...
I would look into the Fidanza 3.2 Performance clutch. Its a four puck Kevlar, sprung disc that drive like a stock clutch, and can take repeated launches. Check out the video that they have on there homepage.. I've been doing this for a while and I learned allot from the video. I want to try...
I would recommend replacing the low oil pressure sensor and check to see if the wires are good... Maybe spending some money on a real oil pressure gauge and seeing if it dips.. Check your oil for any silver metal too.
I know that Borg Warner turbos are more efficient then Garrett but I don't know about the Bullseye exhaust housing?? That does make or break a turbo... I'm interested in seeing how it dynos

I Launch my Girlfriends Stock 95 GSX and the thing lauches Soft. That 1/4 time sound like what a stock AWD auto will do. Good job.On a side note
I went 14.6 on my 5 speed.
I would love to see more pictures of the intank pump and plumbing. The only think I would be worried about not getting enough fuel to the pump side when the tank is 1/4 full. The GSX tank is very weird. I just decided to go with a fuel cell. That is very creative
I'm on a 38mm offset and i'm running 235/45 17 no rubbing but i've got like 2mm leftDrag racing on low profile tire is not a good Idea. Try to stay away from big rims, low profile tires, and stiff side walls.
This is a stupid thread but I was just wondering where people have placed their hood pins on the 2G. How far apart and position of the latch. Pictures would be great.
Bullet Proof LMAO.. No way any DSM trans is bullet proof. The problem with the transmission is the gears (4th being the weakest) can't hold up to the the power. I would say 380+ WHP is when you will start seeing breakage. I don't understand why people think that any DSM trans that was built is...
I've done over 10 plus installs of my car or other friends cars. I've installed them all like A, but I put the end of the clip on the TOB and not under it. So I think I works. But :shhh: Don't tell anyone.
The Starter is the same from the fwd and awd. It's the bell housing on the trans moves the starter into the right spot. I'm not sure because I'm not a N/A guy.. I going to say that you will need a neon flywheel. 420a are neon motors.
A is correct except that the ends need to be lifted on the TOB. Just like the center. I hope that helps Try it and take another picture. I'll tell you if it's right.
On the AWD vs. FWD flywheels the awd flywheel is smaller and the FWD is bigger. If you can use a FWD turbo flywheel then you will not be able to use a AWD one.
If you don't have the money then just pick up a stock diff. When you get the money get one. You really will not be able to drive a welded front diff. Have you even taken the trans appart?
-How was the process from start to finish?
It was fine. I went in person to drop my trans, Jon is awesome.. He taught me so much about my gear box. Every time I go up I'm excited, because of all the new info I learn from him.-How long did Jon take?
John take about 2 week.-Any issues...
The transfer case locks up and you can die.. You can't die from breaking your shifter. They did nothing for us when there was a class action law suit for the rims and when the lips would bend causing blow outs. You can still do it, but IMO it's not worth the time.
I've never heard of anyone making bushings for the rear diff. The problem sound like a bad carrier bearing.http://www.geocities.com/qwik93awd/Vfaq/rearendthumpfix.htm
Same here. The welds broke on mine.. I drove the car home using the cables.. LOL.Nanan, now you know 3 ;)Luck for me my friend welds. I just had it fix.Boosted98gsx, Not worth it. You will get nothing from it. :(
