Try changing out your tranny fluid. If there are metal flakes in it you could have a problem with the gears. From what it sounds like thoe its probably a stretched shifter cable, worn rubber bushings on the tranny or reverse light switch. Its either serious or not... As in live with it, repair...

So I got some new head bolts from autozone. What do I put on the ends for when I tighten them down? Someone said there were different tourqe specs for different lubes. I'm in the dark. Do I just tighen them down dry?

I've been the razor blade route before. Is there a reason you guys don't use a gasket scraper? You know the blunt scraping type. O, and on the old headgasket the metallic looking stuff on each side it graphite right? What would happen if it got into the oil/coolant passages from when I scraped...

So would marvel mystery oil be fine for pre lubricating the head and cams before I toss her on? Couldn't hurt is my oppinion... and the piston and cylinder walls.. Also what should I use to clean the gaskets and gasket surfaces? Brake cleaner? I'm not sure if I mentioned that I coated the deck...

Copper spray? That sounds too sweet/usefull to exsist. Use the spray on and in between the exhaust gasket layers? Is it also good for the throttle body and intake gaskets? Does it cook good grub? Does the family have money?

If you have the two stock brackets for the cherry picker thats going to be your best bet. Disconnect Ziplock/Label Remove hood Pop her out.... Now if you wan't the easy way for dirt and gravel areas. Skip the cherry picker and chain it to a back hoe :D

So with the galant head I'll have to use my cam sensor. I take it your saing it will bolt right in. With any other head 97 or 98 do I use the cam sensor on it? Is it the same plug and everything? Or will I need to jack the connector on the wire harness and swap it to my wire loom?
