1G DSM Hood Prop w/Hardware(2 mounting pieces). Overall great condition, foam still good, and has a nice shine to it except at the bottom where the mounting hardware attaches. It's hard to get a good picture without the shiny metal causing a glare. If you need additional photos to show...
Ok, I will use this method for installation. The camshafts themselves actually arrived today in the mail, which was surprising since they weren't supposed to ship until September. I will probably install them in the next few weeks.
I ordered some new old-stock cam seals and the part is the older part number MD133317. Should this seal be solid and hard to bend or should it be soft and bendable rubber?I am swapping camshafts for the first time so this is new to me as to what characteristics this seal should have.
I recently purchased some ITM 3g revised lifters part number 056-5137 off ebay. However, the lifters I received don't look like the ones on all the DSM vendor websites with the same part number. The box is stamped 056-5137 on the parts I received from ebay. The only picture I could find...
I have a DSM valve cover with the Mitsubishi Logo for sale.Great condition, no damage to mounting threads/holes, no cracks.$150 + shipping and PayPal fees.
Some older pics from when I first did some cleaning. A little elbow grease goes a long way. 25 years of dirt and grime wiped away to reveal perfectly fine paint underneath. First picture shows a before and after result.I had some some mildew growing on the rubber molding of the sidemarker...
Hagerty just had an article written that said the price of 1g's went up by 45% since 2020.It really is no different than average muscle cars(not the rare ones) of the 60's and 70's going for 30-40k in the late 90's. They were 25-30 year old vehicles and there was a market for them whether it...
Car currently has manual ecu, BCS pill removed, MAF silencer removed, K&N air filter, and 3 inch downpipe with 3 inch cat delete connected to stock exhaust piping with muffler. It's running slightly more boost than stock due to the downpipe I believe. I always run 94 octane Sunoco whenever...
Car now has 62k miles on her. Still running fantastic as you would imagine a low mile DSM to drive. Idles perfectly, all gauges still work, never overheats in traffic, and starts first crank even after sitting in storage all winter. However, the car will now start it's journey to what some...
I am swapping a 14b onto my 1g auto 13g Talon. I believe I have all the supporting parts figured out except for the following question. Can I re-use the oil-return line from the 13g for this swap?I have new oil feed and coolant lines so those are taken care of. I just cant find a definitive...
The tires are cheap tires and it sits for approximately 6 months out of the year in storage(November through April). That might make sense because when I first bought it, it had also been sitting for over a year actually. When I had no vibrations the last 2 years the outside temperatures were...
Thank you, I'm proud to call this one mine now. I found it within 30 minutes of the person posting it online after looking for many years for a good condition 1G....day after day searching online. The owners manual in the glovebox has the original owners name printed on it and her address. A...
I will look into these in more detail the next time I drive it and let you guys know what I find. It feels more through the steering wheel rather than the seat. Thanks for the suggestions!
No issues at all while accelerating at partial or full throttle. It's only once you reach a certain speed and it remains constant.Just confusing because it had no issues at all last summer for roughly 2 summers of driving and now the problem has returned.
1991 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Auto. 62k miles, all OEM parts. When I purchased this all original Talon it would have a highway vibration at 75mph. At the time of purchase the car already had new tires installed and new brake pads and rotors. I chalked it up to maybe the tires were never balanced...
I have for sale a new, never used TCU shift box for an Auto DSM. Bought this last year and have decided to go a different path with my build. Includes wiring instructions. Upshift button, downshift button, and gear display.$100+shipping.Local pickup available in Oakland County, Michigan.
That was my point on the electric cars, that ALL gasoline cars which have a good following will increase in value dramatically at that point in time. It's not a matter of if they switch to electric, it's a matter of when. Europe has already got the ball rolling with it's plan to phase out...
I don't agree with that at all. The DSM platform has a huge following and for good reason. It doesn't matter what you or I paid, it matters what the next person is going to pay and bone stock dsms consistently bring in high dollar amounts with EASE. It's quite hard to sell a fully modified...
Again, it's not an investment(That's just added bonus), it's more of a fully functioning time capsule. I am enjoying it, I expect my 1st car show trophy this year. If nobody cared about stock DSM's then they wouldn't sell for more money than a fully modified DSM.There is a reason my garage...
They will top out around 20k in my opinion. I would put the value of mine at roughly 6-7k as it sits currently. I am only 35 years old, so I have no problem having this be a garage queen for the next 30 years. I will only put about 500 miles a year on it and take it to a few local car shows...
This is why I can't touch my bone stock 1G Talon without regretting it in the future, the price keeps going up every year. The devil on my shoulder says "Go on, get some bolt-ons, lets just do a mild 16g build", and I have to keep pushing him away.I still feel like I won the lottery, since I...
Oh I know the prices are hilarious on most of these. I was just showing that alot of these nice DSM's are still out there, not beaten to hell and back.
There are still quite a few of these gems hiding in peoples garages. Bare minimum there are at least 30 more examples of pristine condition DSM's. Never give up the search, they are out there.Even pristine 2G's can be found. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/731319606/overview/
My 59k mile 1G Bone Stock Talon rides like what I imagined it to from the factory. I love taking it for a spin around town, it's like going in a time capsule.Starts right up, idles perfectly, has A/C and heat, stock radio, 7 year/70k warranty stickers still there, stock rims, even has the...
Once gasoline engines get banned in favor of electric all gasoline engine vehicles will skyrocket in value, especially those that are good platforms like the DSM. People will want to drive them because they were an experience.....the sound, the power delivery, boost, and the exhaust fumes of a...
I am about to send out my order soon! The transformation of my bone stock 91 will begin this winter. I've been debating between the E316G and the 68HTA, and I keep going back to the 68HTA over and over again. You can't beat that price! For those of you NOT running E85, what size injectors...
Wow, I never thought I would be seeing clean DSM's come out of Brazil! I have been visiting Brazil for about 5 years, for business. However, I am mostly trapped in the busy city area. I fly into São Paulo/Guarulhos. I think the nearest area to you I have visited is Porto Allegre.I hope you...
This is my first post on DSMTuners. I joined way back in 2003 but never posted, just lurked and read the forums. I grew up in the 80's/90's and have always loved the 1G Talons. I have previously owned a 1G FWD Talon 5 speed which I drove until it blew a head, then I bought a bone stock 1G AWD...
