hey, before you throw an ecu at it like i did on my dsm, try giving the fuel pump a straight 12v from an external source and then try to start it up. i had a issue similar and it ended up being a faulty pin in the ecu. it was the pin that gave the mpfi relay its ground to keep the pump running...
Whoops, sorry my page wasn't refreshed, but basically for overall handling. I'm game for all sorts of driving from autox to road racing.Haha funny that you asked because I basically made this thread to help me decide on which springs and how much drop :)
Hey guys. I've searched and searched, but haven't found the answers I'm looking for since every setup is different. I would like to know what kind of negative camber you guys have gotten by lowering your dsm. Obviously this will vary between 1g and 2g due to the difference in the suspension...
If anyone has them it would be great. I've tried searching myself, but no luck. Please don't just say buy arp's because you will only be wasting your breath and everyones time. Almost forgot, it's a 6 bolt. Thanks in advance :)
I'll see if I can get it off, boss owes me a few weekends anyways. I got another 1g, at least 1 possibly 2 2g's, and a vr4 that will most likely tag along. Me dizzum won't be done cosmetically, but the primary build I'll be working off of will be. Hope to see you guys there.
Really close to what I want to hear haha just not quite there. Need someone that has tried both, and has it installed on their own 1g. If I had the money right now I would be all over it, but I'm waiting on tax income to do my whole suspension setup. Right now I'm just researching the options...
Cool, maybe you have an answer to a question for me then. I'm also trying to figure out if you use the boost controller from IPT is a shift kit really necessary? Thanks.
91stocker, thanks for that tidbit of info man, I'll look more into it.Bud92gsx, That makes sense, but from this I'm assuming you have a paddle shift setup? Oh and thanks for the pm.
Ok, now that I know the front one isn't adjustable, let me fill you in on my thoughts. I live in an area populated by many poorly maintained coutry roads. They aren't full of pot holes but they are full of dips and bumps. So the current plan for my suspension is the stock springs with agx...
This sounds interesting, not all that much either, cheaper than the IPT controller. Will they be able to add overdrive to the power button? If I'm correct with the power mode selected it basically turns off overdrive while raising the shift point of the other gears correct? I may be wrong...
Well I'm looking for less roll but more oversteer. I know I can adjust the ST rear sway bar to full oversteer, but I'm starting to doubt I could do the same with the front. I rather lean towards more oversteer with more roll rather than less roll with more understeer. We will see what happens...
Hey guys,I know that most say that an upgraded front sway bar on the 1g's is worthless, but the curiousity is killing me. I know the rear ST sway bar is adjustable, my question is simple, is ST's front sway bar also adjustable? Thanks in advance guys.Chris
Hey guys,I've been looking at making a paddle shift setup for my dsm, but I have a few questions. I know the shift box let's you electronically control your shifts, while the boost controller lets you raise the line pressure, but is there really a need for both? I mean, wouldn't running the...
I don't believe so. I thought it replaced the stock one up front. I know the rear replaces the stock one, unless it's fwd in which it adds one, but I know it is adjustable for understeer and oversteer. Just trying to get more info on the front one. Thanks.
Interesting, I didn't know I could use a 2g steering wheel but I looked it up and it has two horn buttons so it would work perfectly. Was going to get a cheap aftermarket one with the "nitrous" buttons haha, but I'm sure I can find a 2g wheel for cheap if not for free. Do you have a link to the...

I've heard a lot about bad ride with agx's and eibach's. From what I understand though, struts are for performance/ride and springs are for basically looks, there for I figured performance struts with stock springs would be perfect. I was told by my steering and suspension teacher, which also...
Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for the post guys, but I had no clue they discontinued the rears in the koni's. That's lucky that the 2g koni's work on awd's, but I still think I'm screwed out of koni's since I'm rocking fwd :/ Anyone know if this luck works for fwd's as well or should I just have my...
Hey Guys,My question is obviously clear, which shock do you guys prefer with stock springs? I've seen post about one or the other but not compared to each other. Not sure if there is anything you guys need to know about my setup but if there is feel free to ask. Thanks.Chris
Hey guys,I've searched and searched, but does RM racing make a rear sway bar for a 1g fwd dsm? Or is the ST rear sway bar my only option? The only reason I ask is because I heard the Rm racing one is a hair bigger. If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated. ThanksChris
Ok. So when I fixed the timing, I accidently stripped a bolt on on in the timing gear for the crank pulley. After waiting a week for the new part finally got it on last night, and fixed the timing, but I am still having the same problem. Idles around 2k for roughly 5 seconds then it dies. As I...
He didn't but I did. I ordered a new timing kit. I didn't set the tension correctly, I read it wrong the first time through. Honestly I got lucky here. Stripped crank pulley bolt though in the process of changing the belt, so I have to order a new crank gear and wait for it to get here... bleh... :/
Ok. So finally broke down and started taking things apart. When I pulled off my crank pulley and checked my timing, I realized it jumped 2 teeth on the crank sprocket. Went and head and got a better belt and going to redo it tonight. I'll post the results either tonight or tomorrow.

Ok, not sure if I had it backwards or not when I pulled it out because I hit the intercooler hose by accident and it spun the paddle. I did make sure to put it in correctly, with the timing marks lined up, and visually made sure the number 1 cylinder was top dead center. It didn't make a...
Ok, I just got my first build built this past saturday. Having problems where the car won't stay running. I'm just curious if there was anything I was suppose to do with the timing, besides lining up the timing belt, before the first start up? I see a few sections in the haynes manual, and have...
So grounding your ecu let it idle? I haven't been able to play with any of the timing/idle stuff due to it not idling. I did find the volt meter trick with the diagnostic sensor but I'm not getting any codes. It's just doing fast pulses. I pulled my MAF connector to make it throw a code to kind...
I have a friend that has one but he lives an hour away. We go to the same college though so maybe I can get a hold of him this week. I planned on doing one once I got the car idling to begin with, but I never heard of boost leak killing an engine because of high rpm's, usually it's poor/rough...
Could this kill the engine though? I mean I know this would give me weird idle, but could the ecu be killing the car just because the idle is too high? I'll def try to get it from my friend either tomorrow or wed. I only see him at school which is an hour drive.
I can tell it has be tampered with, so I played with it a bit, and it's not making any difference. I know that once I can get her to idle I will need this though, thanks.I don't have a boost leak tester, even though I'm rather confident that it's not a leak. I have visually inspected...
Ok, let's start with the history of the car:-The car is an automatic 91 gst
-My friend bought the car 2 years ago
-The water pump was bad
-He replaced it
-When he started it, he was getting idle surge
-He noticed the intake cam gear had a missing tooth
-He replaced it
-Before he put...
I'm getting around 50. Guessing that's bad?Ok. Found this video:YouTube - DSM ISC motor testing & ReplacementDid the ohm test that he did, all came back good. They were a little high, but he said that it doesn't mean it's bad in the video. I went over all my vacuum hoses and intake...
I read that before I posted this. The problem is that this isn't idle surge. The car won't stay running long enough for me to do any of those small test. I found this video though:YouTube - DSM ISCThe ISC is suppose to do this everytime the key is turned. Mine is making the same noise...
Ok. So I started my new build up for the first time today, all my mods are on my page, and I cant keep her running. When it starts up the idle starts at about 1750 rpm then within a few seconds climbs to about 2250. When it gets to 2250 the check engine light comes on the engine dies. Also when...
Ok, so I just put my translab shift kit in, but I missed the step on scribing a new mark on my dipstick. I haven't ran it yet, but instead of pulling my pan back off I was wondering if someone could just tell me how much over the dipstick mark they have theirs filled with the translab shift kit...
That's really odd. I just got done taking auto trans last quarter. There is nothing in the trans that has to do with level besides the fluid. My guess is your valve body is loose, so when you do the filter make sure to torque the valve body down to specs. The only other guess is something is...
Thanks for the insight. I'm not too worried about the coking since I am only using it for roughly 3 months and it's being installed on a freshly rebuilt engine. As far as the clearance goes (if the heat shield acted as a shim or not), if the turbine nut isn't at least finger tight the exhaust...
Alright, I am putting back together a 13g turbo for my 91 gst. My brother was suppose to do it for me but he took it apart and never got back around to it. I got most of it together but I noticed on the blueprint in the site below there is a heat shield in between part 6 and part 19. I had two...
