Thanx for your help Justin! lol, I have a buddy running this on his car (smaller compressor side) and this thing is sick! What can you tell me Justin? Fairly decent turbo?
I was wondering if many people have used the Synapse WG and how they have held up in comparison to other type wastegates?? Here is my LITTLE TURBO... SUPER T70, .70ar turbine, .96ar compressor :cool:Why use a soda can for size comparison? JUST USE A 1gal PAINT CAN! :hellyeah:
Can someone please help me out and tell me if there is a diff in height for intake and exhaust valve springs for a 4G63T head?? I have 3 diff springs heights here and forget which one goes where..lol.. 46.75mm, 47mm, and last 48.25. The 47mm has beefy coils, and the 48.25mm thickness is in the...
I was doing my valvetrain and I noticed this! Is this ok to run like this or not :hmm:? Notice the cracks where the bottom retainers rest :ohdamn:. Also, this is a 1g head going on a 2g 7blt. The first pic is the worst one I think, but there are a few of them that are cracked in some way. Don't...
Lol, the person I got the car from had the exhaust timing off 180 deg. :nono: :ohdamn: I had to replace the head, head gasket, turbo, ECU, and all the electrical items that he had hooked up like a time bomb! :banghead:I am now running a Cyclone intake mani, a PTE SC5252e turbo, 880...
I just put a head on a GST I bought and the car sputters, smokes, and does not run correctly. I would like someone in or near PA to come help me with tuning this so I can get it on the road. If you can help me out, hit me up! PLEASE!! BTW, the car has a MAF-T, 680 inj's, SAFC, Greddy...
The adrenaline you get from driving a boosted DSM (AWD is best) is better than any drug! Unless you like to do both, then I am sure that might be better. LOL :hellyeah:
Kinda like condoms. If you had one brand by Justwanaphuk and one by Trojan or Durex at 4x the cost. Not like I know anything about this since I am 32 with 5 kids.. LOL :banghead: :banghead:
 I am sorry, I was not implying that you were "dumb". I have heard of people talking about their wastegate as the BOV and vise versa. I just wanted to make it clear.. LOL Again, I did not say that to question your intelligence.
I have already made upper and lower IC piping. I will post pics soon! I am trying to make as much carbon fiber parts as possible for weight reduction. Nice thing about CF is that it comes in a few colors, Bad thing is that it is not really cheap! LOL
Look at the first pic, you can see the blue wire there. In the second pic if you look closely, it is under the green wire on the 3 wire side. Oh wait, your saying that it's not branching off like the other 2 wires with the female connections. I was told by Greddy that they are for other items...
I am going to use it ! I HATE when people botch up their wire harnesses with 1/2 azzed (not a typo, didn't want to swear. LOL) soldering jobs/ hacked wires, So I try to do everything on my car the right/correct way. :hellyeah:
Thank you GS. I do have that same diagram from my turbo timer, and yes, this harness is the optional one. I was a bit confused by the extra wire between the 2 diagrams so I called Greddy and they couldn't even tell me/help with what this wire was for. LOL I hope the sizing of my letters are OK...
I agree with that it's in the tune. I was referring to people that take bone stock cars(No MAFT,SAFC, DSMLink), adding a MBC/EBC and trying to get more power/more boost, and ending up in failure.
This much is true. I was referring to a COMPLETE, top and bottom end being stock. BTW I was not yelling. :thumb: I know a few DSM'ers and also have friends that know a few more, and all of them I know have had problems when taking their boost levels too high on stock longblocks.
Yes, it did come with instructions, IN CHINESE! I did call Greddy and looked all over for info and was not successful! Also, I posted this 2 days ago with no replies, so yea, I posted a reply to see if anyone can help. Thanks for your input though. P.S. I do know how to search for things(with no...
The basic function of the "wastegate" is to allow exhaust gas to go around the turbo instead of through it, which allows the turbo to stop making more boost. In other words, the wastegate is what allows you to control the boost level."Blowoff valves" are used to prevent compressor surge, a...
To see what the stock spring is set at, take the hose that comes off the turbo inducer housing and run that straight to your wastegate. If you have an aftermarket boost gauge, look to see where it goes at full boost. Some people also "crush" their BOV's .
:nono:Just dont try to boost to 30+psi on stock internals either.. I wouldnt recommend anything over 20psi on stock, but everyone is different and some have dared to do it.
I dont see why it would matter what way it is oriented as long as it does the job the way it is supposed to. Kinda like 2 steaks on 2 different plates. It's still a steak! LOL
Here it is. You might want to do a search before you post things. I didnt at first and my posting got sent to the graveyard. Here is the link that took me 10 seconds to find.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/cylinder-head-short-block/345564-thrust-bearing-modification-crankwalk-prevention.html
I read somewhere on here (maybe VFAQ) and they were saying about filing down the bearing or something like that to get better oil flow around the bearing. I will check for it, I just read it last night. I will post it when I find it.
I have a head on the way. Should be here by this weekend. My exhaust valves were bent even before the head went to the machine shop! They did a valve job thinking they were not seating properly!
