Depends on how much you use... i could easily have put in 20-30lbs plus into my install.. and its still not quite done.. and that weight does not include weight of wire, foam, speaker rings or enclosures, or the weight of the speakers or the amps... I definitely not be the fastest car around...
Also, in addition to the lay/roll/ spray on mass adders, you also want to look into acoustic decouplers like closed cell foam (think sleeping mat). Chunks and sheets of a lot of the CCF i will be using can be had at Jo-Ann fabrics stores... OR check out second skin audio's site. LOTS of useful...
Well, a few questions come to mind. 1) What kind of music do you primarily listen to, and at what volume?
2) are you just looking for a lil bump in the trunk, or are you going for an audiophiles wet dream? 3) Budget? 4) who is doing the install/ enclosure design and fabrication? 5) Have you...
Ok.. Few problems I've noticed so far. Your "mechanic" is recommending HKS parts? Not to bash HKS, but they are not really the best bang for your buck on the 4g63. Cams, hell yeah find some 272 or 280s and get those going, But for those you will need upgraded springs/ etc in the head. For only...
As I have redone all of the audio wiring in my GSX, I'll offer some advice. It is easiest i you pull off all of the lower panels of the dash. Use a small prybar, or flat head screwdriver to pop the boots off. (Just push on the long side, there is a plastic clip as I recall, then pry out)
After...
i think 96'eclipsegs, should read over his own post again. A 2.3 or a 2.4 for that matter will both be just fine on the street. No replacement for displacement, and I am sure you will enjoy the extra power coming off of idle.
$1700 should get your short block up and running just fine. Check...
you dont have to take out the dash. Ive done it recently in my GSX.. Use a screwdriver, or some other pry tool... go around the edge of the rubber hose and pull/tug/pry she will come out.. Installation is the reverse of removal.. I do recommend using a clothes hanger to get the speaker wire...
From what I can tell,
you chose a bad mechanic. It does sound like he failed to correctly time the motor. Given a tiny amount of time, the amount of air your t-28 is pushing compared to the stock t-25, no fuel upgrades and nothing to tune with, all (to me) add up to broken motor..
IF you are...
I know... I bought the block second hand after machining... still fresh... Will be going back to the shop that did the original work with pistons to square everything away!
Hello all,
I picked up a 4g64 block fresh from the machine shop (20 over, decked for MLS, fully cleaned.. and a 4g64 micro-polished and uncut crank. After Ive spent at least 2 hours searching and reading through threads, I still have yet to find an answer to my question.will any 7 bolt...
OH! That is a fantastic find! it is a VERY clean way to install your head unit, and USING the stock amplifier still... the harness, will plug into the factory one, but cutting all but the 12v constant, 12v acc, illum, and ground (typically the only ones required for a unit to power up.) wite...
1991 talon, attacking Paul is no way to get assistance... People get peeved off, when there is such amounts of information, and PAGES of threads regarding proper torque specs for the different ARP fasteners, the construction of motors, and reams of data on the proper use of MLS gaskets. Perhaps...
so far so good. seems to be holding up really well... I'm still not touching it with bare fingers yet though... I want to be COMPLETELY sure they are dry/ set etc etc... But they are REALLY black though, so it is a good thing.
Im not sure what you missed. All of that info is in the post and pictures. I took EVERYTHING off.... i said 600 grit wet sandpaper. i used palmolive dish soap for soapy water. and 91% rubbing alcohol... I also used Krylon Satin Black for Plastic....
you keep blowing that circuit, and you said it was a piss poor job on radio install? make sure power and ground are not touching, or that speaker leads do not touch... also have run into similar problem with a different vehicle...
Double check the radio's ground. I have re-grounded mine, I ran it to bare metal just inside the center console. It no longer attaches to the ground in the Harness. It solved VERY similar problems. I won't say same because it fixed my issue but YMMV.
As to the bodykit... It needs MASSIVE amounts of work i think... I am no bodyman however. Rear bumper has some chips, dings, and spiderwebbing and where it was molded into/onto the rear quarter panel cracked bad.
The front bumper has real bad cracks (one of my not so smart moves, when I was...
Well I picked my 95 GSX up in August of 2009. She had a few issues like boost leaks, the LOOK at ME paint job, ricer body kit and side mirrors I could not see out of.Within a week of purchase, I took her up to Mach V since i lived only 20 minutes away. Quick once over discovered that my...
Do you have any idea how high i was back there? Do you have any idea how drunk I was going? Puff puff pass bro..
officer I gotta go, gotta go take a massive bowl movement, they were feeding me hard liquor back there.
Officer, I am taking my wife to the hospital, she is in labor right now...
Today, November 10th, Americans celebrate the 236th birthday of the oldest and longest continually running American armed force. The US Marine corps was established Nov. 10th, 1775 at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. As a former Marine, I wanted to wish all of my devil/ jarhead/...
Hell to the yeah mnim.... looks GOOD!... I am looking at homedepot/ lowes peel and seal for flat areas like the floor and firewall, and covering that in spectrum sludge from Secondskinaudio.com. For the panels like inside doors, and other vertical panels I will be playing price maggot between...
Hello all,In attempting to diagnose why my side mirrors (power) were not working, I discovered that for my 95 GSX, Chassis side plug has 5 wires, and mirror has 3...
a few questions,
1) were heated mirrors an option?
2) does anyone have the pinout, or wiring diagram for this particular...
DECONSTRUCTION!!! Ahhh I have been waiting 18 long months for this. However, The interior developed some kind of FUNKY smell.
So, I start taking apart the interior, starting in the trunk. In the spare well I find a pool of water, almost enough to cover my windshield reservoir. Cleaned that out...
Just about any forged set of rods and pistons will do you well for your goal. Dont forget to have the block machined if need be, and have crank checked out. Were you planning on rebuilding the engine with the motor still in chassis or taking it out? I've rebuilt mine while engine was in car and...
Honestly, Sounds like overkill in some areas, and not sufficient in others... I noticed a lack of tuning capability. ECMlink V3 can be had for <$600 if you shop around, or you may have a flashable ECU in your 98. I also noticed a lack of engine management. Plans for boost gauge, wideband O2...
not those either, Re-ran those wires, as mice had eaten through the factory ones at the speaker connections, and those wire colors are yellow/blue stripe/ silver hash marks: gray/blue stripe/ silver hash marks (driver side) and yellow/ red stripe/ silver hash marks: gray/ red stripe/ silver hash...
Pulled the reservoir already... all electrical connections connected to the reservoir it self check out for continuity.. time to keep going...EDIT: Okay, I have concluded that the problem with the squirters is not with the wiring, all check out for continuity, checked with multimeter on every...
thanks for the suggestion, but mine still turns on, so it doesn't belong to that.. i know of 2 problems with the car/ electrical toys, power mirrors, and windshield sprayers don't work.. I am currently in the process of checking the sprayer motors for function... the switches work.. Pulling the...
I am including a pic.. This connection appears to be factory wiring. I found it behind my rear seats/ trim underneath the carpet. The wires coming out of the pigtail are solid red, solid black. It is located behind the rear seat, drivers side. I found it with the wires cut, but i can not locate...
I would wait to Bore the block until you had the pistons IN HAND to take to the machine shop, so that they get the oversize EXACTLY right instead of a ball park estimate. You could also ASK the graveyard what it is that they do to get our 7 bolt rods to accept the 4b11 pistons. Also, I would...
With some of the components you say you already have to go on, you are going to need to do your timing belt anyway. I would just do it all at once, All the maintainence (timing belt, water pump, Alt., master and slave cylinders, Pullies, and change over to the 16g, add fuel mods, and go fresh!)
wouldn't it be louder and more sonically efficient to build a ported enclosure, sub up, port back? similar to what makes CRX's loud as hell? folded horn concept...
maintenance first... as in timing belt and ALL components.. Then something to tune and log with. Then a wideband 02 sensor. after that you can look in the classifieds for power adders.. Do it the right way, the first time. I think link, WBo2, a timing belt kit, a used 16g, used 190 walbro, and...
Similar Barracks story... bastard pissed in all my boots, burnt all but 1 set of my utilities, and the one he left he shredded... he was trying to set my civis on fire in a pile of the middle of the room when I woke up... i kicked him in the face on the way to go Grab the Duty Sgt.. Apparently...
I stick to arizonas, or the $1 brisk liters from 7-11... And for the record the correct recipe for caribou lou is 151 rum, pineapple juice, and malibu rum.. Seriously, Check the Tech N9ne song, "caribou lou"
Do you know where you can buy dubstep(ooooo how i LOVE that band)? Your local Wawa.... wah wah wah.... Dubstep is the fat wobbley gross nasty whore of EDM.
